Good value for money but not perfect
Review of Toshiba Equium A200-15I - Pentium Dual Core T2080 1.73 GHz - 15.4" TFT by
IzzyS
Advantages: Decent spec. including decent memory, card reader, DVD writer etc., quite light and portable
Disadvantages: See review
...for being good multitaskers, so its good to have the computer following suit - we can use that to our advantage, right? ;-) lol! (another note for those that are interested, yes this has a Dual Core processor but yes it isn't one of the best, as you may expect for the price this sells at (c. £500-£550 as of October 2007), its actually a T2080 genuine Intel dual core processor with each of the two mini-processors offering 1.73Ghz, if that helps, but either way its still genuine Intel Dual Core for £500, before I hadn't seen any Dual Core laptops with decent RAM and a good size hard drive for under £600, so its still a good deal in my eyes, even though this is the most budget Dual Core processor Intel provide, or so I believe(?)).
Other things I read on the webpage that it comes with, that also made me feel that this would be particularly good...

jujitsus best laptop yet!!
Review of Fujitsu Siemens AMILO Pro V3515 Edition - Pentium Dual Core T2080 1.73 GHz - 15.4" TFT by
punk_rocker
Advantages: great all rounder
Disadvantages: games
...I really love this laptop, previously siemens haven't really made good computers or laptops but they are now starting to come out with really good products from their Fujitsu ranges.
This is a amilo pro V3515, its looks stylish and is quite compact too.
It features Intel Pentium Dual Core T2080 / 1.73 GHz processor which runs the 1gb of installed ram like a dream. Also if you use demanding programs and need more ram then this can be upgraded to a maximum of 2gb. This however if quite dear to do and could cost around £50.
This laptop has a great 120 GB hard drive to store all your data on, also it runs at 5400 rpm which is rather quick.
A criticism to fujitsu would be that this laptop doesn't have a card reader built into it, this is something a lot of people need so i was disappointed to see it didn't contain one.
This amilo...

Advantages: Great laptop
Disadvantages: none yet
...with the special tft monitor cleaner, just put on a cloth and everything comes off and leaves the monitor nice and gleaming!
This laptop is very easy to use for any computer whizz or dummy (like me), as it is very easy to get to grips with. It has taken me all of a week to figure out where programmes are and stuff on here, more used to a computer! The ease is just incredable.
Here is the specs of it all that is off the Toshiba Website:

fab laptop
Review of Fujitsu Siemens AMILO Pro V3515 Edition - Pentium Dual Core T2080 1.73 GHz - 15.4" TFT by
techno_man_37
Advantages: great speeds
Disadvantages: not alot of extra features
...laptop looks really good, it's a combination of black and silvery white plastic body and this two tone colour makes it look really cool and modern.
It features a Intel Pentium Dual Core T2080 / 1.73 Ghz processor which runs the 1gb of ram very well, and you'll be surprised at quite how fast this is, maybe its just how fujitsu makes their laptops, but this with only 1gb of ram seems a lot faster than some of the other brands of laptop iv come across which also had 1gb of ram installed.
Another good thing about this is that the 1gb of ram can be upgraded to 2gb, however this is quite pricy and will usually cost over £50. However if you do need more ram and a quicker laptop all round then this might be something to think about.
This laptop contains what seems to be the bear minimum of hard drive space these days. It has 80 gb which...

A solid peformer.
Review of Dell Inspiron 6400 - Pentium Dual Core T2080 1.73 GHz - 15.4" TFT by
CVT1
Advantages: Excellent trackpad and screen.
Disadvantages: A little heavy.
....
The battery has a manual capacity button, so that it is easy to read the amount of charge left. FIve hours during normal surfing and Office work is around five hours, with two and a half to three for DVD watching. My battery is the nine cell model.
The pro wireless card functions well and connection to a wireless network is easy and hassle free.
The fans, which have three speeds work quietly and the chassis does not get overly hot.
The build quality is excellent, although I am not entirely sure about the 'Ipod' white strips down the sides of the casing. However, this isn't enough to put me off the machine.
Overall, the Dual Core makes for a swift machine, which is able to carry out several instructions at a time. The Dell MediaDirect button under the screen is handy too, as it is not necessary to boot up into Windows to watch a DVD...

Great Value for Money
Review of Toshiba Satellite L30-10S - Pentium Dual Core T2080 1.73 GHz - 15.4" TFT by
Boroggo
Advantages: Low Cost, Good Spec on the Whole
Disadvantages: Not Enough Ram Installed
....crucial.co.uk), and at £15+ for another 512MB of ram or £24 for an additional 1GB of ram its well worth doing.
The wireless functionality of this laptop is very easy to use. Just flick the switch on the front and it starts to scan the surroundings for any available networks.
The single biggest selling point this laptop has over other comparatively priced laptops is that this comes with a Dual Core (2 CPU's in one) processor and the majority of others come with a Celeron (1 reduced power CPU)
Overall I would recommend buying this if you are on a tight budget but only if you can afford the £30 max for the memory upgrade....

Awesome laptop, great value and performance
Review of Fujitsu Siemens AMILO Li 1718 - Pentium Dual Core T2080 1.73 GHz - 15.4" TFT by
jackthewelshman
Advantages: 2gb RAM, Dual Core, large screen, wi-fi
Disadvantages: Slighlty heavy, 2.5/3 hour battery
...Specs
There are ranging specs for this laptop so dont always take Ciao's specification. Mine was as described (from what I can see) with 2gb RAM and Windwos Vista Home Premium.
Value
I paid £430 for my laptop around 8 months before writing this review, at the time it was a bargain for these specs, and it still is quite a good price 8 months on.
Hardware / Speed
The 2gb of RAM is plenty for running many applications, and performing tasks - mine has never peaked out. 1gb is only just adequate for Vista but 2gb is plenty.
The dual core processor is adquate for its job, Its performed well viewing videos, converting videos, virus scanning and shredding files. It can do a difficult task such as convert a video into a different format, while you browse online. Or virus scan while you use the laptop normally with no real slow down...

Nice laptop, nice price
Review of Fujitsu Siemens AMILO Li 1718 - Pentium Dual Core T2080 1.73 GHz - 15.4" TFT by
Jozeyu
Advantages: Monitor, Dual Core, keyboard, wireless
Disadvantages: Graphics card, touchpad
...For a University student on the go, you can't get much better than this on a budget. I've had mine for about a year now (paid £399), and it still functions good as new. The battery still lasts the stated 2 and a half hours, and applications continue to run smoothly.
As a design and media student, I have to make use of such programs as Adobe Photoshop, Macromedia Flash and Encore. I've had no problems running any of these, the Dual Core works wonders and everything loads quickly.
In addition, if you're wanting to install and play various games, you should have no problem with this laptop, I've got a myriad of both 2D and 3D games installed that work fine. However, the 3D games suffer in the graphics department - even with system performance set to high the images will rarely be at their best.
As others have mentioned...

Dell Inspiron 6400
Review of Dell Inspiron 6400 - Pentium Dual Core T2080 1.73 GHz - 15.4" TFT by
anita99
Advantages: Fast, good looking and reliable
Disadvantages: heavy, a lot of unnecessary programs on it when purchased and short warranty
...Technological facts- I have 1024mb of RAM and a 60 gb hard drive. The screen is 15.4" wide screen with intel Dual-Core processor. I do not have vista installed but the machine is vista capable. The graphics card is a Intel Media Accelerator 950. It has a built in DVD R/RW drive, 4 USB ports, a port for a camera memory card and it has a 9cell lithium ion battery and has wireless connectivity.
My opinions- At first glance I got the impression that Dell had jumped on the Mac bandwagon and decked their machines out with white casing, albeit only around the edges. I personally think the effect looks stylish and works well with the overall silver colour.
The media buttons on the front of the machine also look good, although I am not entirely convinced about how functional they are. To use all but the sound buttons, the media player you...
