...with these shops is you get carried away before you know it you are looking at a Home Theatre System that’s costing way above your price range. So I set myself a budget and asked the sales assistant for advise on the best equipment I could get for my money. I was shown a Denon Home Theatre set-up, the DVD-2800 being part of it. The full set-up was the DVD player a Denon AVR-2802 Amp and a set of five Definitive Technology speakers which they set it up I their demonstration room so I could see and hear them in action. The DVD-2800 player It had just been released and looked very smart in the champagne gold finish. The main difference from the older model was the Pro-Logic 2 feature which enables the speakers behind you to produce stereo sound effects. Pro-Logic 1 could only produce mono sound effects. Advantages: 6x optical zoom, many manual features

...I bought my FinePix 2800 a little over a year ago, and have taken 1000's of pictures with it. The main reasons for me choosing this camera over other similar models were: Good price 6x Optical zoom "Mini SLR" style shape (easy to hold) numerous features including white balance control, self timer, macro mode, movie mode with sound... This camera has 2 LCD displays, one larger one on the back for reviewing pictures (and for taking too) and another in place of the optical viewfinder. Having a LCD display instead of the optical viewfinder is good because it shows a true representation of the picture you are framing (i.e. no parallax errors like with traditional optical viewfinders), but it can get difficult to see when there is a strong light behind you. ...I have been involved in photography for quite some time, always using film as my medium of choice, and I was very happy to receive a Fuji Finepix 2800 zoom from my wife as a present for my birthday.This was my first foray into digital imaging, and I was looking forward to "instant" quality photo's. The camera itself is very small, and Fuji have designed it to look like a small SLR camera, also containing a small built-in flash.The flash itself has enough modes for most uses, but is, in all honestly, a little feeble.In poor light it employs infra-red focusing, the same as the camera itself. The 2800 focuses well enough in good light, but is very slow in poor lighting conditions, and sometimes can't find focus at all.The main selling point of this camera is the zoom range of the lens as it has a 6 times optical and 2.5 digital zoom... ...If you splash out on a quality TV then you need a quality DVD player. Having recently purchased a large LCD TV I knew that I could no longer rely on that cheap bit of technological tat that I bought from Tesco last year. If nothing else it just looked embarrassing under my 37 inch LCD screen. Looks and Set-Up The Denon 2800 MKII is an impressive unit that seems solidly constructed and comes in either a black or gold champagne casing that features a 15mm-thick aluminium extruded front panel. There is none of the cheap looking plastic casing that you get with a lot of the cheaper DVD players on the market nowadays. Instead what you have is a quality looking high grade piece of technology. ...When I was looking to get my first Digital camera I looked at various different models to try and get all the features I wanted which were primarily, a large zoom and an SLR like performance, having been using SLR's for all my adult life I was sceptical about the picture quality and perfomance capabilites of Digtial cameras within my price range (under £300) so after much searching I came across the Fuji Fine Pix 2800 Zoom, it certainly looked the part but could it walk the walk, well I have to say I was blown away by the level of features, picture quality, and the zoom level was brilliant, especially coming from such a compact package, I still can't get over the power of the zoom that still fits in my pocket (well they are quite big pockets, but not huge) the combination of an electonic viewfinder and LCD screen makes taking pictures... ...Imagine the scene, Heathrow airport, about to jet off to South Africa on Safari, and whats the one thing we forgot to pack … a camera. Oh well, time to have a look around Dixons as we’ve checked in and are just waiting for the gates to open in about 3 hours time! After about an hour of mulling it over, probably to the amusement of the staff I settled on the Finepix 2800 and never looked back. The camera itself is very old school in its look, just miniaturised for the modern generation. Due to a slight bulge on the front of the camera it is very easy to hold one handed, although if you are doing this I would recommend wrapping the included carry strap around your wrist just in case. Its silver design is very pleasing and aesthetically I don’t think many improvements could have been made. The supplied documentation is very clear... Read review
