Samsung 570s - an excellent LCD TFT monitor
Review of Samsung SyncMaster 570 S by
AmK
Advantages: Compact, crystal clear, low radiation
Disadvantages: None
...The Samsung SyncMaster 570S is a fantastic 15" flat panel LCD TFT monitor. I purchased it as an upgrade from my 17" CRT.
My work and study involves me spending some hours each day sat in front of a computer. I was becoming increasingly concerned about the amount of radiation I must be exposed to using a CRT for extended periods. A CRT also generates a lot of unwanted heat and a good sized one such as my 17", takes up rather a lot of desk space too.
When the opportunity arose to acquire this Samsung TFT monitor at a very competitive price, I jumped at it!
The quality of this product is excellent and I am very impressed with it after some weeks of use. It is compact, taking up a fraction of the space of a CRT since it is only an inch thick. It is a low radiation, environmentally friendly device (TCO 99 certified) and also doesn...

Samsung have done it again!
Review of Samsung SyncMaster 930BF by
tomo1k
Advantages: Extremely fast response, very bright and a good resolution for a clow price
Disadvantages: Imperfect colour rendition - smaller colour gamut than CRT monitors
...(Please note, this reviews the SyncMaster 930B, not the BF version. The two monitors use different stands but are otherwise identical)
Samsung have quite rightly gained a good reputation for manufacturing excellent monitors in the CRT world, and their LCD units have been just as good.
The SyncMaster 930B is no exception - stunningly fast response and extremely bright - so much so that I have never run it anywhere near full brightness!
The resolution is what you'd expect from a 19" screen, although some people would prefer higher resolutions at this diagonal.
It scales down fairly well, although at some lower resolutions an amount of blockyness appears as the internal anti-aliasing fails to cope very well.
The only place this monitor falls down slightly is colour rendition:
Compared to an equivalent CRT monitor, it has...

It Broke....
Review of Samsung SyncMaster 800 TFT by
ReviewDude
Advantages: TFT
Disadvantages: Too Bright, Too Small, Too Expensive, Too White
...I had little success with this Samsung TFT monitor. I own a range of Samsung products so had no doubt when buying this.
I purchased it online and it arrived a few days later. I opened the box to find it was white, the first surprise. The website I purchase it from showed it as being silver and not white so I wasn't very happy.
The white shell marks easy and doesn't fit in as well as silver. The next problem was with the stand. Because the monitor isn't CRT there's no weight pushing down on the stand. The monitor can be knocked over easy or even blown over if there was a strong wind.
The SyncMaster 800 brags about it's extra brightness but Samsung have nothing to brag about when it comes to this feature. When I first turned it on I thought It had gone into light speed.
The brightness is far too high and I had to turn it down after...

Expected CRT quality
Review of Samsung SyncMaster 753 S by
adehh
Advantages: Cheap, easy to use, good quality
Disadvantages: It's a CRT!
.... The monitor actually came with a floppy disk containing the drivers but I've not had a floppy drive on my computer for a few years now. I don't believe the monitor includes Macintosh drivers however.
I kept the quick installation guide for the monitor but I haven't kept much else, the guide seems of a good standard and offers driver installation instructions and diagrams for both Macintosh and PC installation. The guide is presented in around 14 different languages.
After reading the guide I can vaguely remember when I installed the monitor, the stand wasn't pre-attached to the monitor and had to be done manually although I cannot recall any problems achieving this.
I'm guessing not many are interested in this review but for those who are and on the lookout for a new CRT monitor, if you can find this or perhaps another in the SyncMaster...

An excellent screen, well worth the money
Review of Samsung SyncMaster 191 T by
SKingston
Advantages: Crisp, clear display
Disadvantages: Price, no USB hub
...As a professional software engineer, I have spent a lot of time sitting in front of various computers and have learnt the importance of a good screen; when you spend 10 hours a day looking at it, it’s got to be right!
In my last job, I primarily used a 19” Iiyama Vision Master Pro 450. While this is very good as CRT monitors go, my eyes did gradually start to feel strained from using it and I became susceptible to headaches and so I decided to splash out on a decent LCD. After testing a couple of different options, I settled on the Samsung SyncMaster 191T, with its small footprint and elegant design. The actual display is bright, crisp and sharp, with a 0.29mm dot pitch and 500:1 contrast ratio. The case feels well constructed and yet adds very little to the size of the actual LCD panel. The on-screen menu is clear with plenty...

Excellent value for money
Review of Samsung SyncMaster 940MW by
TClifton
Advantages: Great picture quality and clarity
Disadvantages: The base isn't maneouvrable
...I have been nothing but impressed with this monitor ever since about it about 5 months ago. The monitor comes with a load of features including hd ready, tv capabilities (including being able to watch it while working on pc), and very good connectivity. The screen is extremely clear and brilliant for use with DVD's as well as any HD input, such as from an xbox 360 which as far superior graphics to my old CRT monitor.
There is also no problem with not being able to connect all of your devices to the monitor - there are several different inputs including VGA, SCART, RGB, and HDMI. I still have spare \ports free.
The monitor itself comes with good features like picture-in-picture (watching tv in a smaller screen whilst using pc), virtual dolby surround sound, which is surprisingly good considering the size of the speakers...

Ideal step-up from a CRT
Review of Samsung SyncMaster 710 MP by
TW13UK
Advantages: Good responce time, Crisp picture, Multifuntional
Disadvantages: Not height adjustable "static position"
...I bought mine in a sale in PC World for £229. While in the store I compared all the other TFT and LCD monitor against this one and found it to be the best in comparison. Viewable angles were better than most, colour and image quality stood out from the rest of what was available. It was compared against the whole display of about 12 other makes and models.
The Samsung SyncMaster 710 MP is an excellent all round monitor. It offers a sharp crisp picture, good responce time 8ms and it has built in stereo sound speakers as it also doubles as a LCD television.
The LCD monitor comes witha remote control, has the option of hanging it on the wall should you want to use it as a TV rather than a monitor. The monitor has 1 scart socket as well as a TV aerial input, and 1 s-video input.
The funtion buttons are along the bottom of the monnitor...

Oh What a Wonderful LCD Monitor
Review of Samsung SyncMaster 940BF by
Aphasia
Advantages: Space Saving, Fast Response Time, VGA and DVI connections
Disadvantages: strange base/stand, bug in screen
...It took me a long time to decide on purchasing the Samsung 940BF. I read somewhere that with intensive design and engineering software LCD screens were not up to the task.
I was in a dilemma... my 17" CRT was a little on the large side taking up most of the space on my desk and the quality was exceptional (Mitsubishi Diamond Pro). I wanted more space without compromising on quality or response time.
I made my choice, and I am completely happy with this decision. One of the very few decisions I am happy with!
The Samsung 940BF doesn't have any speakers, USB ports or fancy gizmo's attached and that is exactly what i wanted. The design is clean, smooth and doesn't detract from what's actually on the screen.
By converting from CRT to LCD i have gained so much space and the change in quality between the two... well... I don't even notice...

Da SyncMaster 753 DFleX YO!
Review of Samsung SyncMaster 753 DFX by
oblivious0r
Advantages: Great Picture Quality and Great Value
Disadvantages: Heavy, Large Backend, 1280 Max Res
...'s Samsung TFT monitor I feel the picture is more crystal clear while his monitor is more colourful and detailed in some respects. I have my computer near the window and in the past the sun has tended to have a glare effect on my old monitor which really annoyed me when I was doing school work. This monitor has anti glare which means any sunlight won't reflect on it which is very nice as I can have the monitor facing the sun.
When you first plug the monitor in there is no need in installing anything though there are CD's given to you which are drivers and some tool that increases quality of the colours but I don't use them because I lost the CD's. Your computer will instantly recognise the monitor as the SyncMaster 753. The size of the monitor is 17" (16" viewable) which means that the picture will be large and when I first got my monitor I...
