Home Leisure Quick up pools.
Review of Home Leisure 10ft Simple Set Pool by  scottishkat

Advantages: Hours of fun for the whole family.
Disadvantages: Takes at least 9 hours to fill.

...better for all that we got one with a filter and that it would save us from all those little problem. We picked up our pool from Woolworths for £55.99.It was a 10ft pool put also come in other sizes from 12ft and 16ft. What was great about this one was it came with a cover also.(Which most 10ft pools didn't have the cover and would cost you about an extra £8)all pools are 2 shades of blue.So for those who want a bright cheerful one sorry this is no good for you....lol.... We got home and the kids faces light up. We swept the concrete area that we wanted it on. and layed an old think blanket under the pool because we felt it might be safer if it was a little softer with young children. but of course if you were to do this make sure you are alright to bin it after the summer as it well begin to riot and smell...Now if you are going... Flame-n-Glow... Flame-n-Gorgeous
Review of flame-n-glow.co.uk by  Fruity_Tart

Advantages: Great service, very competative prices, good quality products
Disadvantages: A rude ash catcher (see op for explanation!) lol

...A couple of months ago I became aware of a new site on the web. A new site called Flame-n-Glow. It's run by Kim Perry (Ciao's very own Kymbo) who set the business up after she was in a car accident last year. And she's done a brilliant job! Basically, Flame-n-Glow sells candles. But candles is just the start, Kim's stock also incudes oil burners, incense, wind chimes and loads more. Flame-n-Glow is a web site based company which started out as a small Ebay Shop. Kim now has her own site and also offers a mail order service for people (like me!) who can't or don't like to order on-line. I placed an order this week and am so impressed with everything that I had to write this op and let you all know about it. oOoOo HOME PAGE oOoOo Logging onto Flame-n-Glow has a calming effect. The home page is white, dotted with small... Read review

Easily The Best Pool Game On The Market
Review of Cool Pool (PC) by  callancool

Advantages: Great Graphics
Disadvantages: No tournament mode.

...'s not a simulation, and you can't play multi game matches like you can in virtually every other pool game. So why is it called Cool pool, and why haven't I heard of it? Well the reason it's 'Cool pool' is twofold, Firstly because as well as standard 8 ball pool, there's some really cool variations featuring exploding balls, colour changing balls, supersonic speeding balls, and cash jumping out of pockets (admittedly it's in Cents not pence but you get the idea). Secondly, it's a really cool came in it's own right. It's so absurdly easy to pick up and play it's unbelievable. And if it's such a fantastic game why hasn't anyone heard of it? Well the simple fact of the matter is that Sierra who published the game didn't market it properly. In the states it was released as part of Sierra's 'Family Fun' range which included 'Train Town' and 'RC Racing... Read review

THE ETERNAL FLAME RE ALIGHTS UPDATED
Review of Eternal Flame by  emu128

Advantages: Great new single
Disadvantages: Sounds simalar to the bangles but isn't as good

...your hands Give me your hand darlin' Do you feel my heart beating Do you understand Do you feel the same Or am I only dreaming Or is this burning an Eternal flame REPEAT X2 TO FADE On the point of cover versions of songs, this brings me to another strong point of my opinion, many people disagree with bands and singers covering songs and say that its the easy way out where groups don't need to bother to make up and practice lyrics. I've found this problem has been increasing over the last year or two and the fact that that new groups and singers sing these re-releases is that they usually sound exactly the same to the original! What is the point!? Lately we've had Westlife singing 'Billy Joel's' 'Up town Girl' and now we've got 'Wheatus' the band that bought us 'Teenage Dirtbag' singing 'A Little Respect' which... Fat man, you shoot a great game of pool.
Review of The Hustler (Wide Screen) (Special Edition) by  DarkMark

Advantages: effortlessly cool, a masterful drama
Disadvantages: makes all of the world's taboos so tempting

..., screenwriter’s Robert Rossen and Sydney Carroll create a slick, second to none script that (unlike some other sport related films) doesn’t dwell too much on the game of Pool. Instead as the pass time as the film’s focal point being supported by the intertwining drama instead of it being the other way round. Sure, we get to see some fantastic pots but instead of just being a film about the game/sport of Pool with flimsy, two dimension characters and a barrel-scraping plot, “The Hustler” offers a more in-depth character study going from personal high to low, to high again. ‘Fast’ Eddie Felson is the best, he knows it and so does everyone else. However, his biggest conflict is himself, his lack of knowing when he has won or indeed has been beaten. His gambling problems are multiplied with other taboos such as drinking, smoking and womanising. Only... Read review

The BIGGEST FATTEST pool ever
Review of Pools by  Martin.rowley

Advantages: Its so relaxing and keeps everyone happy
Disadvantages: No foot pump, takes ages to fill

...It was just far too hot one day last summer as the family and I wandered about the hot and dusty streets of Grantham. Desperate to get home and remove all clothing, but remaining decent i was quickly losing my temper as the crowds of people slowly blocked every way for me to move down the street....it was hell.... But then... I was somehow forced through the massive automatic door of Woolworths and swept along with a flock of teenage girls toward the toy department. Oh well, while I was here I supposed it was a good idea to have a quick look at the toys, after all , I did have both kids with me and wouldn't get a moments peace otherwise....and there it was....standing out from the shelf right in front of me.......I could see it now.... A HUGE GREAT BIG PADDLING POOL This was so obviousley the answer and definatley worth... Read review

Poole's Cavern, Buxton, Derbyshire
Review of Pooles Cavern, Buxton by  micksheff

Advantages: Lots of history, Educational
Disadvantages: Damp and dark, Expensive

...Poole's Cavern is situated just under a mile outside of the Derbyshire town of Buxton, on the fringe of the Peak District National Park. During a recent visit to the town I actually stumbled upon this place quite by accident, and since the weather was abysmal for trudging around I decided to pay this place a visit. It is well sign-posted from the town centre so we decided to follow the brown tourist signs that led us out of the town centre, past the School and through a rather desirable residential District of this picturesque town. I would describe Poole's Cavern as one of those little Gems of a place I occasionally find when I wander off the beaten track. The only difference here is that this place is no hidden secret, yet despite my many visits to Buxton this is the first time that I was aware that the place existed... Read review

ELC Baby Activity Pool
Review of ELC Baby Activity Pool by  traciem

Advantages: WOW-Best pressie under a tenner I've bought for a while!
Disadvantages: Possibly those sharp gnashers!!!!!!!!

...What a find. What to get for my one-year old twins' birthday was becoming a big problem as I have two boys 3 and 6 it seems we already have every toy ever dreamed up by man (or woman) and as I didn't want to buy just for the sake of it I was fast running out of ideas until I visited my local ELC (or Early Learning Centre to those pre-kidders) For once it seemed I was in luck for there on display in the middle of the shop were these pretty looking paddling pools. Marketed as the ELC Baby Activity Pool and suitable for 9 months + I thought this was ideal for the long hot summer we are sure to have (he he!!) Actually to be totally honest the real draw was a free foot pump (worth £5 with ever pool purchased - I have very painfull memories of many hours trying to blow inflatables up in the past) So well done ELC - you're giveaway... The shallow end of the pool...
Review of American Pool (PSX) by  tom1clare

Advantages: Cheap and very good value, playable and fun
Disadvantages: 9-ball rules, average graphics and sound

...It's never a nice feeling to wander into your local game shop and discover that you have played or owned almost all of it's stocked titles. Somewhat alarmingly, this is now happening to me on a regular basis, as I come across the same old PlayStation games sitting on the shelves collecting dust. So in more recent times, I have been forced towards the often suspicious 'Budget' section of ASDA; once a breeding ground for pap kiddie 'edutainment', but lately a home to some hidden gems at very respectable prices... ...And that's my excuse for buying American Pool, current holder of the 'least ambitiously named game ever' award. At a mesely £4.97 brand new, it's understandable that a sim based on the third most popular pub sport (behind darts and drinking) won't push the PSOne to new technological highs, but to be fair, American Pool... Poole a Wonderfull place
Review of Poole by  OldFart

Advantages: Shops on one side solitude on the other. And twin high tides
Disadvantages: Harbour entrance can get busy in the Summer

..., bearded, blokes dressed in safari outfits. [and no matter where you land or how deserted it looks they WILL find you within abot 30 seconds of your feet touching dry land ! Perhaps the most unusual thing about Poole Harbour and the point of great intrest and use to the Yachtsman are its unique tides. Every tide has two lows and two highs per cycle instead of the usual one high and one low. This feature is caused by the proximity of The Isle of White and a tricky bit of hydrodynamics which need an expert to explain. However what it means in practice is that Poole Harbour empties out in three hours, refills in the next three hours and then by and large hangs about with one long high water for the next six hours. Very handy for the sailor!!... Read review
