Swarovski EL 8 X 32 WB
Review of Swarovski EL 8 X 32 WB by

Advantages: Weight, ergonomics, clarity, brightness, ease of use
Disadvantages: 8x mag
... SWAROVSKI EL 8 x 32
Some words of explanation... The name 'binocular' derives from the Latin bi (meaning two) and oculus (meaning eye) and describes a hand held optical device whose function is essentially to magnify distant images using an eyepiece and so allow them to be examined in detail.
* Objective lens - this is the large lens at the far end of the binocular.
* Ocular lens - the lens in the eyepiece.
There are two main designs of binocular:
* Porroprism: traditional, classic shape and design.
* Roof-prism: recognized by its straight tube like appearance.
Prism - a block of glass with triangular section having accurately polished edges, used to reflect light. Roof prism binoculars tend to have straight barrels.
What do the figures mean? All binoculars have a set of two figures indicating...

My beautiful "Phuket" watch
Review of Swarovski Phuket Watch Watch by
sharkel
Advantages: Makes you feel special
Disadvantages: Price Tag might put some off
...I've always had a bit of a fascination with jewellery and have always loved Swarovski jewellery, among others brands. I bought this watch last September and I love it so much I think everyone should have one!
On my recent visit to Austria I had the good fortune to visit the Swarovski Crystal world. I've been to my local stores and to concessions in local department stores but nothing could have prepared me for the size of the shop in the Crystalworld. I fell in love with the "Phuket" watch and developed a slight obsession with owning it! I finally got the watch a couple of months later with vouchers and monetary presents I gratefully received for my 30th birthday.
This watch isn't a "practical" watch, in the sense that it has many functions on it as, for example, diving watches would have. It is definitely what you would call...

PV or not PV
Review of The Princess Victoria (Brighton) by
wehrwulf
Advantages: Nice place for a quiet drink
Disadvantages: Can be too quiet
...I have to confess to spending a lot of time in the PV as it is just over the road from where I work. It is situated on Upper North Street in Brighton and is just a few minutes walk away from the town centre. Yet because it is not on a main route it does not attract the lager louts. Nor does it attract locals, most people who live nearby have traditionally gone to the windmill which is further along the same street.
So who does drink there? Civil servants and now, following a recent takeover, members of Brighton's gay community.
It is a relatively small pub with a couple of sofas and a raised bit by a fire that can get too warm, especially as the windows don't open. Generally, even on a weekend, it is possible to find a seat here. The televisions have been removed. I like watching football but it's nice to be able to have...

If (me and) a 5 year old can do it, anyone can!
Review of Philips 14PV225 by
Fruity_Tart
Advantages: Simplicity itself to operate, looks great, easy set up
Disadvantages: Minor niggles - small buttons on the remote control, clock doesn't change automatically like it should, not fully automatic tuning
...Both our daughters have received a TV/VCR combi from their nan for their 5th birthday. This year was Alices turn so with a nanny provided budget of £150 we went shopping. It's one thing shopping for a TV but shopping for something that a 5 year old can use is something else entirely. We dismissed Hitachi and Sony combo's as way too complicated; there were too many buttons on the remote controls, the buttons on the front were too small. Then there were the practical concerns; the SCART lead issue that I don't understand and which Mark considers highly important...
So Mark went off to McDonalds in a huff and I got talking to the assistant in Comet. I was totally fed up so I outlined what I wanted from a combo and asked if she had anything. She walked straight to the Philips 14pv 225 (as I found out later) and said this sounded...

I have an appointment at three.
Review of Casio PV 200 by
www.diamantladen.de
Advantages: very good price
Disadvantages: needs extra protection
...and such stuff; a more economical version, like evenly my pocket Viewer, do it also.
* Termination *
I know write thus about my PV-S200 really not and do not offer the competition, like Palm, similar devices with security not more cheaply on (whereby I had naturally an good deal with Ebay). To the service of Casio I must deliver then also still something praise. The homepage offers already assistance enough for smaller problems. Thus one knows all operating instructions without large stress downloaden itself there for the Acrobat reader. One finds the last new software there also and constantly new internal messages. At the moment one can receive an expensive leather briefcase for its pocket Viewer, if one exchanges its old data base with Casio against pocket a Viewer. There is a lower surface with addresses where one turns out for a Evt...

Televideo says eh oh!!
Review of Philips 14PV 111 by
emilyo
Advantages: Saves space, light weight - easy to move around
Disadvantages: Can't watch a different channel than you are recording
...I have been very happy with my Televideo since its’ purchase about a year ago. I bought it because I wanted an extra television in my home which could be moved around easily. I had always only had one television but after the birth of my child and all the night feeding that followed I needed something to keep me awake and alert while feeding and also make the lack of sleep seem more durable. This suited me perfectly as it meant I could stay in bed feeding happily and could also move it around the house easily.
Having a television and Vcr combined does make it so easy to move around as there is only one lead to plug in and no cables to fuss about with.
This Philips 14PV111 was my answer. I chose this one basically because I got it at a local electrical store for the bargain price of £125 – a good investment but I have not been...

A TV for the 21st Century
Review of Panasonic TH-37PV500 by
bluenosesquonk
Advantages: Super picture quality
Disadvantages: None I can think of
...setting up and user instructions with good illustrations throughout.
The TV is a great platform for playing video games and gives a new life to those that have a reasonable level of resolution.
The menu system is easy to use with multi level operations rather than too many initial options.
It is possible to connect a number of peripheral devices to the TV via it's 3 SCART connectors and front & rear mounted AV connections.
The whole package looks good and stylish and has the added advantage of having a very sleek profile which is a major advantage over traditional TVs.
I can think of no real negatives with this TV, other than a feeling that anything else would always be a disappointment after having owned and used a Panasonic TH-37PV500....

This One's The Daddy!
Review of Panasonic TH-50PV500E by
festivalnut
Advantages: incredible all round performance
Disadvantages: incredulous price tag
...After 2 years working in one of Britains largest electrical retailers the Panasonic Viera TH-50PV500E is the first TV I considered actually running out the back door with.
With a 50" screen the first thing that grabs your attention is the sheer size of the unit, this won't sit comfortably in a standard living room, but if you have a seperate media room, or want the tv to be the epicentre of your room, then this is the one I'd recommend. (Panasonic also offer Identical 37" and 42" plasma versions, which would suit the majority of people better, and the viera range is also available in LCD up to 32" although some features vary.)
this set can be displayed in three ways, on the cabinet stand (pictured), wall mounted (You'll need a seperate wall bracket for this) or on a diamond shaped pedestal stand (A pedestal stand is like a "foot...

You HAVE to see this TV.
Review of Sony FWD-42PV1 by
suspectdevice
Advantages: Looks cool, pictures great.
Disadvantages: NONE so far.
...BACKGROUND
I was in dismay; smoke was bellowing from my television, as I stood with the remote in my hand. My television had just given up, after only about two years of service - check the review here http://www.ciao.co.uk/SamsungWS32W8VDReview5491720 - my warranty had ran out and it was time for me to get a new one. I looked on the bright side; at least now I would finally be able to get a HD TV I had been hearing so much about.
OVERVIEW
After a trip down to my local electronics shop I decided on the Sony FWD-42PV1/S - 42" plasma panel - almost completely on looks alone. I'm a sucker for a pretty device, and this is A PRETTY device. It set me back about £750 including a two-year warranty, but it had a much larger screen than my old TV and since it was also HD I was excited when I brought it home. Admittedly I didn't have...

The Guild Wars saga continues...
Review of Guild Wars - Nightfall (PC) by
vivalajam
Advantages: A whole new continent, 2 new professions, new Hero system.
Disadvantages: Lacks a decent trade and group system.
...profession. This is where Guild Wars starts to stand out as the ability to change and customize your characters skills and professions at any time makes the game much more interesting.
Guild Wars uses streaming technology so it downloads files to your computer while you play, so there are never any downtimes for updates and only a re-log in is needed to start the downloading of files.
As most people will know, GW is not your everyday typical grinding game as there is a level cap of 20 in place. This is due to balancing of professions and to create a game of skill rather than a David vs Goliath situation.
On the character creation screen you will be given the choice of creating a Roleplay character or a PvP character. A roleplay character will start at level 1 and is leveled up during the main story and through optional quests. A Pv...
