...This is a fantastic book swap site based in the UK. It allows you to swap books you no longer want for books you haven't yet read - free of charge. You register all your unwanted books that have been lying around gathering dust on your bookshelf. Then you find a book you like on the site and then you offer to swap any of your books with the owner of the book you want! It's simple and direct and easy - you get a book for a book, unlike some sites where you can swap 12 chocolate bars for a secondhand lawn mower or whatever. All you pay for is the postage of sending the book to the person you are swapping with, the site itself is totally free to use and membership is also free. ...Now I realise that there are already quite a few reviews on this website, which I am glad about as hopefully it is spreading the word of a superb site.But in the past few weeks, there have been some changes to the Read It Swap It site, so I hope to either introduce to the site if you haven't heard or visited it before, and if you have, then update you on the new features which have been put in place, making it even better than before! The Read It Swap It site does exactly what it says. When you have finished reading a book, or for whatever reason you have a book at home you would like to get rid of, then you list it on this site, and swap it for a book belonging to another member that you actually want to read. ...Intro: ------- When Wife Swap started on Channel 4 a few years ago it was a very good programme with a very simple but strong format. Sadly the new series, which started on Channel 4 last week with a celebrity episode involving the rather disgusting John McCirick and Edwina 'famous for sleeping with John Mayor' Currie, is definately past its sell by date, with exactly the same stereotypes and arguments. Namely, take one snobby person and swap them with a working class person. Or take one clean and tidy person and put them with someone who likes to live in a pigsty. For those of you not familiar with Wife Swap, the title is pretty self-explanatory. One wife from one family is swapped with one wife from another family. You sign up and list the books that you dont want anymore, which is a quick and easy process. Advantages: compulsive viewing
Disadvantages: too much arguing, bad for the kids

...Wife swap is basically about 2 families that are the complete opposite. The wives swap places and leave a manual of how they run the house for the other woman to follow. After a week (and plenty of shouting and swearing) the ‘wife’ tells the family everything they cant stand and the rest of the family have to live by their rules for the second week. It invariably ends in tears. After the second week is over the 2 couples meet up to ‘talk’ about how it went, but again it usually ends up as shouting and arguing. HOW POPULAR IS IT? This show is has only been around since January 2003, and yet its already onto its 3rd series, and would you believe it, has even been awarded a BAFTA! ...This book was one I was quite interested in reading, I mean lets be honest who hasn't dreamt about living someone else's life I know I have! I actually do have days when I can remember life before the kids, other half and mortgage. Don't get me wrong I love my boys and the other half (well sometimes!) but just occasionally when I see my single career minded friends I do get a bit envious but saying that they feel the same about my life (are they mad!) So to the book; The actually story of this book is quite a good one it is basically 'is the grass greener on the other side' story line and follows the two main characters. ...Wife swap ran for four weeks and was based on 4 different couple's who swapped partners for 10 days. The "Wife's" had to go and live with each others partners and for the first week they had to run the household how the "actual" wife ran the house. This was done by each wife leaving a manual of how they done things. After the first week the "pretend wife" could run the house how they normally do things. It was a very interesting and eye opening programme and made me realise that there are some very unfair relationships out there. The first week the couples came from very different backgrounds and it seemed that one of the families was a bit racist (although the wife tried to deny this)and they just did not get on with their new mixed race faimiles.
