Selective cleaning
Review of Salon Selectives Moisturising Shampoo by
scraggly
Advantages: Lovely fragrance
Disadvantages: Does not clean your hair
...I used to use Salon Selectives as a teenager so when I saw it recently in my local Wizard store (a Pound shop) I snatched it up.
I rushed home with a bottle each of shampoo and conditioner in my hot little hands. Imagine my disappointment when I realised that the products have changed beyond all recognition. Let me put it simply, apart from adding a delicious fragrance to your hair, they simply don't work. But I'm getting ahead of myself.
*Appearance*
Salon Selectives shampoo can still be found in bright pink plastic bottles with the words Salon Selectives in large white letters across the front. In fact I feel that its appearance is looking rather dated, a little too 80s perhaps, when compared to the rather sleek and sophisticated and altogether less in your face design of toiletry packaging these days. The bottle has a flip...

Select a bargain
Review of Select (Shop) by
vonney1967
Advantages: Cheap good qualtiy clothing
Disadvantages: Could do with bigger stores
...I recently discovered an excellent little shop named select.
I found this little aladins cave which is packed full of low budget bargains in Rutherglen shopping centre which i usually only visit for a cafe lunch as the shops in recent years really havent been up to much but when i noticed a new shop had filled the space of one of the many vacant retail units i couldnt resist going in for a quick browse. Before i knew it i had been in the shop for more than 45 minutes and was making my way to the till with arms full of pretty summer dresses and a few other goodies.
I purchased three dresses to wear over leggings. Each dress was great quality especially for the rock bottom price tag that they came with and they were all much more interesting than the clothes i usually buy from my usual high street favourites.
QUALITY
The three...

Select these crisps if you want value for money
Review of Tesco Select Great British Crisps by
welshwickedone
Advantages: Great on price, Kids love them
Disadvantages: Not for the crisp experts, small bags
...Tesco Select Crisps Multipack 30 Pack Assorted
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
About the Product.
-----------------------------------
Select is the Tesco's own range of crisps. Tesco began life as a Market Stall in 1919 by Jack Cohen, from opening that first stall he continued to expand from the success to have many market stalls all over London and expanded into wholesale trade as well. In 1924, the first of the Tesco home brand products emerged in the form of Tesco Tea and began the emergence of Tesco as a trade name. In 1932 Tesco Stores became a commandite company and two years later after purchasing a piece of land in North London the first ever Tesco store was developed and opened to the public. Tesco offered the food-rationing scheme before the government did at the beginning of World War 2 to ensure everybody...
shopping at select
Review of Select (Shop) by
rachpauljack
Advantages: value for money
Disadvantages: gets a bit crowded
...I was saying to my best friend that we need some good clothes shops for women in our area.
We live in a small town with not a great variety of shops, the one store we usually went to was peacocks but i think they have started to go down hill a little bit,there clothes tend to look cheap.
To our suprise the following week a new shop was to open and of course it was select , i was so excited i love to shop and it was local what more could i ask for.
Opening day of select we dived in to the shop and i had gone to heaven not only were the clothes execellent value for money , they were execellent quality too,and they had a openning day sale( bliss )
The overall layout of the shop was good but a little bit crowded,as i had my son in his pushchair i found he grabbed quite a few clothes from the rails(a bit emmbarassing when he is trailing...
salon selectives styling mousse
Review of Salon Selectives Styling Mousse Curl Boost by
royaljaz
Advantages: very good for curly hair
Disadvantages: none
...I first brought salon selectives curl boost styling mousse 6 months ago. I had just had my hair permed and waking in the morning my hair was all bushy and i'd wet it everyday but when it dried my hair would be frizzy.
A friend told me of salon selectives styling mousse and that they had one for curly hair, so i thought why not i'll give it ago.
Ever since i have been using it. It really does help your hair, not only does it hold your hair in place it conditions your hair at the same time.
I now don't have to worry about having frizzy hair as the mousse stops my hair from frizzing when dry, and it also holds my hair in place all day long which i think is really goods.
It is tailored for curly and permed hair, it gives your hair a boost and body and your hair feels full of life.
All you do is wash or dampen your hair squeeze...
Select your favourite clothes at a low price
Review of Select (Shop) by
jenny_carr
Advantages: Good clothes for the prices
Disadvantages: The rails and the changing rooms
...As I walk along the busy highstreet of Weston-super-Mare, Select cathes my eye with the big sale signs in the window. I instantly think ahhh plenty of bargins so I find myself trying to weave myself though the crowds and eventually I have reached the shop.
I'm standing in the doorway of Select scanning the shop with my eyes deciding in which direction to head. The shop looks crammed with people and the clothes rails look quite close together so the layout to me isn't very pleasing. Oh well, I think to myself shall I risk getting squashed or shall I leave the gorgeous jeans to my right. Of course the first option sounds good so I take a deep breath and squeeze myself over to the jeans.
After saying sorry for accidently pushing a few of the customers, I'm finally infront of the jeans. There are about 5 or 6 different kinds...
Cadburys Christmas Selection Boxes
Review of Cadbury Selection Box by
BUBBLES171
Advantages: Here we go chocolate again
Disadvantages: overpriced
...Well this one had to be a bit on the festive side and today I went to bingo and won £50 and a mountain of selection boxes.
Now these are a treat as I do not normally buy them now as all my friends kids are all grown up, but secretly I do like to get one or two.
The Cadburys 99p section box is the one I am going to write about, however you can get larger ones that go up to around £5 and if you look out for the £2.99 ones you can normally buy two for a £5. Bargain eh, well lets take a look.
The Packing
=
A very pretty tin foiled packet measuring around 12 inches by 8 inches. The writing is in gold and says Cadbury and in red it has selection. On the far right is a little mouse in a christmas stocking fast asleep on a christmas tree next to a blue bauble.
It also shows you the contents on the front.
On the back...
What Will You Select??
Review of Tesco "Select" Prawn Cocktail Crisps by
daylehall
Advantages: lots of flavour, cheaper than leading brand crisps
Disadvantages: only available at Tesco
...I have an absolute addiction to crisps, I like all brands and nearly all flavours. Everyone is familiar with the famous brands such as Walkers, Monster Munch etc so I thought I would do a review on a brand that aren't so well known - the Tesco Select range and the flavour I am reviewing is prawn cocktail.
Packaging
The prawn cocktail flavour packet is a dark metallic pink colour. Tesco Select crisps is written across the front of the packet in fairly large writing, and prawn cocktail is written in smaller white writing in the bottom right hand corner of the packet.
On the back of the packet is all the usual information such as ingredients, nutritional information and a questions and comments helpline. The best before date is also written on the back of the packet on the right hand side.
The bag itself is lined with foil...
SALON SELECTIVES CONDITIONER
Review of Salon Selectives Moisturising Conditioner by
Robertpowles
Advantages: The smell and price! It works wonders on my hair!
Disadvantages: None
...My last opinion was about Salon Selectives shampoo. Now, I thought I'd tell you all about the conditioner!
Contained in a pink bottle, I paid the same as the shampoo, 99p for a 300ml bottle.
The conditioner is for fine and lifeless hair, which mine is. Just a shame it's gone grey! It contains a pH balanced conditioning system, and also Pro-Vitamin B5, a moisturising agent. These 2 ingredients added together leaves your hair feeling soft and stronger, and easy to manage and brush through. It also contains a UV filter.
The smell is lovely. Like the shampoo, it smells of strawberries, and the conditioner itself is a pale pink in colour.
After shampooing your hair, apply the conditioner, and leave for as long as you wish before rinsing off with warm water. Before adding conditioner, dab your hair with a towel...
