Review of Smith Kendon Mixed Fruit Flavour Travel Sweets by
mumsymary
Advantages: last ages
Disadvantages: sweet
...I have a golden tin on the mantle piece it used to contain Smith Kendons mixed fruit travel sweets. I have eaten a few of these tins over my lifetime. My dad used to buy them and occasionally we buy them too. Smith Kendon has been making sweets since 1780.
Smith Kendon sweets started in America .I believe they sold out at some stage to Kraft and more recently in 2005 I believe Kraft sold them to Wriggleys
Not only do Smith Kendon make mixed fruit travel sweets they also make acid Lemon, blackcurrant, and mocha coffee travel sweets.
These sweets come in a 200g tin they are very attractive and the tin possibly a collector's item.
Now to get on to the sweets. I have seen these sweets available in some newsagents /general stores. At some supermarkets and at fuel station shops and motorway services.
The price is about £1.30-£150p...

Really delicious
Review of Ambala Sweet Centre by
BINIBUBBLES
Advantages: delicious, well presented
Disadvantages: service depends on couriers
...Ambala on line.
Ambala Sweets are our family favourites. The sweets are not sickly sweet., just the right texture and colour.
I was very impressed with the on line option to send the sweets in a gift tin for a little bit of extra money. The tin is like a biscuit tin and the sweets are presented in layers in the tin.
I recently ordered Ambala Sweets to be delivered to the Netherlands through the on line service. Unfortunately, the courier let Ambala down and the parcel did not arrive on the specified date. However, the sweets were very well packed (with a cooling sheet) and were as good as fresh.
I brought the delayed delivery issue to the attention of the company.
I cannot speak highly enough of the on line Customer Service. They were very polite and courteous and without prompting, offered due compensation....

How long can you suck one for ?
Review of Campino by
mumsymary
Advantages: lasts a long time
Disadvantages: ?
...I was offered a Campino sweet the other day so how could I refuse. It was not chocolate like my favourite confectionary but a hard boiled sweet. I was offered a sweet from a 140g hanging bag, most supermarkets sell these bags for just a penny or two under a pound. You can also buy small tubes of campino sweets weighing 43g these cost about 40p think I have seen them for 38 and 39p there are 10 sweets in this tube. They also make a mini sugar free campino sweet
Campino are manufactured by the German company Storck a fairly modern sweet first made in 2000. I had not realised it till I just looked at the Storck site but they also make Werthers sweets.
There are 5 flavours available three flavours strawberry and cream, orange and cream. And summertime fruits are available in England, probably Scotland wales and Ireland too , blackcurrant...

Sour, Sour, Sour.
Review of Harry Potter Fizzing Whizzbees by
base453
Advantages: Something new, very sour and very nice flavorus
Disadvantages: Could be to sour for some people.
...My baby brother got a packet of these sweets in a party bag and they are absolutely fantastic.
They are very tasty and extremely sour. I love sour sweets and these are just what i like. I really like sour sweets and you don’t really get many sweets this sour.
These sweets are nice because the top layer fizzes away to reveal a nice chewy inside. They come in all different flavours my favourites being Blackcurrant and Apple.
Ever since i tasted my brothers pack I have become addicted to them i buy at least one pack a day some times even two because they are just so nice. I haven’t really tried anything else out of this range so I don’t know what the other sweets taste like. So if any body has please leave me a comment.
I think these sweets are only for people who are into sour sweets as they are the only ones I can truly say I...

a trip down memory lane
Review of Tesco Sweet Shop Rhubarb & Custards by
lisac1971
Advantages: nice sweets for sucking
Disadvantages: very hard could choke young children
...a real taste of nostalgia here, i remember when i was a small child going into the local sweet shop and asking for a quarter of rhubarb and custard sweets, these bought back a lot of memories!!
these come in a brightly coloured red bag with a clear see thru panel so you can see the sweets inside, tempting!!
very sweet and could almost be sickly if you ate too many in one go.
they are priced around 70p for a 227 gram bag
1 sweet contains around 33 calories and almost 6 grams of sugar shocking for just one sweet i think!!
the sweets are extremly hard so watch you dont break your teeth when biting htem and i would not reccomend letting young children having them coz of that fact and also the potential choking hazard they bring.
the sweets last ages and have a nice rough texture which disolves as you suck them.
very enjoyable and look...

Fantastic Tangfastics
Review of Haribo Tangfastics by
MilkyMalky
Advantages: Finally, sour flavoured sweets!
Disadvantages: Can leave with a sour mouth and needing a drink
...'Kids and Grown-ups love it so, the happy world of Haribo'. Indeed. Everyone in their right mind has a secret penchant for the odd sweet, and Haribo are a company who seem to be constantly providing, and constantly getting it right.
The majority of sweets on the market, and primarily those in compilation bags, as I call 'em (bags containing more than one type of sweet) all seem to follow one general rule - they are sweet.
OK, OK, I don't need 1001 comments telling me the whole reason why sweets are called sweets is their uncanny ability of being sweet.(although your comments are very much appreciated, and I look forward to reading them, hint hint :))
The problem is, with all confectionary being sweet, they all seemed a little 'samey' and uninteresting, sweets weren't as fun as they were when I was 10 and so I needed something...
