...I spent a lot of my time swimming either training or competing. I have been training since I was about 8 or 9 and I am still doing it today which means I have been training for about 5 or 6 years. Throughout this time I have achieved so much and have had so much fun. I love the sport even though many of my friends make fun of me because of the swimwear which can be uncomfortable at times and shows a lot of skin and is always tight. TRAINING As I just said I have been training for about 5 or 6 years but before that I did swimming lessons and so on. I train at Bo'ness Swimming club and have trained there since the very beginning. I train three times a week on Monday nights from 7 until 9, on Thursday nights from 6 until 9 and on Fridays nights from 5.30 until 7. To Swim or not to Swim?

Advantages: Keeps you fit, gives you a challenge, gives you self confidence, makes you feel good!
Disadvantages: Swimming requires a swimming pool, if you don't have one near by then you are a very unlucky!

...Look Mummy I can swim is one of the Baby Born range. The doll is slightly smaller than the normal Baby Born dolls at just 32cm compared to 43cm for the normal doll. The doll comes with a small towel, just big enough for her to sit on, not big enough to wrap around the doll, the swimsuit with buoyancy strip and a pair of flip flops. It takes 3 x AAA batteries which are not included with the doll. The rrp is £24.99 but I got it for £19.86 from Amazon. It is built with the same quality as the rest of the Baby Born rage, and although there doesn't seem to be any rubber seals around the battery compartment, there hasn't been any water leakage onto the batteries. When you place the doll in water it is supposed to swim, and it does swim, but it?s obviously a learner doll because it?s not the best swimmer in the world! She's rather slow...

...Nine months ago, in a Sports Centre near my home. A five year old drowned in the swimming pool after leaving his father and jumping back in the pool while he should of been getting dressed. Now there are several people, that could of prevented this tragic accident. The life guards who happened to be chatting and his father who was trying to get his younger son. The two life guards in question were suspended and then sacked for incompetence.
