swim nappy favorites
Review of Huggies Little Swimmers Nappies by
robertjohn
Advantages: easy to put on
Disadvantages: expensive if you swim regulary
...I purchased these swim nappies when i realized i had lost little robertjohn's reusable swim nappy. At first i thought that they would swell up as ordinary disposables do...i was wrong. They did not swell up with water and they did not pull little robertjohn down, either when swimming or standing beside the pool. I was quite impressed with the way in which they protected robertjohn from any embarassing situations - even if he did the business the poop would stayed firmly inside (i know from experience). The swim nappy itslef slips on as if baby was putting on pants. They are easy to thread through baby's legs, and they tear at the sides in oder to get them off. This is particulary helpful when you consider the fact that one would not want to pull down the swim nappy in the event of a poop. therefore tearing them off is a bonus - for both...

Nappies for your little water baby
Review of Huggies Little Swimmers Nappies by
mummy2harry
Advantages: Fun designs, easy to use, widely available
Disadvantages: Not that cheap
...I wanted to start my son swimming young, and wasn't sure about whether I could use disposable nappies in a swimming pool, so I did a little research by asking a few friends, and I found out that it probably isn't a good idea as they swell up very quickly! So I went off to the supermarket, and I saw these on the shelves. I grabbed a packet of small Huggies Little Swimmers, and reluctantly handed over my £4.99, which I thought was quite steep for just a few nappies, and got ready to take my then 3 month old swimming.
The nappies are made by Huggies, who obviously also make a lot of nappy products so you can be quite sure that they know what they are doing. They come in 3 different sizes, and with different designs on, so you, or your picky toddler, can choose which ones they want to have to avoid any arguments. The sizes are as follows...

Swim baby swim!!!
Review of Aqua Nappies by
wilkinsongentle
Advantages: Saves unsightly Yellow tinged water and floating poo!!!
Disadvantages: Can be a bit restrictive with circulation!!
...Aqua nappys are fantastic, what did we ever do without them?
My little one was 6 onths when we first went swimming and obviould not potty trained at all. I purchased some Aqua nappys and took the plung in to the pool.
I was slightly nervous as to if these nappys could withstand a runny baby poo or if i would have to make a swift and embarrasing exit from the pool!
On the visit to the pool i put my little girl in the nappy, it was a tight fit dsespite buying a size which should easily have fitted within the weight constraints.
There is my first reccomendation!! Buy bigger than you need!!
The nappy looked a very snug fit, i wouldnt want to try and put one on a wet baby thats for sure!!
In the pool my little girl seemed happy and i almost forgot about the nappy!
At the end of the swim when it came to remove the nappy i had...

I'm Forever changing nappies,!!
Review of Pampers Nappies by
cleanfreakmama
Advantages: good quality in smaller sizes, good customer service
Disadvantages: pricey, can leak in larger sizes, small sizing
...and huggies that do travel sized packs of nappies which are always handy in emergencies. The have an excellent customer service program and all their details on how to be contacted etc are clearly printed on every packet.
There are several different kinds of pampers, from pampers active to pampers pull ups. They even have swim nappies which again I found were okay but tended to fill up with water quite quickly. You can buy pampers pretty much anywhere from supermarkets to corner shops stock them.
So would I recommend them, I would have to say yes because on a whole they have been pretty good but I would warn that if they are new or improved watch your babies beautiful bum carefully and look for a good alternative when they get a bit bigger and are still using nappies....

Swim time fun
Review of Huggies Little Swimmers Nappies by
upton_girl
Advantages: Leak proof swim time
Disadvantages: A bit expensive
...My boyfriend and myself decided that we were going to get our daughter Aston used to swimming as soon as we could. We waited until her first immunisations at 2 months old.
Off we went to the shop to buy Aston her swimming costume and then the big decision time came.........which swimming nappies to buy. Looking at the shelf we decided on the Huggies Little swimmers, thinking that a named brand would be the better choice, and we were right.
First of all the bright blue and green packaging caught my eye with 'little swimmers' in bold writing and two very happy looking children on the front of them. The little swimmers themselves are a unisex nappy with Disney's Little Mermaid, Tigger and Nemo on them. They nappies just slip on like a pair of pants and have very easy tearable sides for the easy removal after a swim.
The only...

who on earth would write about nappies
Review of Huggies Little Swimmers Nappies by
flupen
Advantages: keeps poo out of the pool
Disadvantages: expensive and difficult to get up
...Who on earth is going to be interested in an opinion about nappies I asked myself. Well, you just might be because the holiday season is looming and if your little angel is still in nappies, then you are going to need some protection for them if you take them into the sea or swimming pool.
My own little angel is eight months old and we have been going swimming since he was six months. I looked around at the range of swimming nappies available, including re-usable ones, but decided to try these as they were recommended by a friend.
Huggies little swimmers are like pull up pants but specially designed for use in water. They are made from an “unique absorbent material” which protects but does not swell in water. The legs have the usual elasticated seams which stop any leaks and to help ease of removable after the swim, they have...

A Nice Relaxing Swim
Review of Huggies Little Swimmers Nappies by
Moaty
Advantages: You are able to take your child swimming without fear of accidents
Disadvantages: Quite hard to put on young babies.
...I have three children. And apart from certain makes of re-usable nappies I don't remember there being disposable swim nappies when I had my first two. Perhaps I just didn't spot them in the shops.
I remember taking my son (now almost 6) and my daughter (now 3 and a half) at a very young age. And whilst they loved swimming trips, I was always very nervous about the extra's that might end up floating in the pool. I was extremely lucky that everytime I went we did not have an accident. I would have been mortified! I was brave as I am sure that lots of other mothers have been and took them in just their swimming costumes.
When my third child another girl was born in February I received the usual bounty pack from the hospital. Inside was an advert for the Huggies Little Swimmers. I at first thought that they would not be any good...

what a lovely swim
Review of Huggies Little Swimmers Nappies by
wfiona
Advantages: worry free swimming
Disadvantages: seem expensive
...When my daughter was a year old her uncle bought her a term of swimming lessons for her birthday. I looked at all the different types of nappies and decided to try Huggies little swimmers.
To date she has never had a poo while swimming but friends children have and they do seem to hold it all in.
They seem to be comfortable as well and look quite cute under her swimming costume.
The only problem i have found is that you can only put them on just before they go swimming as they don't seem to be leak free if used on dry land lol. This happened to me as i use to change her before we left to go to the health club and arrived one day with a very damp child and car seat.
They have tear away sides which does make changing a lot easier when u have a wet wriggling baby.
They are made by huggies, come in two colours blue and pink...

Swim swim swim
Review of Huggies Little Swimmers Nappies by
tinajune1
Advantages: Dont leak, cheerful pictures, stretchy
Disadvantages: None
...I started taking my daughter swimming when she was twelve weeks old, I wasnt sure what was available being a first time mum with regards to swimming and the obvious toilet situation, anyway, after scouring the shelves, managed to find Huggies Little Swimmers and they are brilliant! Nice and comfy for my daughter and great afterwards as you can just tear the sides to take them off. They also do not bulge or swell up and fit really well round her legs. So far I have had no experience of any leaks or anything like that. The colourful pictures mean that if your baby isnt too happy about having a swimsuit on, they can just swim with the nappy on and it looks fine, they come in 3 different designs, Little Mermaid, Finding Nemo and Winnie the Pooh. They are unisex and even the little mermaid pictures arent too girly for boys! I think the prices...

Look mum I can swim too!!
Review of Aqua Nappies by
mumofone
Advantages: lightweight
Disadvantages: only came in blue
...Swimming is an activity that I wanted to do with my daughter as soon as she had her first lot of injections, but what to take her in?
I obviously didn't want any little messes in the pool, I went to all the usual baby shops but could only find the disposable swimming nappies, this is something I had been advised not to get by a friend of mine, aparently they soak up almost the entire a pool making it feel like your holding a lead weight instead of your cute little baby, plus these things only came in huge sizes which was no good for my 09 week old baby.
I happened to pop into Boots where I came across there own brand of swim nappy, except this one was a re-usuable, allbeit in blue.
The way this worked was it had a strong elastic around the legs and the waist part had a velcro strip that came around the side and then had a little...
