...I was offered a used model by a friend. It certainly looks the business & is very smart, when sat on the desktop. If you have a nice machine and it's good, you like to tell everyone else it's good too. Don't you? Well I love this monitor, if you want all the techy stuff look at the spec sheet! I'm just going to tell you what it's like for the average punter to use. The Syncmaster 710 MP is easy to use, is excellent when connected to your PC, has integral speakers , which won't blow your brains out, but make adequate noise to tell you what's happening. I personally prefer to use it as a monitor for my PC. The Syncmaster gives good picture & sound, when connected to Sky via a SCART cable, but using a simple stand alone UHF indoor aerial , means picture & sound quality suffer a bit. ...I have recently bought this to replace a 17" CRT and have to say that overall I am very pleased with this monitor. What is it ??? The 711MP is a 17" LCD monitor with the added benefit of having a built-in TV tuner making it ideal for a bedroom or study where desk space may be tight but you want a monitor and TV. The price is £189.00 from PC World; it is always checking the price on their website. ...I recently bought a Samsung SyncMaster 150MP LCD monitor to replace my old 17" NEC one, which had started humming irritatingly. The 150MP is actually an LCD monitor and TV combined - this adds somewhat to the cost, at around £1000, but made a lot of sense for my small study / sitting room. The monitor looks very elegant, with a sleek silver front. It is quite thin (just over a centimeter thick). The remote control is also a cool silver. I guess it doesn't match the top of the range Sony N50 for coolness, but runs it a close second. Connecting the monitor is easy - there is a removable panel at the back which gives straightforward access to all the connecters, but which tidies up the back when replaced. ...I bought mine in a sale in PC World for £229. While in the store I compared all the other TFT and LCD monitor against this one and found it to be the best in comparison. Viewable angles were better than most, colour and image quality stood out from the rest of what was available. It was compared against the whole display of about 12 other makes and models. The Samsung SyncMaster 710 MP is an excellent all round monitor. It offers a sharp crisp picture, good responce time 8ms and it has built in stereo sound speakers as it also doubles as a LCD television. The LCD monitor comes witha remote control, has the option of hanging it on the wall should you want to use it as a TV rather than a monitor. Advantages: Clear and bright screen, completely flat

...I've been using this monitor for a couple of years now, I decided on Samsung as I bought a 15" Samsung Syncmaster monitor in 1995 and I still use it as a test monitor to this day, 10 years of use and still flawless, the reason I went for another Samsung. I've always been a fan of Samsung as I have never purchased a poor Samsung product. The Syncmaster 753DF is a 17" monitor of which around 16" is actually viewable. The actual screen is completely flat as opposed to the curved screens and I mean completely flat, you could put a spirit level across it and it would show you how flat the glass really is, I'm not sure what effect this is meant to have on the user but I prefer it to the standard curved screen. ...was perfect for me, but obviously colour is purely a personal choice thing. I do think that the colour and design make it quite futuristic looking. The SyncMaster 720n comes with VGA Input. This is a standard video format and really does provide excellent image quality. Its a pretty time-tested and reliable format. Response Time is 8ms which I must say is super. What this means is how long it takes (in milliseconds) an LCD screen to go from gray-to-gray. This is a very important point in viewing moving images (for example movies or games). Basically the lower the response time the better the viewing experience. Another great point going for this monitor is the MagicTune (yes I did have to ask what this was !!!!)
