Sweet and cheap

...thick pint icing - a bit like the 'Fab Bakin' boys cupcakes'. The sponge is really soft, light and fluffy though it doesn?t have any flavouring like vanilla which is a shame. However, the thick, sweet and gorgeously chewy icing made up for it. I love to simply take off the big icing topping and eat it by itself. It's a shame it didn't have any strawberry flavouring though. 12 mini toffee apple muffins - I usually love anything with apple, like apple pies and the lark but I wasn't overly impressed with these. The muffin itself was golden brown soft and sticky to touch but there wasn't much filling at all (about half a teaspoon) which was a let down and made the rest of the muffin a bit bland and dry. When I got my loan in though I had to treat myself even though this is not what my student loan is for. ...I was first introduced to sweet potatoes when my eldest child, now 7, was a baby. A lot of the information I received on baby weaning recommended sweet potatoes as an ideal weaning food, and this was how I first used it. I am no great cook, but I can prepare basic family meals, neither can I afford to spend too much money nor waste it on foods that my children will not eat. I used sweet potato as a weaning food, firstly it was on its own and then over time I added other vegetables. I cook my sweet potato in the microwave, they are very easy to prepare. A quick wash and then peel, I then cut them into chunks and place in a microwaveable dish and microwave until soft, usually about 7-8 minutes, depending on how many I am doing at a time. When they are cooled I just puree them down with a hand blender and feed to my baby when needed...

Smell sweet as candy!

...I have never really been into the whole celebrity perfume line but I decided I needed a new perfume for Christmas so went sniffing at my local Boots! After sniffing a lot of perfumes I opted for this one even though it was a celebrity line- I figured something like that should not put me off what is a lovely if at times a bit of a sickly fragrance. This I would put in the "foodie" line of fragrances in that both hubby and I reckon it smells like cotton candy! That's a pretty good indication of how sweet it is! But if you prefer light fragrances to the strong florals then it may be one to consider! I got mine from Boots in a gift set which came to about £21 and included a lovely shimmer body lotion of the same fragrance.
