An excellent PDA/Mobile Phone
Review of XDA Mini S, PDA/Mobile Phone by
redballoon
Advantages: Everything about the phones features
Disadvantages: Costly if you dont have a contract. Only avaliable from o2
...wanted an organiser that looking back now was rubbish! They only had two lines of input as a screen, a basic calendar and a notepad of some description and an address book! How things have moved on.
I read about their new pda's and found out that they had combined a very high powered PDA with a mobile phone and more features on top! They have several out, all very similar but this one stood out for me. I went to the o2 shop in town near me and asked to see the range in the flesh so I can actually see what they are like. She brought all three out and one (the executive one) was massive! It was too big. Then this one was given to me. The mini. The baby of the range. He was small, rounded and compact. It was like love at first sight! Ii asked the shop assistant how much the handset was and she replied 275.00! I was shocked! But that price...

AS A NEW MOBILE PHONE USER
Review of Mobile Phone companies - Mobile Phones by
ByronTheWicked
Advantages: excellent customer care, good rates, excellent reception, very easy to use eption
Disadvantages: none
...I must have been the only person in the UK without a mobile phone, but I finally surrendered to the new technology. With some help (see related review)I decided to buy a Nokia 3310, with Orange Just Talk.
As I never had a mobile phone before I was a bit nervous on how to go about registration and use. But the manual supplied was very clear and the steps quick to follow.
I called the help line to register my phone and the assistant was very helpful and patient too, considering it took me five minutes to decide on a password and she did not put pressure on me at all.On the contrary, she invited me to take my time. The registration reply message arrived very quickly too.
The next step was to decide on a method of payment for my credits. Orange offers three: vouchers, top up card and credit/debit card. I decided to use mainly the top...

Mobile Phones
Review of mobile phones - mobile phones by
SweetSecret
Advantages: Good for emergencies
Disadvantages: Depends on Network
...This opinion is so me, after all ive Three Mobile phones so im a prime person to discuss Three Different Networks, and Three Different Nokia Models.
Lets Begin with the NETWORKS:
ONE 2 ONE..
Not a bad network provider, pretty good on reception but can cause problems in the south west. Customer service's helpful friendly staff, price of calls, Peak from 5p a minute, Off peak from 2p a minute.
Tendency of free calls, allows up to 300minutes a month, un-used minutes can be carried over.
Average line rental = £15 a month
VODAFONE..
Very Good Network provider, no problems with reception in most area's, easy to use abroad, call charges not to bad, around 5p a minute Peak time and also 2p a minute off peak.
Customer service, only ever rang them once, polite and helpful, also offer a free minute a month scheme, symetrical...

Is Your Mobile Phone Harming Your Health
Review of Mobile Phones in Society/General by
wampyrii
Advantages: see review
Disadvantages: see review
...A few years ago, mobile phones were something of a rarity, mainly owned by businessmen and yuppies, but in a relatively short space of time and largely thanks to the introduction of pre-paid schemes it now seems that anyone - regardless of age - who doesn't have a mobile is in the minority. To some, they are essential, to others a mere fashion accessory, but to most of us they are just damn useful to have around, however, along with their increased usage has come concerns over their safety and calls for investigation...
The Cause For Concern?
Mobile phones are low power devices which link to base stations through the emmision of radio waves. Radio waves have of course been used as an effective means of communication for over 100 years now, yet it is the sheer number of mbile devices now which are leading to concern being expressed...

MOBILE PHONES AND HEALTH
Review of MOBILE PHONES AND HEALTH - MOBILE PHONES AND HEALTH by
SCOTT3010
Advantages: IN POINT IN WORLD YOU CAN MAKE A CALL
Disadvantages: THE LONG TERM EFFECTS OF RADIATION
...Mobiles and health? What is the truth? Well being a telecomms expert i should and do know. Basically anything electrical ... gives off radiation. For example, your mobile phone. When you make a call it uses power to transmit a signal. While it is transmiting this signal it gives off energy that creates a magnetic field and this magnetic field is where we the humans make contact with radiation. The radiation is under legal regulations ...... but nobody and i mean noboady has studied the long term affects of exposure to this amount. The arguement is tricky because if you have eg a television and computer in your house, then these are also giving off around the same amount of radiation. So what do you do? Well you may call me a bit over the top but when i go to bed i switch the television off at the wall not just on standby as it will keep...

www.mobile-phone-insurance.net
Review of mobile-phone-insurance.net by
PHILDARV
Advantages: Covers your mobile phone against loss, theft and water damage
Disadvantages: There is an excess to pay - but all policies have this
...Mobile phone insurance appears to be big business:- more and more names are popping up out of no-where.
I wanted to insure my phone because I am the sort of person who leaves it on a train or drops it down the toilet!
I looked at the the big names like Orange, O2 and Vodaphone who all have their own insurance when you purchase a phone and also looked at the multitude of other lesser known companies.
I am with Orange so looked at them first - they don't cover my main areas of concern - loss and water damage - neither do any of the big names. So I went to the "mobile phone insurance specialists" .
Mobile-phone-insurance.net cover your mobile phone for:- loss, theft, water damage, accidental damage, fraudulent calls, extended warranty and international cover. This looks like a cracking policy. There must be some exclusions...

The place on the web to buy mobile phones and accessories
Review of miahtelecom.co.uk - mobile phone website by
purpledragon
Advantages: Tariff calculator
Disadvantages: Can't think of any
...I went to this website by accident really but I was glad I did. It's the best mobile phone website I have been to, with the cheapest phone accessories that are high quality as well.
I was looking for phone covers for the nokia 3210 and they have a wide range on here as well.
The website sells phones on One 2 One, Vodafone, Orange and BT Cellnet. They will give advice on which phone to buy as well as which network. They sell all the latest mobile phones and even the nokia 7110 (WAP)is the cheapest I have found on the web, with loads of free accessories.
They have a tariff calculator on the website that can help you decide which is the best tarrif for you.
I think this website would be good for anyone who is looking for a first time mobile phone or looking to upgrade their existing phone.
Well worth a visit for some good offers!!...

Super samsung s400i mobile phone
Review of Samsung S400i, mobile phone by
sharonlvzjay
Advantages: the design, camera, battery life
Disadvantages: cant play mp3 music files
...i have gave the phone a good rating because i think it is a really good phone overall when you compare it to other phones.
The overall look is sleek and modern and even when it is dropped a million times it still works without breaking.
It has loud speaker so whenever your 2 busy to hold the phone e.g ironing you can put the phone down and still have a conversation.
I bought this phone a few years ago and recently decided to get a samsing f210 but the camera wasnt good and also ther was no loud speaker that i needed so it made me realise how good this samsung s400i was, so i decided to use this phone permently and sell my other mobile phone.
The only downfall with this phone is the music and ringtones, i have found this phone to be so annoying and embarassing when it ring with the shady ringtones as it does not allow you...

TalkCover Mobile Phone Insurance
Review of TalkCover Mobile Phone Insurance by
porsche917
Advantages: Comprehensive cover, very low cost, good service
Disadvantages: None so far.
...Having quickly discounted the insurance offered by my network provider as over priced, I did what I do with all my insurance policies and looked online.
There are many small websites offering mobile phone insurance, but lots look like you wouldn't trust them with anything, let alone insurance.
Out of my final shortlist of Talkcover, CUSC (as they had been around for many years, but still have a poor website and the poor Ciao review put me off), and CPP PhoneSafe (as I have heard of them in the financial press, they are large and growing but expensive), Talkcover appeared to offer the best balance of complete cover (loss, theft, accidental damage, fraudulent calls, brand new replacement phones) with the best price by far.
Talkcover gave me 12 months for the price of 9, and they insured all 3 phones (my mega expensive Nokia 8600...
