Be Creative on the MuVo...
Review of Creative MuVo V200 1 GB by
eldred5400
Advantages: Small, lightweight and music transfer from PC is quick
Disadvantages: battery drain when not in use
...ignore his suggestion, so I gave the Creative MuVo a try.
The sound quality was good, and I was looking at the 1GB version so the capacity for holding music was good enough for my requirements (easily holding about 20 CD albums worth of music). What really impressed me about the Creative was that they had produced an MP3 player that had a sound quality that was as good (if not better) than the equivalent iPod, was smaller than the iPod version of the time, and was also cheaper than the iPod by about £20 (quite a difference when I was looking to spend around £100 on this piece of technology).
Transferring music from your PC to the MuVo is simple. Instead of having to faff around with yet more cables, the MuVo splits into two pieces, one that contains the AAA battery that powers it, and one that has a USB connector which you can plug...

The MuVo squared, a superb mp3 player.
Review of Creative Nomad MuVo2 1.5GB 1.5 GB by
daverave
Advantages: Price, Looks, Simple to use, Good functionality.
Disadvantages: Small LCD
...Creative - a well established name in the PC Audio market, which has managed to bring us high quality products for years. And with that said, the MuVo squared is no exception. The MuVo is one of a rapidly increasing number of mp3 players that are using reduced size hard drive technology (equal or smaller in physical size as those used in laptops), as opposed to removable or flash memory. This offers one distinct advantage: storage capacity.
The MuVo offers a storage capacity of 1.5Gb. Creative quotes 850 as the number of songs that you can hold on this device, but it's a maximum, since this assumes that you're using 64kbs WMA files with an average length of 3.5 mins, which let's face it, probably isn't the case. Still, you're still going to be able to store several hundred tracks, which is plenty for my liking. Sure, I could spend...

MuVo 256MB NX - a great little MP3 Player!
Review of Creative Nomad MuVo NX 256 MB by
TonyOg
Advantages: Very good sound quality, easy to use, great battery life
Disadvantages: battery case easy broken, dodgy wrist strap :-o
...I had been looking for an MP3 player for ages for one purpose and one purpose only - going to the Gym! I hate working out on the treadmill listening to my little Roberts radio, or to the Gym's own stations because you never know what kind of horrible, rhythmless music they're gonna play next! I like to choose my own tracks!
So, after looking round the different stores (Argos, Dixons etc), and reading some of the reviews on this Ciao, I went the whole hog and paid £119.99 for the 256 MB MuVo NX at Dixons. MY main reason for choosing the MuVo was the favourable reviews, and the fact it has NO moving parts at all - ideal for banging around in the gym!
My first - and lasting - impressions were that this is a *brilliant* little machine.
You need to be computer-literate before using it though; to put your favourite tracks onto...

Creative MuVo TX 512mb
Review of Creative MuVo TX 256MB 256 MB by
Stevehagerty
Advantages: Light, Compact, Great Sound Quality
Disadvantages: Suitable only for easy access USB ports
...The Creative MuVo is a flash memory based mp3 player, which basically means no moving parts (unlike iPods and other similar products) which means there really isn't that much to break on it! You are offered three different memory sizes; 128, 256, and 512mb (megabytes).
MEMORY:
Obviously, the larger the memory capacity, the more tracks it can hold, although, this also depends on what format you choose to have your tracks as. MP3 (Mpeg Layer 3) boasts higher quality, playing at 126 kbs (which basically means how much data is being transferred) and WMA (Windows Media Audio) is typically at 64 kb/s. This presents a noticeable difference in the size of the file (usually WMA is around half the size of a MP3 file) which means you can get around twice as many WMA files on your MP3 player.
Some people may complain that the sound quality...

MuVo2 - Fending Off The Attack of The iPod
Review of Creative MuVo2 4GB 4 GB by
willbradley
Advantages: Excellent sound quality, compact, not overpriced, longlasting re-chargable battery
Disadvantages: Small display
...The Creative MuVo2 4GB is a reliable little player. Fantastic sound quality, carries 4GB, physically very small and at a price you can afford.
When looking for a MP3 player I had a reasonable budget so I could afford to get a player with a good capacity, but could not afford the more expensive iPod.
For this reson I chose the MuVo2 - decent capacity at a very good price.
This player is very comapact too. About 70mm x 70mm x 15mm. It weighs very little too, the player itself is light and the replaceable lithium-ion battery is light and thin.
The display is small but manages to display song name, track number, elapsed time and battery life easily. The display is LCD with a blue back light. Navigation through your playlists can be slighlty irritating as you can only see the name of one song/album at a time. However...

MuVover Ipod, theres a new daddy in town.
Review of Creative MuVo TX 512 MB by
renegade2005
Advantages: cheap, small, easy to use, good memory storage, especially for the price.
Disadvantages: high maintenance, easily damaged
...I recieved my 512MB creative MuVo TX as a gift for christmas so i'm not sure on the price, but they can be picked up for around £70 on the internet. from sites such as amazon.co.uk or ebay.
Within minutes of opening it i put it to use, loading 30 tracks from my laptop straight to the memory stick via its USB port, no special software required just a drag and click or copy and paste. apart from its small size and easy set up it also looks stylish, the battery packs can be replaced and come in a variety of cool colours and styles. with the MP3 Player comes creative labs headphones, a clear cover to reduce damage from wear and tear and a elasticated arm band for use when jogging or other energetic acitivities.
on the MP3 player itself are many cool functions, you can flip the LCD orientation (turn the screen upside down) record hours...

Creative MuVo TX FM
Review of Creative MuVo TX FM 128 MB by
amazoco
Advantages: Sound quality, price!
Disadvantages: The radio!
..., it only lasts for maybe a tenth of a second, and it's quite rare - maybe once in about 10 hours of playing. Still, I expect that's true of many players. Compared to tape, or jogging with a CD player, this format is virtually flawless because it's electronic.
In terms of style, well, maybe it doesn't have the mass market 'bling bling' appeal of the pretentious, and similarly priced iPod shuffle. But in my opinion, the fact that the iPod shuffle doesn't have an LCD screen puts the MuVo at an advantage. The MuVo's small, and does its job perfectly, whilst still looking pretty nice. The backlight's cool, although the blue on the advertising picture (above) is a little exagerated.
The controls are easy to use, and I really don't think you could want more from a player, even if you paid another £50 - £100. If you want the 512MB version, I...

On the MuVo
Review of Creative MuVo Micro N200 512 MB by
Segedunum
Advantages: Small, includes radio
Disadvantages: Fiddly menu system
...*** Introduction ***
I found that listening to MP3/WMA files on my PDA/navigator was rather cumbersome. I wanted a tiny player to use whilst I traveled on holiday ferries overnight or in hotel rooms without disturbing my partner.
My main use was to be for audio books and plays, so memory size was not a critical issue. I have no idea what 200 songs store in 512MB means, but I did find out that it is equivalent to 16 hours of MP3 or 32 hours of WMA music - more than enough for my needs during holidays.
A built in radio would also be useful. Disposable batteries would also do away with the need to find somewhere to recharge the device worldwide.
The MuVo N200 fitted the bill.
*** Features ***
Soft "jelly" case, belt loop, arm band
Earphones (white) see comments below,
Battery (AAA) up to 15hrs life...

Music on the MuVo
Review of Creative MP3 player by
PitSweat
Advantages: Tiny player with a massive voice and desire to hold your files for you
Disadvantages: No competition with Jukeboxes but no need, stands out on it's own
..., which is where the MuVo comes in…
In the MuVo, Creative Labs have succeeded in designing possibly the most convenient and reliable portable music and data device available on the market at this point in time. But then again what else could you expect from the makers of the Sound Blaster sound cards? The MuVo itself has a 2-piece design containing both a USB drive and battery compartment. The USB drive (or MuVo Memory as Creative refer to it) plugs into any computer USB port and within seconds (depending on your PC speed of course) the little fella is picked up. For those of us enjoying the freedom of a post Windows 98 operating system, your PC will simply say “Ah, you’ve bought a MuVo” and set up an additional drive for you to conveniently drag and drop files into. Otherwise there are driver disks supplied that must be used before hand...
