My daughter really enjoyed watching this movie not only because it was a barbie movie but because it is also a ballet movie. Barbie swan lake is the third animated movie that has been made. PLOT ****** Barbie stars as a young bakers daughter Odette. Odette comes across a beautiful unicorn and the unicorn goes into the enchanted forest where she follows it deep into the forest. Odette gets caught by the evil wizard Rothbart who then casts a spell on odette which transforms her into a swan,although the fairy queen counters the spell Odette still ends up being a swan by day and a human by night. The evil wizard is trying to defeat his cousin the fairy queen and take over the enchanted forest and it is the job and destiny of Odette to save the enchanted... Read review

...The Swan Hotel at Newby Bridge is situated at the Southern most tip of Lake Windermere. It is in a beautiful location, overlooking the river Leven (which flows into Windermere) and is set back from the main road, accessible by a traditional stone bridge which has been there for centuries. HISTORY ********** The Swan was formerly a small, traditional guest house and the old part of the building dates back to the 18th century. It's owners, Mrs Bardsley and the late Roland Bardsley subjected it to a huge overhaul in the mid nineties, spending a vast amount of money converting it from a homely 7 bedroomed inn to what it is today. Advantages: Very tranquil, pretty setting and beautiful hotel
Disadvantages: Car park is about 500 yards from entrance - when it rains you get very wet!

...My partner and I stayed at The Swan Hotel in Newby Bridge last weekend and i felt compelled to share our experience with others... The hotel is located at the Southern tip of Lake Windermere and overlooks the River Leven. It is in an absolutely beautiful setting, is accessed via a small bridge and is set right back from the main road. I think in total it has 55 bedrooms, some of which are suites - but we opted for a standard double during our stay. We were in room 313 and this had a river view - as do all the odd numbered rooms i think. The room was very spacious and the bed was extremely comfy (although very soft). The bathroom was perfectly pleasant, although decorated in a slightly 'old fashioned' way. You get a few select Sky Channels in the rooms and also broadband is available. ...Ornithophobia Since I was a little devil of 8 years old I have always feared birds, the feathered kind that is! One in particular…… Swans. Wherever I go, they always seem to find me, day or night. Swans look so pretty don't they? Beautifully gliding through the rivers and lakes, showing off their snowy white feathers ever so gracefully. Once upon a time, I too used to think they were one of the most beautiful birds nature had to offer. Well let me tell you, they are bloody vicious! ...In 1976 I was listening to Billy Swan singing "I Just Want to Taste Your Wine" and enjoying a long, hot summer! At the time I bought the original LP (yes, vinyl!) - the one entitled "Billy Swan" with the grey border - and loved every track on it, which was pretty amazing because for me the odds of that are astronomical!! So when I saw this combination CD advertised I decided to indulge my nostalgia and buy it - and no, I was NOT disappointed with the other 10 tracks from the original LP entitled "Four". All together this CD provides a history of what I think is the best period of Billy Swan's career and it certainly takes you back to those lazy days of summer (when it really was hot all the time!).... ...Here's number 5 in my short series about my pubs in York. The Old White Swan is one of my favourites, and in my opinion I definitely under-use it. Firstly, how to get there. From my general start point of the fountain in Parliament Street, head north-east towards Efe's kebab van. If you have any sense, stop there and get some food, and your photo taken (which will be posted on the van the following week). Incidentally, I rate Efe's 6 out of 5 for food.
