...Windows 98 SE in my opinion is THE operating system to have if you are a home user, there are mand advanatages to having it installed. System crashes are now an inregular thing with this operating system. Using Windows Update, via the internet, free of charge you can ensure that the system is constantly up to date. The familiar micosoft feel is good, with the start button and desktop. windows explorer is good for browsing the contents of your hard disk drive, ms-dos is avaliable , good for formatting the system etc. There is plenty of software compatable with this O S on the UK market. steve... ...Reliaility and quality make P.B. a system to be reckoned with. I have a Packard Bell PC which I bought 18 months ago and have found the system to be reliable and trouble free. I have previously bought systems fro other lesser name retailers and always experienced serious problems with them. With Packard Bell I am pleased to say that I have had none of these problems at all. The system came pre-installed and running correctly but also has a restore disk to re-install the system to its factory defaults should you hit a problem.... Read review

Advantages: Great performance from a budget system

...I bought this system for just under £100 or £108 including postage. It was from an auction and was a catalogue return. I didn't get a mw antenna or instructions. The system is incredibly stylish and I would say its the most attractive system aiwa have done for a few years. Sound Quality is excellent especially prologic. The system is truly feature packed. Perhaps the weakest part of the system is its tape decks. One is auto reverse the other that records isn't. There is no form of noise reduction on them. They are quite basic really. At least though they are fully controlled by the remote control. Its not one of those crap systems where the tape decks are only controllable from the main unit itself. The CD mechanism is a 3 CD affair with full CDR/CDRW support. The display on the unit is fantastic with effects and multicolours... Read review

Advantages: Cheap, Adequate Memory
Disadvantages: Not enough frills for higher end systems

...I think this card's performence depends greatly on the system. It breathes new life in to an old Pentium system but is not quite good enough for higher end systems. I have a AMD K6-233 and the Voodoo replaced an M3D (Power VR) and has made the system live for a few more years. It runs games that even have spec's at 266 mhz (in a low res) but for £70 and avalible in pci it can bring an old pc back from the grave. Ok it will not compete with any of the latest Geforce cards but it can bring an old system back to life for les that £70. (Shop Around) The card also comes in 3000, and 4500 models which gice more features. Althogh these cards are better than the 2000 they cost too much for the extra improvements.... Read review

...this is a very nice product, easy to use, have been use it alot of time. product with a reasonable price, which is afordable for most ppl. it is a very safty system, I do not use extra firewall to protect my computer. the revert system is very helpful, when your system does not works well, you can easily sort it out by reverting your system to the back. home edition does not have so many features as the professional edition, but it is enough for personal use, and the price is much cheaper than the professional. SP2 is emphasis on the safty of system in my understanding, i kept upgrade every week, and I surf on net everday, but have never get spyware from internet. The only disadvantage is the there is no much features on this system, it is not beautiful as some other systems.... Read review

...This system is excellent for advanced computer users, who require high performance. I was amazed with the build quality of this machine. The one thing I found striking was the LCD display which is very crisp and ultra-bright. Perhaps one of the best I have seen. This however contributes to poor battery life. Under heavy tasks this system is lucky if it attains 1 hr of battery life which is shocking for users who take the system away from AC power but is expected form a machine of this spec. The system is quite heavy and is not very portable making this a desktop replacement system and I would not recommend it for users who require portability. The keyboard is excellent and can be used for prolonged periods comfortably. The most disapointing feature of this laptop is its stupid doors at the side of the system to gain access to its... ...I have been using Windows 98 since it was launched, since then I have upgraded with service pack 1. Compared to Windows 95, it is slightly more stable and seems a bit faster. It is a friendly operating system to use and the multimedia features are well implemented. It is still not the most stable of operating systems. I use NT at work which crashes far less than Windows 98. NT is not a home operating system however so if you are looking to use an operating system for games and multimedia then the best choice is Windows 98. Until something better comes along that is.... ...Bose 321 GS System/ I bought this system directly from the Bose shop, even though I decided that day; I was not going to buy anything. But somehow, I found it impossible to resist the sleek and slender design of the Bose 321 GS System. It was demonstrated to me in the shop by the very helpful staff, but they did not need to sell it to me. The system sold itself, based on everything from sound to looks. The one off-putting thing however, was the extremely steep price, but I tried to keep that out of my head, knowing that it was great value for money. The sound is utterly amazing, but was it really worth over a grand? Seems not really, as a few months later, I purchased a £50 Creative Labs system from Argos, to find out the sound quality from a system 20 times cheaper, was almost as good.
