Sony go Home
Review of Sony VAIO AR61S - Core 2 Duo T8100 2.1 GHz - 17" TFT by
piiindy
Advantages: Blu-ray, large screen, high spec
Disadvantages: processor a bit behind the rest of its high spec gizmos
...The Sony Vaio a business laptop, not this one. Even thought sony would make a laptop for your home use, shur the business ones were great and good to use at home, but this one goes the other way round its great at home and good for business, though not as portable with a 17" screen so for a business i wouldn't recommend, but still good. It seems Vaio have started to make good laptops for the home as well as leading the way in business laptops.
This one features a 17" screen! 2.1 Ghz processor, which is pretty fast and 2 GB of ram which is excelent for your mulitimedia uses. 400GB or storage! superb for storing movies and songs, and a gig or video memory again superb for movies meaning more frames per second are played and of better quality.
At £1000 you may feel it's out of budget, but it has a blu-ray player, which will cost...

Samsung R700 Awesome Laptop
Review of Samsung R700 Core 2 Duo T8100 2.1 GHz - 17" TFT by
Strawberrygashesgirl
Advantages: Big screen, Cheap, Big Hard Drive, Nvidia graphics, just very nice!
Disadvantages: Noisy fan, glossy black cover can scratch easily
...I bought one of these in March 2008.
It's the first laptop I ever bought, so I was looking for something cheap, good-looking and that works well.
I came across this, lovely sleek black samsung R700, it has a nice big bright screen, so looking at it is great and it is easy to work on. Great for doing digital art/programming on.
The keys are nice although they have worn a little on mine already, after only a few months, but then I use them a lot, I have now moved to a wireless mouse and keyboard to save the life-span of the keys and mousepad. The mousepad has also worn a bit and has become "not very nice to the touch" where it hasn't got the same grittiness that it first had.
It runs very smoothly, I've tried a few of the latest games on it and it runs them fine for my standards with its 2GB Ram, and I have plenty of room...

Brains AND beauty - the 6920 has it all
Review of Acer Aspire 6920G-814G32Bn - Core 2 Duo T8100 2.1 GHz - 16" TFT by
technosplat
Advantages: Speed, reliability, stunning good looks
Disadvantages: Quite heavy, will make everything else seem a bit uglier
...A truly stunning piece of technology doesn't happen every day - at least not for this money!
Under the £1000 mark you can now buy decent laptops - good specs, well equipped machines. But until now, their ugliness made them embarrasing to take out of the house. The Acer 6920 changes all that.
We needed a laptop for our photographic business, so it had to be fast, powerful and reliable. The Intel Core2 Duo produces a staggering amount of clock speed, around 5 GhZ if you add it up in real terms. Coupled with 4Gb RAM (good quality stuff too), an impressive DEDICATED graphics card and beautiful glass-fronted display, the 6920 meets all the geeky criteria and some!
However, the specs (as impressive as they are) are not the 6920's party piece. No. That, ladies and gentlemen, is it's looks. It - is - stunning. No other way to describe...

Review of HP Pavilion dv6853ea Entertainment - Core 2 Duo T8100 2.1 GHz - 15.4" TFT by
Cherryn
Advantages: A lot of features crammed in, with great performance and no glitches
Disadvantages: Quiet sound on DVDs
...So far I've had a great experience with this laptop (I have had mine for approx 2 months, so to some degree I am still learning some of its features). It has been fast, and has more than enough memory for the data analysis programmes I use. The screen is great for watching movies, and the card reader makes easy work of uploading photos from my camera. The only downside is that the speakers don't always seem to go loud enough for DVDs (although interestingly I haven't had this problem with music). However, the HP docking station has been an affordable (at significantly below RRP at local electronic stores) and effective solution! On a more girlie note, the pattern on the casing is elegant and a bit more fun than you're usual. Technically speaking, what can I say? It has done exactly what it says on the tin! From someone who previously had...

Inspiron 1525, lets have some more fun
Review of Dell Inspiron 1525 by
gemsarchitect
Advantages: Adequate features, upgrade options available
Disadvantages: traditional graphics card
...computer and laptop.
Inspiron 1525 have good double core processor for better performance that is Intel® CoreTM 2 Duo Processor T5750.
T5750 is low range popular processor it has clock speed of 2.0 GHz, 2MB L2 Cache, and front side bus is 667 MHz FSB.
So that for general use it it good processor and can provide satisfactory performance as well
Now we have some option to upgrade our processor, but we have to pay more for that.
Now have a look that what can we get by upgrading of processor..
T8100, This processor is I think more enough for every application in laptop.
The clock speed of T8100 is 2.1 GHz, 3MB L2 Cache, and front side bus is 800 MHz FSB.
T8300, the another higher option is T83oo processor it has clock speed of 2.4GHz, 3MB L2 Cache, and its front side bus speed is 800 MHz FSB.
So that as considering processor it has good...
