A Serious Alternative to an iPod
Review of Creative MuVo T100 4 GB by
JPEvans
Advantages: Compact, lightweight, easy to use, no wires
Disadvantages: No lcd screen, can be time-consuming to find specific tracks
...If you're after an mp3 player but refuse to pay the high prices required for an iPod, then I highly recommend the Creative MuVo T100.
Originally, I only purchased this product in order to listen to music whilst exercising as I already owned a larger mp3 player with much more storage. However, due to the MuVo's ease of use and small size, my other mp3 player quickly became redundant!
This product is very easy to use, just plug it into your computer, transfer music files over and you're away, no wires needed. Different albums can be stored in different folders and then skipped through easily. A random play function is also provided. My biggest inconveniance when using the player is that it can take a while to find specific tracks as it is only possible to skip folders in one direction.
The sound quality is more than adequate...

A good TV that won't 100 htz your pocket!
Review of Philips 32PW9308 by
Niburu
Advantages: Value for money, good picture
Disadvantages: Looks, underperforms with poor signal
..., so clear and concise commands are preferred here.
Installation is easy, as these days they pretty much do everything for you but a quick glance at the manual is probably recommended to check your setup.
A powerful, yet pretty simple TV.
Connectability
In the modern world of AV components, its pretty important to check it will integrate with your current equipment. The Philips has the standard sockets for input and output and rather than go nuts on this one, I have listed them below for your reference :
2 x Scart Sockets (1 RGB), Audio out and Video out on rear of TV (stereo audio), side AV inputs (for Camcorder connection)
Value for Money/Conclusion
Depending on how much you bagged this TV for, depends on how good it is for its money.
I won’t mess about, this is a budget 100htz flat screen 32” TV but it’s a very good...

Multimedia on the move Archos AV700 (40GB)
Review of Archos AV700 Mobile Digital Video Recorder 40 GB by
nick979
Advantages: Everything you could want apart from a phone!!
Disadvantages: Earphones might be a proble for some people
...I previously bought the Archos Jukebox and have had it for a few years. I had been really pleased with it, unfortunately it was not holding its charge as well and decided to upgrade.
I wasn't 100% sure about buying an AV700 because of the reviews I had read about it. I had read some reviews which pointed out some difficulty when transferring files. I must say I have not had any problems with transferring and files from my pc and in fact have found it very easy. Other problems which I have read about are the viewing screen quality. I have not had any problems with this myself but, I did spend quite a lot of time going through the manual to familiarise myself with the controls etc.
I had been so pleased with the products from them that I decided to go for it anyway and I am so glad that I did. The picture quality is fantastic, I...

Big Improvement but Still More to Come!
Review of Apple iPod 60 GB by
stey2k
Advantages: Amazing Capacity! Very Clear Screen and Video Quality (Usually)
Disadvantages: Battery Life Whilst Watching Videos, earphones and iTunes!
...because anything with bass just goes crackly in them. iTunes also isn't 100% on Windows Operating Systems as well yet. I get odd times when after updating the iPod my computer just restarts itself.
However, Apple have made an excellent job of this iPod it is still sleak, stylish and is also a LOT thinner than it used to be, it is nice to hold and you will probably want to buy a skin for it to protect it from getting scratched, this will help its re-sale value a lot should you ever want to sell it. You can display album art for every song, put Podcasts on and also view picture slideshows. The iPod has many in-built Equalisor settings that are excellent and the clicker wheel has improved in sensitivity.
All in all the iPod video is worth the buy, they are some inconveniances but that is all they are, nothing major. However, remember...

My New MP3 Player
Review of Packard Bell - Audiodream 512Mb MP3/WMA Player by
Danz0r
Advantages: Small, Lightweight, Stylish
Disadvantages: Not really enough memory, Fragile
...is the fragileness of the player itself. I managed to crack the screen on mine within 6 weeks, and that was only by dropping it onto concrete from about 2 feet, which was almost dissapointing, although my own fault :P.
Also, the firmware isn't 100% reliable, as mine crashes occasionaly, maybe once every 6 uses or so, but its easy to fix, just pressing the power override switch to off, then back on.
Technical Specs

DVD On A Budget...
Review of Akura ADV147 by
suddenend
Advantages: Very, Very Cheap; Does What It Says On The Tin
Disadvantages: Big , Quite Heavy, Don't Know When It's On
..., I waited for the drive to rev up and then watched intently as the threat of impending death and mayhem from our friends at F.A.S.T. popped up on to the TV screen. Thirty seconds later the DVD's title page appeared and I studied the image quality. Not bad. For so little money I expected a noisy drive and a wobbly, pixelated image. The drive whirred quietly and the image was rock solid with no evidence of artefacts. I hit the play button on the front of the player and sat back a little to check out the quality. Again, not bad. I knew from when I first checked out this movie the recording wasn't 100%, more Super Video-CD than true DVD, so I wasn't disappointed when the image appeared slightly blocky.
Letting the movie run, I turned my attention to the remote control. I fed it the two supplied AAA batteries and studied it. My first thought...

Better Ones Out There.
Review of Philips SA2210 1 GB by
lozzy_lou178
Advantages: Clear sound, easy to transfer music, large memory
Disadvantages: Expensive for what you get, limited features, quite big
...I have recently brought myself a new MP3 player as my last one broke while on holiday. I didn't want an expensive one as the only time I use it is when I am either travelling on a long distance journey or when I am on holiday. Saying that, I didn't exactly want a cheap one either that wasn't going to last me very long.
I had a look through the Argos catalogue and came across the Philips GoGear 1GB MP3 player. It was priced at £24.99. I thought this wasn't too high a price to pay, as it had a 1GB memory which averages at approximatley 460 songs - which is more than plenty for me as on average, I only have about 100 songs on there at a time.
The MP3 player was packaged in a plastic casing clearly stating the brand name and memory size on the front. The box was really hard to get into and there was no way I could of got...

Philips SA1355
Review of Philips GoGear SA1355 1 GB by
Lonewoolf
Advantages: Cheap. Nice design.
Disadvantages: No clock. Ugly LCD colours. Bad sound quality on original headphones.
...This product is great! It has a very slim design, the front glass giving it an expensive and fine look. It's very easy to use although i don't understand why it has a scroll speed function in the menu. Instead they should have put a clock and calendar. The original headphones aren't so great. The sound is clear but they don't cover the overall city noise. So you should buy a better set. I bought another Philips headphone set which costs about 8 euro. The interface is simple and accessible for everyone but the LCD colors are horrible. The blue and yellow LCD colors make it look ugly and tasteless. It has a very useful folder view of the songs and if you select one a pop-up window will appear and you can delete the tracks you don't want anymore. The radio signal isn't 100% clear but not many devices can do that. Also the radio recording...
