Sweden! a lttle taste of Paradise!
Advantages: Clean, clean, clean!!! friendly locals, good transport, beautiful atmosphere-natural and cultural
Disadvantages: Expensive
...I don't know, but I've always had a great desire to go to Sweden. Scandanavia has always been so appealing...so different and interesting! And my wish came true back in April when i finally got on the plane with 3 of my friends, heading for Sweden!
It was cold leaving London...rainy and completely miserable! And leaving to go to a famously known cold country....we expected bitterly cold weather. So we packed loads of winter clothes, only to find that when we got there, it was about 25 degrees...such beautiful warm weather, and that's how it stayed pretty much for the 4 days we were there for.
When we landed, we'd already fallen in love with Sweden even though it was the first time any of us had ever been there. There was forest everywhere and no carrier bags flyinf about or anything!
Sweden is probably one of the cleanest...

Southern Sweden Adventure
Advantages: see review
Disadvantages: a lot of rain
...My boyfriend and I currently live in Sweden (see my review 'Living in Sweden' if you want to know why!) and for 7 days this summer we decided to head off on an adventure driving and camping along the south coast of Sweden. I have a trusty Rough Guide book of Sweden which has been like a bible whilst living here, as I am constantly referring to it. Before we left for our trip I had a read through to check which places we should visit along the way, but other than that we had no idea of where we would be going and what we would see?.
So come and join us on our 'Southern Sweden Adventure 2005' as we seemed to keep calling it for some reason!! There are photos and a map below too.
**Day 1**
We were supposed to set off early but after we had hauled all of our bags of camping gear, boxes of food, clothes, deckchairs, BBQ etc down...

Wi not trei a holiday in Sweden this yer?
Advantages: Lots of lovely museums, pretty trees, beautiful islands and buildings
Disadvantages: Expense of food and alcohol
...I have just returned from a week-long holiday in Stockholm (which provided me with a lovely excuse to ignore my University reading list for a while) and will now give you the chance to share and enjoy?
I visited Stockholm with my mum. We didn?t know much about Sweden to start with, or have many opportunities to look stuff up before going, but had a variety of reasons for wanting to go. I, being about to start a Classics degree, wanted to go somewhere I was unlikely to encounter Roman ruins. Neither my mum nor I wanted to go somewhere particularly hot, and neither of us had been to Scandinavia for a while, and thought it might be fun. I had also read good things in ?The Sword? (yes, I read a magazine that?s been Have I Got News For You?s guest publication, and I?m not ashamed of it) about an exhibition of fencing swords from mediaeval...

Natural talent
Advantages: Good performance by Robert Redford
Disadvantages: It's about baseball
...lose for his financial gain. When Roy refuses to play ball (not literally!), things begin to get nasty. Can Roy save his career and the reputation of his team? And will he manage to sort out his complicated love life?
I don't like baseball. I don't like films about baseball either. I recently watched Field of Dreams about a reincarnated baseball team and thought it was rubbish. Yet while sitting flicking the channels the other night, The Natural caught my attention and I ended up becoming engrossed. Baseball aside, this film is quirky and slightly off the wall. Oh, and the fact that Robert Redford is in it helps too!
As Roy Hobbs, Redford is playing a man that is quite a bit younger than he was at the time - he would have been nearly fifty, yet Roy Hobbs is in his thirties for most of the film. Although this is immediately obvious...

* Natural *
Advantages: Good Song , Chilled out feel to it
Disadvantages: None!
...contact lenses , Pretty Polly , Sky Sports and Marks and Spencer's.
Natural was the fifth single from S Club 7. Natural was released in the United Kingdom on 11th September 2000. The song comes under the pop and R&B genres. The length of the song is three minutes and twenty two seconds. Rachel sings the lead vocals on this track. Natural reached number three in the British single charts. Natural is taken off the S Club album '7'.
What a great song ; one of my favourites from S Club 7! This song has an R & B feel to it and is different to their other songs. Natural is a very chilled out and relaxing song. It is quite a smooth song. I think it's nice that another band member takes the lead vocals on this song , as it was a bit to 'same-y ' every time Jo took the lead vocals. Rachel's unique vocals compliment the song really well. Her...

I love you Sweden
Advantages: Beautiful, inexpensive to get there via Plane (£159 return for me from Manchester)
Disadvantages: Expensive once you get there, slightly offset by strength of the pound though
...So what did I think of Sweden
*****************************
In a word, beautiful.
In many words I will describe further :-)
The most noticable thing for me was just how nice everything was. The naturally beautiful surroundings and beautiful fields as far as the I can see were truly a sight to behold.
The startling lack of vandalism also took my attention. In Chester where I live and I suspect the majority of Britain (99%) Vandalism is a major problem. In Sweden where I visited Lund, Malmo and some other places I only seen a few bits of vandalism. Even that was not major. Graffiti was rare as was dropped litter, I was very impressed by their cleanliness that is for certain.
Crime also seemed very low, no gangs of unruly teenagers were to be found either. I felt very safe walking through the streets.

Nature nappies by Nature Babycare
Advantages: Good for environment, all natural, not too expensive
Disadvantages: Nappies can burst if too full, goes solid when full
...I will be honest, and say I never considered using environmentally friendly nappies when my son was born, I didn't know much about them and I wanted to make my life as easy as possible. But I received a voucher for a packet of Nature Babycare nappies about 2 months ago, and I decided that I would give them a go and see what I thought.
*The Company*
Nature Babycare nappies are produced by a Swedish company, and were the brain child of a mum who wanted to do more for the environment after finding out how bad disposable nappies are for the planet. Marlene Sandberg invented a nappy which keeps your child dry and happy, and which contains a Swedish invention which is made with a compostable biological maize film that breathes and is therefore still nicer for your baby.
*Nappies*
Nature Babycare nappies come in almost as many sizes as...

Back to Nature
Advantages: guilty free and effective
Disadvantages: rigid and limited availability
...Background??..
When I was pregnant I felt quite strongly about the issue of the number of nappies which end up in landfill sites - being a Geography teacher! However, I was not quite brave enough to go the cloth reusable route - so I was on the hunt for an alternative. Nature Nappies seemed to be the ideal solution so I happily purchased their range of products.
The Company?.
This is a Swedish company that was created in 1998 by a lawyer mum who wanted to find a nappy that performed well and was kind to the environment. They are now sold in Stockholm, London and New York (sounds like a fashion brand!).
The Nature Babycare company brief is:
"By investing in the most advanced technology, constantly developing and seeking the highest quality, we can offer our customer products that are amongst the finest in the world."
What...

Naturally Sound
Advantages: A breath of fresh air
Disadvantages: subscription only
...OK, so no freebies, prize draws or fashion spreads, and you won't find it in the newsagents, but if want a sound discussion of the ethical and environmental issues of parenthood this is the magazine you need. I know I found that motherhood continues to make me think and rethink some of the major values and issues, things I thought I'd sorted my views on years ago, and it's so refreshing to have a subscription that regularly challenges and revitalises my thinking on so many things.
'Natural Parent' magazine is published bi-monthly by Diamond Magazine Distribution, who also produce 'What Doctor's Don't Tell You' (www.wddty.co.uk). A two year subscription is £24.95. It takes an essentially holistic approach to parenthood, with the emphases on alternative/preventative health, environmental sustainability, freedom and creativitly...

Natural but Strong Hold
Advantages: Holds well, brushes out easily, cheap
Disadvantages: None from me
...using this spray you will notice that there is a fragrance to it but for me I find it very hard to describe. I always think of hairdressers when I spray this, those who use hairspray will know the smell which I mean. It is quite pleasant and does not last for long.
I paid just 68p for my 300ml can which I felt was a great bargain as named brands are well over £1 more than this. This is a great brand which works and leaves my hair feeling fresh and clean after brushing it out. I also gives a good natural finish to hair styles and does hold them very well....
