...Mint has a genus of around twenty five species, but in fact there are hundreds of different varieties. Most of us think as mint of a herb that we only use in cooking when in fact it can be quite an attractive plant in it`s own right. Mint in general likes a cool shady spot in the garden and it will flourish given the right conditions. Many of us have at some point made the mistake of planting a sprig and ending up with a patch that has grown out of control. I have often grown my mint in a terracotta pot, this keeps the plant at bay and if the pot is well situated it can be an ideal way of attaining a decent crop. If it looks as though a frost may be in the offing then move the pot closer to the wall or the fence to protect the plant. ...It goes without saying that I struggle to write reviews that don't include some medicinal information. From mint imperials to peppermint tea, mint is a highly versatile medicinal herb. It has a unique, refreshing taste and is one of my favourite flavours. Historically Speaking The medicinal uses for mint can be traced back to medieval Europe. The earliest written description of the plant was way back in 1669. However its Latin name Mentha palustris, Peper-Mint was noted down in 1704 and its healing properties described in 1705 by the pharmaceutical author Dale. We Are Family Now plant biology was never my strong point but even I know that Ciao has made a small error. In the herb categories, mint and spearmint are listed separately. In fact, Spearmint, just like Peppermint and Pennyroyal belong to the same species family...

Definately different

Advantages: Cheap and cheerful
Disadvantages: The chocolate flavour could become a bit sickly

...the edges are much thinner. The packaging is that of an oblong box with chocolate swirls and green intermingled with each other, which kind of gives a general impression of the contents. Each piece is coated in a white crispy shell, which generally holds the mint flavouring in the chocolate mint flavour. The soft centre is dark brown and unless I've got it all totally wrong I'm guessing this is where the chocolate flavour is hidden. Being that you have to get through the crisp to get to the soft centre it will be no surprise to learn that the first predominant flavour is that of the mint. It is a soft calming mint not too harsh or strong and is quite pleasing. After a few chews when the crispy shell has been broken down you get a rush of chocolate and again it is a very pleasant taste, not too sweet or indeed not too much of whatever it is...
