Sweet Chilli-Free Chicken
Review of Sweet Chilli Chicken by
ariadne
Advantages: Easy to prepare, nutritious, attractive.
Disadvantages: Tastes bland.
...I felt like having a hot lunch but couldn't be bothered to cook, so I thought I would try this product which has been lurking in my freezer for a while. Before I go on, I should point out that it is from the Findus "Feeling Great!" range - they do not produce a "Feeling Good" range, despite the Ciao category name.
Initial Impressions
=
Where available, the product is located in the freezer section of your supermarket. It is essentially chicken and pasta with a sweet chilli pepper sauce, interspersed with a small selection of vegetables - the sort of meal that is normally described as "[standard meal] with a twist".
The box looks very appealing; the main picture being a colourful photo of the cooked food. It is cunningly designed with two slot tabs at each side, which you pull out to open the flaps. The food...

Tesco Healthy Eating Sweet Chilli Chicken
Review of Tesco Healthy Eating Sweet Chilli Chicken by
macteykith
Advantages: sounds exotic, cheap
Disadvantages: WHERES THE CHICKEN!!!!!
...Not a fan of sweet chilli, I thought I would give this a go.
It comes with a multibuy, 5 for £4.
Firstly, yes its lowcal ( around 350) but thats because its high in salt and fat AND theres nothing in the box!
Its a small portion, as always. Cooking by microwave is better than the oven, simply because the middle always ends up colder to the edges with these meals.
It comes with noodles. Two separate bits, but of course, noodles and chicken dont cook at the same rate so you run the risk of having only one side done properly if you dont separate them out. You shouldnt have to do this, so is needless fussing and contadictory to the ' easy ready meal' idea.
Smellwise, imagine boiled watery noodles, and thats your smell.
Once cooked, assuming you havent lost half of it trying to serve it up, you then find...

I wasn't steaming - I was quite chillied
Review of Marks & Spencer Steam Cuisine Sweet Chilli Chicken by
Suzela
Advantages: Quite healthy and tasty
Disadvantages: Expensive
...In between customer appointments yesterday I decided to call my friend to see if she wanted to go out for lunch as I was in the neighbourhood. She said she wasn't feeling too great but she did have some nice low fat things in that I could eat (she always worries about cooking for me as I need to have such a low fat diet) if I just wanted to pop round. So I did and she asked if Sweet Chilli Chicken was ok for me. This sounded quite tempting (and I was quite hungry) and so she produced two Marks & Spencer Steam Cuisine packets from the fridge.
Marks & Spencer sweet chilli chicken has come in many guises over the years as part of the Count on us range and full fat varieties but I hadn't seen in it in this form before. My friend said she found it by the Count on Us section but it is just had their Eat Well symbol (eat well on a black...

Thai sweet chilli sauce
Review of Uncle Bens THai Sweet Chilli Sauce by
yackers1
Advantages: Easy oriental cooking
Disadvantages: Too much like Kung Po?
...sauces, this is not one for all you Atkins fans out there.
When compared to Sharwoods Kung Po, the Thai sweet chilli sauce:
1) Contains fewer calories (Kung Po - 175Kcal per 100g)
2) Contains a bit more protein (Kung Po - 0.6g per 100g)
3)Contains a lot less carbs (Kung Po 41.2g per 100g - maybe this is a Atkins friendly sauce after all! Lol)
4)Contains less fat (Kung Po - 0.9g per 100g)
Cooking with this sauce is really, really easy. Stir fry some meat (What does the jar recommend - you guessed it! Chicken (surprise, surprise) or pork) add the sauce and cook on the hob for a further 4 - 5 mins. Serve with rice.
Personally, I find that prawns pick up the flavour of this sauce really, really well. When cooking with prawns I would recommend using fresh king prawns or tiger prawns. The frozen variet tend to shrink far too much...

Sweet and Chilli, the perfect combination
Review of Walkers Sensations - Thai Sweet Chilli by
galaxynicole
Advantages: taste lovely
Disadvantages: Too many is too hot
...Walkers Sensations Thai Sweet Chilli
I absolutely love Walkers Sensations crisps. I don't normally do crisps but I make an exception for these any day. They come in all different flavours and size. My favourite is Thai Sweet Chilli. The other flavours are Oven Roasted Chicken with Lemon & Thyme, Lime & Thai Spices, Caramelised Onion & Balsamic Vinegar, Four Cheese and Red Onion, Sea Salt & Pepper, Lamb & Moroccan Spices, Vintage Cheddar & Red Onion and Lamb & Mint. They also do Walker Sensations Popadoms and Walker Sensations Crackers.
So here before me, I have a bag of Thai Sweet Chilli (175g). Yummy. It has a lovely pictures of some red chillies on a plate with a crisp at the bottom of it. In big bold letters, it say Sensations in white on a black background. The Walker's logo is to the left and to the right it says...

Hey Chilli.. you're sweet!
Review of Walkers Sensations - Thai Sweet Chilli by
vickitomlinson
Advantages: Taste - absolutely gorgeous, lovely balanced flavour
Disadvantages: Slightly greasy and really fattening!
...are:
- Sea Salt and Cracked Black Pepper
- Oven Roasted Chicken and Thyme
- Thai Sweet Chilli (the subject of this review)
- Four Cheese and Red Onion
- Slow Roasted Lamb and Mint Flavour
- Tangy Tomato and Red Pepper Salsa
The different products in the Sensations range all look pretty similar – each flavour comes in a fairly similar white foil bag with a different picture on the front of the bag according to the flavour. The top left corner, carries a small Walkers logo with the word “sensations” in large white letters against a black background across the top of the bag. Beneath that is a black and white picture of freshly harvested potatoes in a basket. The Thai Chilli flavour has beneath that a photograph of bright red chillis, a tempting glimpse of what might lie inside…
As usual, the back...

Sharwoods sweet chilli sauce.Try a dip.
Review of Sharwoods Sweet Chilli Dipping Sauce by
MandyMinx
Advantages: A good accompanyment for any meal.
Disadvantages: Bottle could be bigger
...With a family to feed on a tight budget I am always on the look out for that little something that will transform the most basic of meals into something special.I am pleased to tell you that I have finally found what I was looking for in SHARWOODS SWEET CHILLI DIPPING SAUCE.
The sauce is based on a Szechaun recipe.Szechaun is the largest province in China, humid and wet in the summer and mild in the winter, it is one of Chinas rice bowl areas, and is well known in the Orient for producing dishes combining hot, sweet, sour flavours all at once and they certainly achieve that here.
Ingredients;
Water
Sugar
Chillies(25%)
Tamarind
Modified corn starch
Acetic Acid
Salt
Citric Acid
This is a very versitile sauce that Sharwoods reccomend as suitable with Chicken, Pork, Turkey,Vegetables and even Tofu.Personally I found...

Review of Walkers Sensations - Thai Sweet Chilli by
chizzie
Advantages: very tasty, very hot, too addictive
Disadvantages: can be pricy
...THEY TASTE LIKE:-
As i said they are sweet but spicy and leave a tangy taste in your mouth. They can be very hot so be prepared - they are not for the faint hearted. They contain garlic powder, ground chilli, soy sauce, tomato powder and onion powder - quite a combination.
NUTRITIONAL INFORMATION:-
For those intereseted or weight watching a 40g bag contains 194 calories and 10.8g fat.
They also claim to be suitable for vegetarians.
ANY OTHER INFORMATION:-
They are available in larger bags at a price varying between £1.00 and £1.50
For those who like these other flavours in the Sensations range include:-
sea salt and black pepper
Oven roasted chicken and thyme
Four cheese and red onion
Slow roasted lamb and mint
Tangy tomato and red pepper salsa.
In my opinion these are definately the best (especially washed down...

Where's the chilli?
Review of Walkers Sensations - Thai Sweet Chilli by
jammy_banana
Advantages: crunchy
Disadvantages: not very spicy, expensive
...Free if you spend over £15 (ok so I made them up but you get the idea).
Walker’s posh crisps go by the name of Sensations and come in a wide variety of flavours. My sister is quite partial to their Roast Chicken and Thyme flavour or their Roast Lamb and Mint (which is odd as my mum regularly makes roast dinners but my sister will not eat these). However I never got the opportunity to try them (I value my life) preferring to stick to my Walkers French Fries. Life as a student has me doing many funny things, like searching the internet for free food. Every so often I come up trumps. I managed to find more e-coupons that would let me get a 40gram bag of Walkers Thai Sweet Chilli Sensations for free. Off I popped to my nearest Spar with my token grasped in my hot little hand to claim my free food.
Granted the bag is very, very nice...

Walkers Sensations Thai Sweet Chilli
Review of Walkers Sensations - Thai Sweet Chilli by
spam27
Advantages: Really tasty
Disadvantages: Bit too hot for some
...Walkers Sensations- Thai Sweet Chilli
Now this is a crisps and a half
Walker's sensations were introduced many years ago and come in a variety of really interesting flavours such as Lamb and Mint and Jalapeno and sour Cream. My favourite flavour is Thai Sweet Chilli.
The crisps are varied in shape and size and have a very crunchy texture, quite a hard crisp. When you eat one you instantly taste strong, nippy chilli flavour and when you start to chew you begin to taste a sweet cooler flavour. When I have finished eating my tongue is nipping and it's great. I sometimes find that the strength of the chilli varies from bag to bag; my last bag was really strong.
The crisps are available in individual 35g sized bags and also larger share size bags. The individual bags cost approx 45p and the large share size bags cost approx £1...
