...I have previously owned two Xbox 360 Premium consoles in the past. I decided to purchase again with the release of Halo 3. Overall I\'m very happy with the Elite. Its main advantage over the Premium is the larger 120GB hard drive. Compared to buying a console and the larger hard drive it represents good value for money. If you want to download lots of demos and not have to worry about lack of space then the bigger drive is definitely worth it. If you just want HDMI then that should now be available on the Premium console. Another thing that I have found with the past two consoles that I have owned run rather loud. The Elite seems to be slightly less noisy but this still depends on what DVD drive you get in your system. Unfortunately it is down to luck which one you\'ll get. ...Power is the first thing that comes to mind when i think of the xbox 360 elite, it has a huge 120GB hard disk drive and the graphics seem to run alot smoother that the original xbox 360 for some reason. I had the original xbox 360 but that died on me about 2 weeks after buying, microsoft seem to have sorted out these little issues that kept crashing the system. The elite has a HDMI port which means you can connect this straght into your HD socket on your tv, I have a 42 inch plasma and i thought the graphics was good on my old Xbox 360 through a scart lead but once i plugged this in i was blown away! The graphics are amazing, perfect detail can be seen on the games that you play. You get the HDMI cable with this system too which is just great as they are quite exspensive to buy, you also get one black wirless controller and a headset...

...Ok, here's a quick run down of my thoughts on the 360, probably throw in a few comparisons with the PS3, won't bother too much with the Wii since it's not really what I would class as a serious games machine, good fun in short spells or with "non-gamers" but that's about it. Had the 360 for a couple of years now, I was seduced by Halo 3 having been addicted to the first 2 games on the original, I'm a little bit of a FPS nut so I'm well covered with the 360 as that seems to be the systems main genre as it was with the original. It's probably been the most fun system I've owned since the dreamcast (class machine, sorely missed) or the mega drive (Genisis for anyone on the wrong side of the Atlantic). ...Nintendo and the 1st Playstation, I have been an Xbox fan all my life :). I have always found the games to be much better and play better and ofcourse, have way better controllers. The menu's and interface of the 360 are very good, customisable, colourfull and simple to use, you couldn't ask for more! (They even make very satisfying sounds as you flick the different slides!). If you have a favourite game or movie you can get themes to customise your xbox with, or even if you have your own pictures you can set them as a background. The games on the 360 are the greatest thing about it (obviously). The sheer number of great games out there now is good enough reason to buy it, but not only that. I imagine that buying one more 256MB memory card would be sufficient enough if you're not planning on downloading demos. You also get a wireless controller and one month's subscription to X-Box Live. You don't get a HDMI cable though so you won't be gaming in high definition just yet although there will always be the choice to upgrade.
