However.... the following day the message was back. I decided that I would use the benefit of the offered live chat that came with the product and enetred a chat room. After been told I was 10th in the queue and waiting for 20 mins even though it had stated the wait was only 2 mins. I got into a conversation with Radiq who told me to completely uninstall the program and went through ways of opening folders etc to make sure that all of the previously installed versions of Symantec had gone... as he felt that this was the problem. Aaaarrghh Symantec!

Advantages: Blocks some viruses, as you'd expect.
Disadvantages: Way too slow at everything, impossible to get rid of.

I used Norton antivirus for about 5 months, before I could bear using it any longer! I'll be fair to it, I didn't get any viruses, but then again there are billions of antivirus programs that stop you from getting viruses, and you don't have to pay so much for them! A tale of Woe

Advantages: Maybe there would have been some if I could have got it to work properly

The guy assures me he will send me an e.mail with everything necessary to fix my problem . By now I am saying I think I'll just have my money back . However I agree to try the fixes he is sending me . Ten minutes later a long e.mail arrives . I start at the beginning where it tells me to download an uninstall from symantec which will be needed to begin to cure the problem . I download this and when I click on it a message box tells me 'Link has expired please contact --- here there is another link ' The other link is unaccessible to copy and paste or anything . I have a look at the rest of the e.mail and realise he has sent me detailed instructions of how to access my computers registry , alter lots of things...

...desktop users or update machines. Both of these require the HOST machine to be set to ?listen? for the call. This can be set up to start when someone logs on or run as a service in the background. This saves a user manually remembering. It has a great interface that is easy to understand and use. Big icons help the user understand what is going on along with a great help section. This is shown with a great file upload/download application very much like windows explorer. It beats most FTP managers! What is also great is that it compliments the great range of Symantec virus protection products and it totally cross compatible. Handy if you want to run one type of protection from one company . Symantec Endpoint Protection - excellent service from Digital

Advantages: Helpful staff, speedy delivery, good price

...I needed to buy this product (Symantec Endpoint Protection) for my office server and computers. I originally placed an order with Dabs, only to be told 'after' the order was placed that it was out of stock. I Googled, found Digital Fusion and was impressed with the Live Stock facility. I double checked by phoning (you can?t phone Dabs!), and the salesman was courteous and helpful. I placed the order on-line. As I had not dealt with Digital Fusion before, I paid by credit card to obtain Section 75 cover, as the order was over £100. This cost me £2.77, but the total price was still £12 less than BT Direct. Although £5 more than Dabs (after the credit card surcharge of £2.77), I had next day delivery, rather than wait a minimum of 3 days for Dabs (3 days after they got the item in!). The product arrived as promised...

The Best

Advantages: Fast, easy to use

...I first used this product when it was made by Quaterdeck, then it was a small chaotic to use, but now the big symantec boys have worked their wonderous magic on it and it is transformed into the all singing all dancing product. It can deal with, logged programs installed and clearing the internet cache. ok that is something that Ie can do by its self but this will deal with the cookies and nasty rubbish cluttering up your hard disk. It is also a lot faster then it use to be....

Don't buy Norton 360

...I strongly advise anyone thinking of buying this product to think again. I installed it on my laptop and desktop in late December. Throughout most of January I have been communicating with their technical support, the longest period being 5 hours 40 mins, to get it to work on the laptop. It blocks access to the internet, blocks emails and generally screws up the whole computer. They have given up and so have I. I have removed it and loaded a different product and now operation is slowly returning to normal. It took ages to undo all the changes. The chat sessions even filled up the hard disk, 8Gb being just one session of many. I am now having the same trouble with the desktop and so Symantec will be getting their software back with a demand for a refund. I have tried to give it zero stars but the system won't allow it....

Got a refund after slow installation!

This happened every day on one or other PC (normally both) despite the support from Symantec, meaning a wasted hour and a half at the start of every day. Shoppers of a certain age may remember spending eons waiting for software to load from a cassette recorder (ask yer dad) to early home computers like the Spectrum (whilst praying the dog didn't nudge the cable) and having to do this every time you wanted to use that particular bit of software. At one point I got quite nostalgic. 3 The support from Symantec is slow (around 48 hours to respond to an e-mail) or you have to pay premium rate phone charges for telephone support. I wasn't inclined to do this because a) the time spent uninstalling and reinstalling suggested that this might require a second mortgage and b) frankly, if...

Sorry, but i am disgusted

Advantages: Picks up SOME viruses, better then nothing.
