Suzuki Wagon R with plenty of plusses(+):-)
Review of Suzuki Wagon R+ 1.2 by  jagloverz

Advantages: Big car feel, small car price.Well finished
Disadvantages: More expensive than others in class

...Welcome to my review for the Suzuki Wagon R+ 1.2. If you're wondering why i am able to write reviews on so many different cars, its simple...... I've worked in the Car auction and Car hire business, so have driven too many cars to mention. Ciao suggests being factual, so i'll use headings, and be as easy to understand as possible. Reliability This car is very reliable and Suzuki are making great efforts to ensure that their cars meet the same high standards as their motorbikes. The engine is quiet and unassuming, with enough power for motorway trips. Safety The Wagon+ is well built and has a host of safety features as standard.ABS, Passenger and Drivers airbags are all present. Car handles well, and feels as big and as safe as a Golf-sized car. Spaciousness Large cabin at the expense of some boot space. Easily... Read review

Why Suzuki Wagons R best!
Review of Suzuki Wagon R+ 1.2 by  theatregirl

Advantages: Compact and nippy, ideal for driving about town, excellent high driving position.
Disadvantages: Can feel a little unsafe on corners if taken at speed.

...This jeep like little hatchback is more than just a cheeky little box on four wheels. Despite it's fairly hard ride it offers the budget car buyer so much more than just another hothatch. With basic but not unpleasant trim and some noteable inclusions like cup holders, rear central 3pt belt and rear headrests the Wagon R is nothing short of a little dream for families in town. No need to power up a giant gas guzzling 4 by 4 that struggles to squeeze itself into a parking space every time you nip to the shops. The Wagon R brings you that high driving position but remains neat and nippy enough to transport you safely around and into any otherwise inadequate parking space without ripping a hole in your wallet the next time you stop for petrol. While limited on boot space there is still ample room for most daily essentials... Read review

Practical, reliable, cheap... Ugly!
Review of Suzuki Wagon R+ 1.3 by  MrSains

Advantages: Great town car, cheap insurance group, cheap tax, cheap to run, no problems since owning it, nice little MPV.
Disadvantages: Ugly, lack of leg room in back, not ideal if you are going on a long journey.

...I consider myself as fortunate, being the owner of a Suzuki Wagon R+. For my driving purposes it is ideal; I am a student and drive to my college daily, about 5 miles away from my house. I do not go very far very often, which is lucky -- driving long distances in the Wagon R is not very comfortable. This comes down almost entirely to the seating, which is stiff and board-like. For the driver and front passenger the room is fine, it's perhaps a little on the narrow side but no more than most cars of this size and price band. The Wagon R is very high, which results in odd (or shall we say 'quirky') looks, albeit much improved in the latest models (2001/Y reg+). For the tall drivers this is good news. This new model is basically a Vauxhall Agila with a Suzuki badge, while the older version is much more boxy and has been referred... Read review

Ugly Duckling
Review of Suzuki Wagon R+ 1.3 by  dobieg

Advantages: Inexpensive, functional, maximum use of space
Disadvantages: Just look at the photograph

...The Suzuki Wagon R+ is a car you instantly love or loathe! - I love mine! When I told my best mate I'd bought a pre-owned one to replace my ageing Proton Persona he said 'Well you've never bought a decent car before, so why should you break the habit of a lifetime'. I felt his comments were a bit harsh, but I could understand where he came from. You see - the Wagon R+ is a bit like a Camel - the old joke being that it's a horse designed by a committee. Take the overall design. In Japan, there was a law passed recently which drew up a maximum specification for a 'small' car - high population density and overcrowded roads meant there simply wasn't the space for huge gas-guzzlers Rather than wield the 'stick' of congestion charging and taxing drivers out of existence, they offered the 'carrot' of lower motoring costs... Economy In Mind
Review of Suzuki Wagon R+ 1.3 by  Festa

Advantages: Easy for less mobile people to get into
Disadvantages: No steering wheel control for the radio

...As an accountant I don't usually buy a brand new car, but for the best part-ex deal on my dying Clio I decided that needs must! After trying numerous cars I decided on the Suzuki Wagon R+ Special. Initially it wasn't even on my list of cars to try but I decided to test drive it on the recommendation of a friend who has had several happy years of motoring with hers, and also because the garage happened to be near to one that I had decided to visit anyway. So what is so special about the car that swung it? SAFETY FEATURES * both the driver and passenger have airbags fitted as standard. * the front and rear doors have side impact bars ( and also have arm rests, not common in a car of this size). * it has a pedal release system on the pedals to help reduce leg injuries in the eevnt of an accident and also a collapsible steering... Horses for courses
Review of Suzuki Wagon R+ 1.3 by  mccawber

Advantages: Roomy, economic, eminently practical.
Disadvantages: No alarm(!!!), high boot sill.

...On his TV show, Jeremy Clarkson described the WagonR as "a wendy house on wheels". Fortunately, we don't all subscribe to the vroom-vroom culture - in fact a surprising number of us don't really want to be 18 years old all our lives. It is, of course, a question of horses for courses. I wouldn't care to habitually drive from John o'Groats to Landsend in the WagonR, but then that isn't something I do too often. As a paid-up member of the arthritic-old-gits club, I find the WagonR a revelation. It's nippy, comfortable and quite the most practical car I've ever owned. Easy to get in and out of, a joy to park, and visibility I miss when I get into an ordinary saloon car. And at the price, even some of its minor deficiencies can be lived with. The only major deficiency as far as I'm concerned is the lack of an alarm system. Against that... Read review

EVerything except looks
Review of Suzuki Wagon R+ 1.3 by  elainedickinson_36

Advantages: Great Features, average
Disadvantages: Looks SHit!!

...might find steering a bit rough but its fine for me, it included seat belts, inclined seats and a five gear manual transition, power windows and power steering are included as well. The space factor in the car is a highly underrated feature of the Wagon R; I mean the Wagon R easily accommodates four average sized people sitting in the rear and the standard two on front. The most important feature here is the damn mileage, it gives me an average of 11 kmph and on a highway I get a staggering 14 kmph. You can expect to pay anything between £7500 to £8000 for this car depending on the available offers and schemes.... Read review

I love my Postman Pat
Review of Suzuki Wagon R+ 1.3 by  Callykay

Advantages: Brilliant run around car
Disadvantages: Placement of the horn

...I bought the Wagon R+ new 2 months ago. My previous car was a Vauxhall Agila (same body with a different badge and engine). The Wagon is far superior mainly because of the much better engine. It's great for running around town, very nippy and easy to manoeuvre, good handling. The visibility is great because of the high seating position and even better the seat has an adjustable height facility. Plenty of space in the car itself and in the boot. If you need to carry large loads the rear seats are easy to put down and split seating is a bonus. Unlike some cars you don't have to pay extra for all the little extras such as electric windows, remote central locking, three rear seat headrests and even the little pockets in the boot. Fuel consumption is very good, cheap car tax and cheap car insurance are all factors to take... Read review

Welcome to the pleb-mobile!
Review of Suzuki Wagon R+ 1.3 by  Sydney315

Advantages: Easy to drive, ample boot space, easy for the older generation to get in
Disadvantages: Take one look at it, seat belts in the front are extremely short

...for chugging along not smoothly speeding. For some unknown reason the seat belts in the front are freakishly short (very embarrassing if you give some one a lift who is on the larger size). There is nothing essentially wrong with the car but I do feel like a right plonker driving it. The height is unusual and the wheels look strange because of its size. It has been very useful for transporting my nearly ninety year old Grandma around, she finds it difficult to get in and out of cars now-a-days and finds the Suzuki just the right height to gently place her bottom on the seat and swing her legs in. It has also been briliant for moving her big granny armchair when she comes to stay. I can totally understand the attraction to this car when you're getting on in age as it is not full of confusing technology and you can comfortably chug along... Read review
