The Lost Symbol by Dan Brown- Ancient Mysteries

Advantages: A good read
Disadvantages: Part of the plot is not too convicing

.... Personally, it gives me a good reflection for my faith. And finally, even though there are a few issues with the book, overall it is still a good read. For those who are new to Dan Brown, I would not recommend to read it straight away as it may end up being different from your expectation. Reading other of his books will get you used to his style of writing. Then you can proceed with the Lost Symbol, which I think is slightly different to his other works....

The Energizer Battery Charger

...I had been intending to purchase a battery charger for quite a while. In fact I had even dropped hints to certain family members around Christmas time, but to no avail. I was recently reminded of this missing piece of equipment in my life when I rediscovered the PC lead to my digital camera. ...Getting fed up with constantly having to buy new batteries for our Wii remotes, we started looking into buying some of the rechargeable battery packs you can buy for them. I read a few reviews and decided that it would probably be better to buy a battery charger and a few sets of batteries instead. After looking around I found the Sony High Capacity Super Quick Charger For AA And AAA Batteries and for £16.99 with four AA batteries included it seemed like a good deal, almost all of our electrical items seem to be Sony so with it being a brand we trusted I bought it. I bought this charger last year because I bought a wireless mouse and keyboard so made more sense getting rechargeable batteries rather than spending money on normal batteries every few weeks. I went with Uniross as they make decent rechargeable batteries and are well known for it. This x-press 300 charges AAA, AA & 9V size batteries. It lets you charge 2 or 4 AA/AAA and one 9V batteries of the same type at the same time. It's suitable for AA, AAA and 9V (PP3) NiCd and NiH batteries. A 'smart' charger worth buying

Advantages: Low cost, Car charger inc, fast charge times, battery charge detection
Disadvantages: Cautious on overcharging leaving batteries not 100% full

...I picked up this charger a few days ago for £8 with 4 1000mah AAA batteries which seemed like a great price to me for a 'Smart' charger. In the package I got the charger (quite slim) a standard plug adaptor and a car charger making it ideal to take around with you ensuring you never miss out on a photo perfect moment. The charger has space for 2 or 4 AA or AAA batteries and has quite a rapid charge time. Here are the charge times quoted by Uniross: Charging Times: AA 1300mAh : 120 mins, AA 2500mAh : 255mins, AAA 900mAh : 180 mins It is not the fastest charger around but clearly not the slowest. Good battery charger for it's price

Advantages: Charges quickly, easy to use.
Disadvantages: Doesn't feel too strong... Not much of a problem.

Most battery chargers cost a lot more than this one did (I bought this one for about £12, from Amazon), so it was good to get a deal on it. The package includes the charger itself, 4 AA batteries and a car adapter, so you can charge your batteries in the car. The batteries are easy to insert, there are two spring-loaded extensions that spring out. These are so you can charge AAA batteries as well, and they fold away when you're charging AA batteries. Langdon Returns For Adventure No 3

Advantages: Sticks to the principles of the series
Disadvantages: written with the movie in mind rather than purely a book

...and comparisons back to the previous book were bound to be drawn. I personally have been looking forward to Lost Symbol but I seem to come from a smaller camp of Brown fans who think his best book was in fact Angels and Demons. Could he possibly deliver another book to follow in the success of the previous instalment of the Langdon saga? Rather than following the formula for the other two books directly Brown has taken a slightly different approach to this book. The writing style and the short chapters are exactly the same as the previous 2 outings for Langdon, but the plot takes a slightly different twist. The previous two books were written as solely books, but this one has a real feeling that it's been written with the movie adaptation in mind. It doesn't take away anything for the plot but there are a few more twists than the previous books...

As clunky as a tap-dancing Frankenstein with new shoes..

...book one would be it would sell very well, some 80 million copies pre ordered world-wide so far, and the other is it would be written as a film script and even more in caricature than the previous Langdon books, insuring the movie rites early. The first line in the book is: 'Since the beginning of time...'. Browns prose is still reassuringly as clunky as Frankenstein's tap dancing. So huge were the DaVinci Code sales that publishers Bantam Press could make or break book shops by the speed they get 'The Lost Symbol' out. The fever pitch excitement meant a resulting price war which meant you could pick up the hard back for half-price at pretty much any good big book sellers, as did I, meaning someone is likely to go bust if they didn't hit their sales targets. Sadly the four year wait has not really been worth the anticipation and this is...
