T. Rex's Best Album

Advantages: a great overall album, some great songs
Disadvantages: Some repetitive songs

Mambo Sun: This song is quite typical T-Rex, with its pulsing rhythm and lilting guitars; it very much encapsulates the early 70?s glam rock era, so perhaps would only appeal to people who are interested in this era. The lyrics are typically rather cryptic and very abstract. This song is not particularly stunning, and definitely not one of the better tracks on the album. 2. Cosmic Dancer: Quite a slow, relaxed song with acoustic guitars and violin accompaniment. Marc Bolan?s voice is great on this song and is a very good example of his very distinctive singing style. I should imagine that this song has a wider appeal as it seems to me to be less dated now than many of the other songs on this album, and it was used in the film ?Billy Elliot?. The Expérience Cinématique that is Le Grand Rex

...never caused an issue with regards noise. Viewing Experience If you're a bit of a film buff, you probably won't be impressed by the facilities Le Grand Rex has to offer. The screens are small and the seating isn't brilliantly arranged. I can't remember how many screens there are, but it is in the region of about 6 or 7, not including the Grande Salle. The rooms do all differ, some are better than others. Some even include pretty lights on the ceiling and other interesting décor. The equipment is certainly not top of the range, so neither sound nor screen quality is brilliant, so it's probably best to watch a visually stunning film, whose special effects are meant to be enjoyed on the big screen, elsewhere...such as the aforementioned Grande Salle. Admittedly, I've never watched a film in this room, but I did accidently walk in...

Advantages: Glam Rock at it's best

...every child the chance to dance" and " Deep in my heart there is a house that can hold just about all of you" So when my son gave me the Born to Boogie DVD along with a bottle of Bacardi and some mints, I reckoned it was time for a few drinks and a little nostalgia. If you hear a few sniffles or sobs don't worry I'll be happy. The DVD comes in a white box with a silhouette of Marc sitting on a tiger in its centre. Above this are the rather large diamond studded letters of T. REX and above this in red letters Marc Bolan. Underneath the silhouette is the DVD title Born to Boogie. At the very bottom are a few of the stars on the DVD namely, T.Rex, Marc Bolan, Ringo Starr and Elton John. On the back of the box is a list of Scenes and things you can expect to find on the DVD. Review of Born To Boogie (Soundtrack Album) - Marc Bolan & T-Rex

An action figure that has the "REX FACTOR" !

Advantages: A great action figure with lots of character. Well made, fun to play with and collectable.
Disadvantages: Costly ... you don't get much change from a tenner these days when buying an action figure !!!

...... and for younger children wanting to re-create the action and excitement of the Clone Wars the figures themselves could prove costly. Of course for some adult collectors the figure would be kept mint on a card but for "play" purposes I would suggest tracking down figures loose on sites such as eBay. I recently "won" several loose Clone Wars Clone Troopers on eBay the most expensive costing £2.99 and the least expensive for a winning bid of just 6p !!!!! *** Please have a look at the photographs I have attached to this review as I have included an "online advert" from amazon.co.uk for the Captain Rex Figure which seems to suggest that if you don't buy it "right now" then you're going to be disappointed. I clicked on the link myself to discover Captain Rex being sold at a whopping £21.00 !!! This is both misleading and greedy (in my opinion) ... two...

...This album has become a classic, being released back in 1972 it is another example of music that stands the test of time. Some call it glam rock others pop or indeed rock. Whatever title it is given this is music at its purest form, the album has so much to offer the listener, the tracks offer a diverse range of sounds, from slow ballads through to upbeat tempos. The Slider saw T Rex at its peak, it followed another classic album called Electric Warrior and a lot of people doubted that this album could be as good. Disadvantages: Remix disc is not much to write home about.

...Back in 1972, when this was first released, the reception was luke warm by the critics. The follow up album to "Electric Warrior" was obviously going to be a hard act to follow. But now, thirty-four (yes THIRTY-FOUR!!!) years later it has earned a place in Pop history. This won't be to everyone's taste. Simple riffs, three chord progressions and simple lyrics do not appeal to everybody, but as T Rex albums go, it's not bad. There are a couple of singles on here: "Metal Guru" A fine pop song with a driving guitar line and inane lyrics. Had all the teenies swooning on TOTP, with Marc sashaying about the stage with his feather boa, Les Paul in hand, pushing the boundaries further than anyone had done before. (Apart from Mr Bowie of course).Then there's "Telegram Sam". A grinding insistent little three chord riff with trite lyrics...

A T-Rex 'ellent night at the museum

Advantages: Funny, Great Cast
Disadvantages: Slow start

...sent to the museum he gets a job as the Night Watchman. He is given the basic outline of the job by Cecil who is played by Dick Van Dyke (Best known for Mary Poppins and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang). Cecil currently works the night shift along with Gus (Mickey Rooney) and Reginald (Bill Cobbs). But due to cutbacks the museum only needs 1 night watchman and so the older men are retiring. Larry wasn't exactly applying for the night shift, but begrudgingly accepts the job out of desperation. This is when the fun starts! The museum is not as it seems. Basically all the exhibits come to life as soon as the sun goes down and turn back to exhibits as the sun comes up. Larry discovers this as he is being chased by the bones of a T-Rex!
