Oh so sweet
Review of Walkers Sensations - Thai Sweet Chilli by
oldwasp
Advantages: Great taste
Disadvantages: Not cheap
...Thai Sweet Chilli crisps made by Walkers are another flavour to add to the huge variety of crisps that you can purchase these days. A lot of the varieties just taste like chicken, beef or prawn. But these do taste like Thai sweet chilli.
The smell from the crisps is not strong in fact quite disappointing. You would think Thai sweet chilli would be quite pungent. The size of each individual crisp is not large, they all seem to be half circle shaped like a segment of orange except for the crushed one's that did not survive the journey home from the shop. The crisps are golden brown in colour with darker specks on them which must be some of the chilli ingredients. The crisps have a good crunch to them, even after a few days in an open bag that is closed after each session of munching. Am reviewing the large bag that is why it takes a few...

Tesco Healthy Eating Sweet Chilli Chicken
Review of Tesco Healthy Eating Sweet Chilli Chicken by
macteykith
Advantages: sounds exotic, cheap
Disadvantages: WHERES THE CHICKEN!!!!!
...Not a fan of sweet chilli, I thought I would give this a go.
It comes with a multibuy, 5 for £4.
Firstly, yes its lowcal ( around 350) but thats because its high in salt and fat AND theres nothing in the box!
Its a small portion, as always. Cooking by microwave is better than the oven, simply because the middle always ends up colder to the edges with these meals.
It comes with noodles. Two separate bits, but of course, noodles and chicken dont cook at the same rate so you run the risk of having only one side done properly if you dont separate them out. You shouldnt have to do this, so is needless fussing and contadictory to the ' easy ready meal' idea.
Smellwise, imagine boiled watery noodles, and thats your smell.
Once cooked, assuming you havent lost half of it trying to serve it up, you then find there are plenty of noodles...

Sharwoods sweet chilli sauce.Try a dip.
Review of Sharwoods Sweet Chilli Dipping Sauce by
MandyMinx
Advantages: A good accompanyment for any meal.
Disadvantages: Bottle could be bigger
...With a family to feed on a tight budget I am always on the look out for that little something that will transform the most basic of meals into something special.I am pleased to tell you that I have finally found what I was looking for in SHARWOODS SWEET CHILLI DIPPING SAUCE.
The sauce is based on a Szechaun recipe.Szechaun is the largest province in China, humid and wet in the summer and mild in the winter, it is one of Chinas rice bowl areas, and is well known in the Orient for producing dishes combining hot, sweet, sour flavours all at once and they certainly achieve that here.
Ingredients;
Water
Sugar
Chillies(25%)
Tamarind
Modified corn starch
Acetic Acid
Salt
Citric Acid
This is a very versitile sauce that Sharwoods reccomend as suitable with Chicken, Pork, Turkey,Vegetables and even Tofu.Personally I found it perfect...

TRY THESE THAI DELIGHTS
Review of Walkers Sensations - Thai Sweet Chilli by
princesssoapy
Advantages: see op
Disadvantages: see op
...After trying the four cheese and red onion flavour and not really liking them too much I was very skeptical about trying any more flavours but finally gave in and bought a bag of Thai sweet chilli flavour.
This flavour is so much better than the other one, I am actually getting addicted to these, which is not good!!
Walkers sensations also come in three other flavours which are;
Sea salt and cracked black pepper flavour
Oven roasted chicken and thyme flavour
Sea salt and malt vinegar
As I have said the four cheese and red onion flavour one I was not impressed at all with but I might have found the flavour for me.
This Thai sweet chilli flavour is tangy, spicy and sweet. They are suitable for vegetarians and actually include ground chilli in the ingredients.
Full list of ingredients is
Potatoes,
vegetable oil,
Lactose,
Rusk,
soy...

Thai sweet chilli sauce
Review of Uncle Bens THai Sweet Chilli Sauce by
yackers1
Advantages: Easy oriental cooking
Disadvantages: Too much like Kung Po?
..., this is not one for all you Atkins fans out there.
When compared to Sharwoods Kung Po, the Thai sweet chilli sauce:
1) Contains fewer calories (Kung Po - 175Kcal per 100g)
2) Contains a bit more protein (Kung Po - 0.6g per 100g)
3)Contains a lot less carbs (Kung Po 41.2g per 100g - maybe this is a Atkins friendly sauce after all! Lol)
4)Contains less fat (Kung Po - 0.9g per 100g)
Cooking with this sauce is really, really easy. Stir fry some meat (What does the jar recommend - you guessed it! Chicken (surprise, surprise) or pork) add the sauce and cook on the hob for a further 4 - 5 mins. Serve with rice.
Personally, I find that prawns pick up the flavour of this sauce really, really well. When cooking with prawns I would recommend using fresh king prawns or tiger prawns. The frozen variet tend to shrink far too much and end up the size of smarties...

Southern fried chicken wraps
Review of Recipes for Snacks by
emmachef
Advantages: You can do alternatives with fillings like fish fingers or vegi burgers
Disadvantages: none that I can think of
...Southern fried Chicken wraps:
Ingredients:
4 southern fried chicken breasts (either frozen or fresh)
8 wraps
1/2 iceberg lettuce, shredded
Mayonnaise
Salsa sauce
or Sweet chilli sauce
or BBq sauce
Mehod:
1. Cook the Southern fried chicken like it says on the packet.
2. When its cooked slice them up and warm up the wraps in the microwave.
3. Spread the mayonnaise and the desired sauce in the middle of the wraps and put the lettuce on top.
4. Place some of the chicken slices being careful not to over fill it because you need to wrap it.
5. To wrap it up you need to fold over the 2 opposite sides and then roll it over so all sides are keeping the contents of all the filling inside so none of it can fall out.
6. You can serve it as a snack on its own or with a side salad and chips for a teatime meal.
It also makes a really nice meal...

It's a bit nippy.
Review of Tesco Healthy Eating Sweet Chilli Chicken by
DarkDraiman
Advantages: Lots of chicken and noodle, which tastes great.
Disadvantages: Occasional hard bits in the meals are quite offputting. Smells bad.
...Tesco's healthy living frozen range presents great value for money. 5 for £3.50 is a great price for these ready meals which are quite generous in size.
This review is for the healthy living chilli chicken. Seeing that it includes chilli, it is quite naturally a spicy meal. I find that it is quite strong, but seeing as enjoy chilli, it's also very appealing to me. If you're a fan of milder things though, stay away.
This meal is 400g, and contains 392 kcals. So, it's great for dieters on the go.
I've only tried cooking it in the microwave, which takes 10mins, with a quick stir in between. Although i find that it's better to give it an extra minute to make sure its thoroughly cooked, as sometimes it seemed to be a bit colder in the middle of the dish. Although that's probably because i didn't mix it well enough in between.
Now...

Sweet and Chilli, the perfect combination
Review of Walkers Sensations - Thai Sweet Chilli by
galaxynicole
Advantages: taste lovely
Disadvantages: Too many is too hot
...Walkers Sensations Thai Sweet Chilli
I absolutely love Walkers Sensations crisps. I don't normally do crisps but I make an exception for these any day. They come in all different flavours and size. My favourite is Thai Sweet Chilli. The other flavours are Oven Roasted Chicken with Lemon & Thyme, Lime & Thai Spices, Caramelised Onion & Balsamic Vinegar, Four Cheese and Red Onion, Sea Salt & Pepper, Lamb & Moroccan Spices, Vintage Cheddar & Red Onion and Lamb & Mint. They also do Walker Sensations Popadoms and Walker Sensations Crackers.
So here before me, I have a bag of Thai Sweet Chilli (175g). Yummy. It has a lovely pictures of some red chillies on a plate with a crisp at the bottom of it. In big bold letters, it say Sensations in white on a black background. The Walker's logo is to the left and to the right it says "Divine...
