...I spent a lot of my time swimming either training or competing. I have been training since I was about 8 or 9 and I am still doing it today which means I have been training for about 5 or 6 years. Throughout this time I have achieved so much and have had so much fun. I love the sport even though many of my friends make fun of me because of the swimwear which can be uncomfortable at times and shows a lot of skin and is always tight. TRAINING As I just said I have been training for about 5 or 6 years but before that I did swimming lessons and so on. I train at Bo'ness Swimming club and have trained there since the very beginning. I train three times a week on Monday nights from 7 until 9, on Thursday nights from 6 until 9 and on Fridays nights from 5.30 until 7. Colourful swim nappies!

Advantages: Useful, reusable
Disadvantages: awkward to remove

...I never realised how complicated it was to take your baby swimming until I had my own. Then I realised I would have to be more prepared than just take a towel and a swimming costume, I would have to invest in some form of water proof nappy and I didn't have a clue where to start, whether the costumes with an inbuilt nappy were suitable enough or if I just get a big bulk pack of 'huggies little swimmers'. I did try the bulk packets of huggies swimmers which are suitable for babies to wear underneath their swimming costume but then when my baby out grew her costume I decided to invest in one of these Bambino Mio Swim Nappies as they don't need a costume on top so it was one less item to worry about stuffing into my bag. To Swim or not to Swim?

Advantages: Keeps you fit, gives you a challenge, gives you self confidence, makes you feel good!
Disadvantages: Swimming requires a swimming pool, if you don't have one near by then you are a very unlucky!

SWIMMING WITH THE FISHIES AND THE MER-FOLK

...!!! (Really!!!) But take my advise, better to buy a snugly fitting costume, than one which feels a little loose!!! Other things that people use in the swimming pool are goggles. If your eyes are sensitive to the chlorinated water, or you wear contact lenses, this is a great way of protecting your eyes from becoming puffy, red and sore. They are also great if you like swimming underwater a lot. They are relatively cheap - I've seen them in sports shops for under a tenner, though I imagine as with anything, the more you spend, the better quality you can expect. Some people find it useful to wear earplugs, as the feeling of having water in your ears is often very uncomfortable. In my local Asda we have a photo centre, cafe, George, electricals, homewear, toys, bakery, pizzaria, rottisary (chicken place lol), fresh meats counter and all the usual foody aisles plus we have a petrol station, cash machines and bus stop. It's the largest shopping store we have although we do have a Tesco, Lidl, Aldi, Co-Op, Farm Foods and Iceland.
