The Fujitsu Siemens Amilo L7300

Advantages: Decent laptop at a decent price
Disadvantages: Not good for games

...I currently own this laptop and it is great for internet, im, e-mail and some basic programs, however this laptop does have a flaw which is the fact that it dosent really have the power to play games that well. This laptop comes with Windows XP home basic operating system. Another big point to make about this laptop is the RAM as it says it comes with 256mb, which yes it does however 64mb of this is used up for the video card which is pre installed so you don't really get a choice. This laptop has a 20gb hard drive which isn't very good by todays standards, so if you do buy this then get an external hard drive. The processor speed isn't to bad at 1.5 GHz, which is surprising considering the other attributes. HP Compaq nx7300 - Good for business

Advantages: Great overall build quality, great screen, it's fast enough for you old man
Disadvantages: Not much memory, dull looks aren't going to wow the ladies (never stopped me!)

...I've recently been able to test this laptop as my stepdad has received one through his work. It's the first time I have seen an HP/Compaq laptop, but I've used many other brands so I'll be mainly using them as a comparison. At first glance, the laptop has a very ordinary design, but when you pick it up you quickly appreciate the build quality. It is quite light, and yet very sturdy, and feels like it could happily take a few knocks ( lucky as my stepdad has a short temper!! ). I also really like the keyboard, it feels great to type on and there is no "give" like my own current laptop ( an Acer Ferrari ). The touchpad feels ok but I've never been a big fan of these, so I think I'd stick to my trusty mouse. One thing I was really impressed with is the screen. Advantages: cheaper to buy 4 but can also buy singly
Disadvantages: you have to look around for the cheapest as prices do vary

To use you just pull off the yellow strip and just drop it into your printer. It really is as simple as that. Instructions do say to shake the ink cartridge 4 or 5 times before putting it in but I have forgotten to do that and panic stations, but it made absolutely no difference that I could see but perhaps I was just lucky. These cartridges cannot be refilled and I have not yet seen any recycling place that it happy to receive them - probably just because they cannot be refilled. How long do they last? ...The Garmin Nuvi 610T is a very good sat nav unit. In the box you receive the unit itself, windscreen mount, charger leads, cd rom, usb pc connecting cable, instruction manual, a dashboard mount and a tmc aerial. On receiving the unit it was incredibly easy to set up. In fact straight from the box its ready to go once you've attached it to the windscreen, it simply takes a few moments to locate satellites and establish where it is. The windscreen mounting bracket is of good quality, the plastic is robust and in 6 months the suction cup hasn't worked loose at all; its still exactly where I placed it initially.
