...I buy all my blank media from SVP for one specific reason: it is cheap! I do a lot of CD and DVD burning so therefore get through a lot of discs. SVP offers good quality CD's and DVD's for a very reasonable price. First things first. I have been using SVP for about 3 years after a friend of mine told me about it and I now buy all my blank media from here (although they sell many other things). The website is fairly easy to use but can sometimes take a while to load up. In terms of products, I will not go through every single type of product that they have as I would be here for weeks but I will say that they sell pretty much everything you can think of to do with personal computing as well as other electrical equipment such as televisions, home cinema systems and DVD players. ...I have used SVP 3 times so far this year, mainly for blank CD/DVD media/cases. In all the three times I have used SVP, the goods ordered arrived promptly, though the two orders earlier this year were on an older version of their website (which has now been redesigned and is user-friendlier), this review relates to my most recent order, placed on 09/09/2004. The order was for CDs, Cases, 2 mice and a memory card reader, in all cases the items were well-priced (only the cds and cases were required, the others were impulse-buys). One advantage/disadvantage of SVP is that they only allow you to order what they have in stock. You may like this method or dislike it. ...I have been buying stuff from SVP since I got my first PC in 2000. I had recorded my first band demo but could not afford to have my CDs duplicated and pressed so I decided to do it myself. SVP sold the cheapest CD-Rs, inkjet paper, CD labels, label applicator and even sold inkjet cartridges for about 90% less than Epsom. It all arrived in a massive box full of a totally unnecessary (but welcome) amount of bubble-wrap and packaging (which came in useful for sending the demos out) and before long I was my own one-man record company, pressing plant and sweat-shop! I have tried one or two similar companies for blank media and materials since then, but had trouble with the orders and always ended up going back to SVP. Since the initial review was written there has been an overhaul of the design of the website and it is much more friendly now for both first-time and repeat buyers.
