Samsung NC10 Netbook

Advantages: Lots of connectivity - Big keyboard - excellent screen - Good spec
Disadvantages: bad sleeve to store netbook - battery life not that long - small touchpad

...I managed to pick up this netbook for £299 which is oustanding value - from play.com. The netbook is very light and can fit almost anywhere - it is very easy to carry around - you can set up anywhere and very easily connect to the internet where available. The netbook looks very stylish and everything is laid out well. The keyboard is the biggest i have ever seen on a netbook - its almost full size which is a bonus as I have a lot of typing to do. One disadvantage of this is that the mousepad has been made very small which is a nuisance - you do get used to it but it is not ideal. The specs for this netbook are impressive I mean a massive 160GB hard drive, a 10.2 inch screen. 1 GB of RAM and a 1.6GHZ intel atom processor. ...I recieved this netbook for christmas and all i can say is 'wow'! My background with computers is vast having built many and installed multiple operating systems on each, however i have never owned a laptop. Therefore i was a little dubious about some of the things such as keyboard size, processing power and battery life. I was looking for a laptop which is very small in physical size while packing a punch so it could still carry out multiple tasks. Buying a full size (15.4") laptop seemed a bit pointlesss as i have two tower pc's which are my main machines, so this was just to be about casual surfing/ reading emails/ browsing while on the move. Samsung YP-T10 8GB

Advantages: sleek but simple - a great alternative to ipods, with the added bonus of bluetooth

...When I first bought this product it was very new to the market, and I had numerous problems installing the Samsung software on my computer. Eventually it installed, but I found the Samsung music organiser not as convenient or easy to use as Windows Media Player, so I still use that to syncronise my music to the player. Since buying it, I am regularly shown new downloads to update the player, which I have found easy to install. On the whole I have actually noticed that these updates have made a visible improvement to the features of the player. The screen is clear and menus are easy to use to find what file you're looking for, whether you're browsing by artist, genre or playlist, etc. However, if you have a long list of things, for example a list of album titles, you can't scroll through the list quickly to find one a long way down...

...I bought my NC10 to replace my laptop which was just too heavy to be carrying to and from work everyday. I purchased my NC10 on a promotion weekend from a high street store beating online prices significantly. I was trying to avoid big bulky items to carry as I was on crutches at the time. Not recommended but straight out of box into my rucksack in the shop from which it was purchased. Didn't notice much weight difference in my bag at all. The Samsung NC10 has served me dilligently now being used more and more instead of my normal laptop as battery life is excellent. I use the NC10 round the house for coursework, work and even during my work lunch. The screen is bright and very easy to read, I primarily use the NC10 at home for surfing the net to shop and for music in the background. I have an extensive playlist on Spotify...

...and again, this doesn't seem to be a problem this year. The sound quality still isn't very good though. All of your stats are still saved within your 'Player HUB' and online leaderboards are there as always. The leaderboards at the moment appear to rank the top 10,000 in the world and top 10,000 in each country. At the moment I'm ranked around 7000 in GB, but don't have a ranking spot in the world rankings. 10v10 Team Play is still here. You can now play friends more easily. Previously when I wanted to play with just my friends I had to create a room then start as quick as possible without anyone else joining (there may have been an easier way), but now you can invite your friends to a private game. Nothing could really have been improved here unless they included the goalkeeper or substitutes, so when you're fed up with your real friends...

...and also some mini speakers and the sound quality is very good on both. You can set up playlists and group your songs so you can keep track of your mp3 collection. With a 4gb memory it has a lot of room for many songs. The video playback on this player is also excellent and plays mp4 and wmv files. I would recommend this player to anyone as I am very happy with this purchase. The only problem you may encounter is it is harder to find add ons for the player as it isn't quite as well known as others....

...Our large, four bedroom house is over 200 years old and therefore has no cavity walls to insulate. After a cold and damp 2008 summer we were suffering from condensation and mould problems in spite of extractor fans in both kitchen and bathroom. Time to dehumidify! We bought our DEM 10 at Curry's for £99.99. It is compact, easily moved with a fold-out top carry handle and absolutely idiot proof in use. The level of humidity that the unit will pull down to can be controlled via a knob on top of the housing and there is a full tank warning light. The water tank is transparent so that the water level can be seen at a glance and the tank is so easy to remove for emptying - and, more importantly, to replace. Try some of the competition! A length of polythene hose is supplied to enable continuous draining should you want to leave the unit...

...The T10s is probably the best 'free' phone available, until the T28 comes onto this market at an equal price. It is a rugged phone - my neighbour dropped his into a pint of lager and it was fine after a day on the radiator - which will survive most accidents.
