Swisstec T42
Review of Swisstec T 42/DVI by
gmkneen
Advantages: Cheap
Disadvantages: Heavy possible hazard
...I bought this television from ASDA for £499 to replace the panasonic I was renting at £55 per month, it came with a year guarentee so I couldn\'t loose, sadly I could the remote broke in the second week and SWISSTEC have yet to replace it. That besides the TV is fantastic, our vicar touched the screen because he couldn't believe the image wasn't real, and he believes in GOD. The sound is great both in mono and stereo. I have linked it up to a surround sound system and the results are equally as good, even at volume at 50% which will make your ears bleed.
The image is crystal clear while using my SKY and freeview and double imaging loss in clarity does not occur at every angle of viewing as I have witnessed on other sets.
The instructions for set up and use via the underscreen buttons are easy to follow and use. However, I do find...

LCD Soundsystem - Sound of Silver
Review of Sound Of Silver - LCD Soundsystem by
Slamiton
Advantages: Quality throughout
Disadvantages: Leaves you wanting more
...LCD Soundsystem's main man is James Murphy who is the creative and conceptual force behind LCD Soundsystem but he also has a collective of friends/session musicians who help create his music. James Murphy is also the co-owner of LCD Soundsystems label (DFA, with his partner being Tim Goldsworthy) Another fact that may surprise you is this very British sounding sound of LCD Soundsystem is created by an American.
Sound of Silver is the follow up album to the debut album called LCD Soundsystem. The debut was and is a phenomenal album and having that as the standard would be enough to create pressure on the follow up which will inevitably be compared to the ground breaking debut. The biggest compliment I can pay is Sound of Silver surpasses the debut and also progresses the 'LCD' sound, apparently termed punk funk
The album is made up...

Bush LCD23TV004 - Affordable space saver
Review of Bush LCD23TV004 by
NinaE
Advantages: affordable, good picture quality, easy setup, wall mountable
Disadvantages: only 1 scart socket, tinny sound quality
...Due to the lack of reviews on this TV, I decided to write one myself. Maybe a bad idea because I have never written a review about a TV, but considering what is out there so far ( I couldn't really find any information on it before I bought it) , it will hopefully be of help to some of you.
Lets start at the beginning. With prices of LCD TVs coming down, I decided to get rid of my bulky TV in the bedroom and find myself a nice flat wall mountable LCD. This was mainly due to lack of space, we all know how small english houses can be. After much research, I stumbled onto this one, and the price was too tempting to miss. I bought it for £399.99 at QED-UK, by far the cheapest, Argos has it on sale for just under £500 right now. It was delivered the following day in a very sturdy box and securely packed. At the same time, I bought a VESA...

Save some space with this stylish 15" LCD TV!!
Review of Mikomi 15 LCD 250 by
yours_ilze
Advantages: Stylish, Light, Cheap, Good Size, Quality Sound & Vision
Disadvantages: Not suitable for use as a PC monitor
...I have not had a TV for last 4years! Can you believe this?
Last week I have finally decided to get one.
Since my bed-sit has not much of a space for a standrd size TV, I had to look for something that would fit onto my study table where I keep my laptop, CD player, phone and Homechoice Internet-Digital TV-Phone Box that requires a SCART socket in order to be compatible with TV... so....
I have decided that LCD is exactly what I need! I have looked at various web sites, including Tesco and Sainsburys and I have come across this Mikomi 15" LCD TV at Argos for just £149.99 which is current sale price!
I went to Argos couple of days ago and bought this LCD TV with my Argos store card that gives me 3months time to pay off the purchase! I also got £10 Argos gift voucher as I have spent over £100 :) So I guess not only I have found...

BUSH 27" WIDESCREEN LCD TV
Review of Bush LCD27TV005 by
kismet
Advantages: nice flat screen, sharp clear picture
Disadvantages: can the cat knock it over? not hd ready?
...this end of line 27" widescreen lcd flat television and just had to buy it. The only trouble was, that being end of line meant that you could not order it for delivery, so I did a search of all my local stores until I found one and we reserved it for collection the next day.
My husband came home with the tv, we unpacked it and installed it so easily, it was a dream.
The Techinical description of this television in the Argos catalogue is Bush LCD27TV005 27in Widescreen LCD TV.
The Argos order number is: 529/2150 and we paid £399.99. From what I have read online, this television was retailing at around £600 originially, but at the moment, all of the LCD televisions seem to be 26 or 30/32 inches, so it looks like they are phasing out the 27" ones.
The television is silver in colour and the speakers are each end of the television...

Philips 30" LCD Television
Review of Philips 170B2M LCD Televisions by
lona
Advantages: Brilliant picture and outstanding appearance
Disadvantages: No assurance on how long it will last
...asked how long an LCD screen could be expected to last, the customer service person said it was unknown as they are just newly out on the market.
As Philips themselves do not know the expectancy of this model I have decided not to accept a replacement and have gone for a convential widescreen telelvision until the LCD models are more fully tested.
This is only my personal view on this particular model and although I could have been just unlucky I would advise anyone who might be thinking of buying this Philips 30" LCD to ask as many questions regarding their durability as I don't think anyone knows and time will tell as to how they will stand up to regular use.
I will be sorry to see it go as I was so impressed with the quality of the picture but at the end of the day, I did not want to have a television that had...

NEC MultiSync LCD1770NX
Review of NEC MultiSync LCD1770NX by
owais997
Advantages: circular base, smooth, rounded edges with easy height and tilt and swivel adjustability
Disadvantages: The viewing angle loses contrast pretty quickly
...The 17” NEC MultiSync LCD1770NX, a flat-panel monitor featuring a thin-frame design, enhances your visual experience with superior screen performance, advanced technologies and comforting design elements. This model's Ambix dual-input technology ensures compatibility with today's and tomorrow's computer systems, while an integrated USB 2.0 hub connects you to all of your peripherals.
The LCD1770NX model has a circular base, smooth, rounded edges with easy height and tilt and swivel adjustability. This display does not
pivot.
The viewing angle loses contrast pretty quickly when moving left to right in front of the screen, but I found text to be very legible, even at small point sizes.
Straight out of the box, and without adjustment, the LCD1770NX display had a distinct blue cast, most noticeable in gray areas of an image...

Cheap flat screen LCD TV better than dearer ones
Review of Digilogic D15LCD by
laveyri
Advantages: cheap, small, good enough picture and sound quality for us
Disadvantages: haven't really found any
...When the one of the channel switches on the little television in our kitchen became dodgy - and after all it was about 25 years old - we decided to look for a new one and ended up at our local big Tesco superstore because the prices were cheaper. We were drawn to a range of small LCD televisions and at the time we thought that the Digilogic 15 inch television had one of the best pictures in the lower end of the price range. I had never heard of Digilogic but I now know that it is Tesco's own brand name for a range of electrical goods. We spoke to one of the sales people who said you could not go on the picture quality in the shop in making your choice as people fiddle with the controls(!) and as we were a bit afraid of buying a brand that we knew nothing about we opted for a slightly more expensive Bush model of the same size.
I...

Venturing into the world of budget LCD televisions
Review of Bush LCD 26 TV 016 HD by
Mainflava
Advantages: Easy to tune; clear, high quality picture, good sound
Disadvantages: None that I can see so far
....
Screen size......
Having looked at a number of flat panel TVs with screen sizes ranging from 15 to 32 inches, I decided to upgrade my normal screen size from 15 inches to 26 inches in order to provide that home cinema feel in a relatively small room. While large screens were also appealing, a combination of a tight budget (see above) and a small room with which the set would be located, forced my hand into the sub 32 inch category.
Bush LCD 26 inch TV
Eventually, after much searching, I stumbled across the above televison on offer for a shade over £300 including delivery - well inside my projected budget. On receipt of the television, I was suprised at just how light it was; weighing in at less than 17 kg meant that should I need to wall mount the unit, I could get away with much cheaper brackets and, I could even contemplate the tilt...
