...I purchased my Graco Playtime Swing before my second son was even born. With my first born I was given an older version, and to me it was the best thing since sliced bread. How parents coped before hand I don't know, they must have had a lot of patience and tired arms! If I need to do some work or just have a few mins to myself the swing comes out and keeps my son entertained for a good half hour at least. The music volume can also be turned up and down and can be set to be activated by child or parent The lights are red blue green and yellow The swing is blue and has fish and seahorses starfish and loads of other sea creatures which are brightly coloured (orange, green,blue and purple ) The other difference from the picture on this review is on the arms that rock the swing there is 2 filled water bubbles on each side one has an orange seahorse and the other has a yellow fish . When the swing rocks these look as if they are bobbing in the sea the toys that you pull to activate the music and lights are also sea creatures one is a green whale and one is a orange fish The buckle for holding baby also is cushioned by a brightly Orange fish I don't want to go into to much technical detail as I feel I would just be mirroring the other... ...always seemed to get annoyed and start shouting at me. So, having put her in the swing to soothe her I then needed something else to soothe her with when I got her out. I would recommend buying an open-topped swing as I would think that it would be easier but only if the swing is going to be in the same room as you and is not to free you hands to do other things as they are not ever so sturdy and baby's should be supervised in them. The swing cost me £39.99 plus VAT from Makro and is a godsend when me arms are about to fall off but is not perfect at any rate. Maybe a more expensive model would be better.... Read review

Always start by choosing who is going to serve, or rather, as in our family, argue about who is going to serve for the first 15 minutes, and swap servers at the end of each game. You can basically make the rules up according to however you personally want to play. Be warned , though, this game can HURT ! When I play against my partner he always hits the ball as hard as he possibly can and I have suffered many a black eye as a result, however, if played sensibly, this is a great, fun family game. You can also play this on it's own, with many benefits, firstly it's fun, secondly it is a great form of physical exercise and, ladies, you can really tone those upper arms ! My daughter used it for about 8 months and it has since been passed on to two friends for them to use for their babies. It is one of the best baby buys and has proved to be great value for money and very hard wearing. Advantages: it's good for getting your baby to sleep Great if you are going on holiday or a visit to friends or relatives. Cheerful animal characters.
Disadvantages: Don't leave your baby in it for too long it's good for getting your baby your baby to sleep, but once they are asleep take them out as it isn't good for them. It would be good if there was a 3rd toy that was slightly lower for younger babies to reach.

...For her first birthday my daughter was given by her Grandparents the ELC single swing fram with the Dolphin Swing Seat. Our branch does not have these on display so we could not see what they looked like beforehand but had ordered them from the catalogue as we thought that the Dolphin Swing Seat would particularly appeal to my daughter as she is animal crazy. When my husband and I started erecting the swing alarm bells rang when we noticed that the swing and seat were made by different companies and the seat had, written on the fitting instructions, that the seat was to be fitted no higher than 18 to 24 inches from the ground. We could not do this because there was insufficient rope.
