Intel Core 2 Duo E6750/ 2.66ghz
Review of Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 / 2.66 GHz processor by
mazuk88
Advantages: Fast clock speed / Good amount of lvl2 cache
Disadvantages: Could balance out workload onto both cores a bit more
...This processor is a fairly mid-high spec for core 2 duo range it delivers some great performance for a good price.
This cpu can handle a lot of multi-tasking along with playing powerful games. Usually i can run a defragmentation and notice it hardly at all i can play games and play music with no problem it just makes desktop computing so easy.
As you may know this is an Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 / 2.66ghz cpu, It has 2 cores on the one chip. it runs with 64-bit architecture which then opens up a whole new world of 64-bit operating systems for tommorows technolodgy...this along with the fact it has 4mb lvl2 cache makes superfast repsonse rates to programs and files i have also noticed that their are not so many "cache misses" to which i expected so this pleases me the most :D
The only downside is that i have noticed that core...

The new Intel Core 2 Duo E6420 just rocks
Review of Intel Core 2 Duo E6420 / 2.13 GHz processor by
neo1983
Advantages: Good performance, Great value, Low power consumption, Stability
Disadvantages: None
...A good friend of mine bought this processor and immediately tested it to see the advantages of 4 MB of cache. This new Intel core 2 processor E6420 replaces the old Core Duo E6400, and has a series of notable advantages over the latter one. I tested both products and one thing is sure, by adding two extra MB on the processor die, the performance increased quite a little. I've tested both processors in several aplications and the speed difference varies from almost none (rendering), to notable in encoding, compressing, multimedia (3-6 % speed increase) and to maximum 7-9% speed increase in games and this at the same price like E6400 processor.
The speed is just great for it's price and if you thing it isn't fast enough this processor is highly overclockable. my tested version worked until 3.15 Ghz with the stock cooler included...

MacBook Pro Core 2 Duo 2.16Ghz
Review of Apple MacBook Pro Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz - 15.4" TFT by
steffie23
Advantages: Powerful, Easy to use Software. Not Windows.
Disadvantages: None, honestly.
...This is my first Mac and to say I am amazed is an understatement, this laptop is simply the bomb, everything you could wish for, Fast, Cool and very nice to look at. It has a lighted keyboard making working in low light conditions a breeze. It has 2 USB ports , a FireWire 400 and 800 port and a DVI Port for the best connectivity possible by current standards. The included software is superb, the Magnetic Power Connector is nice and makes using it near animals or small children no problem, if the brush past it, it simply pulls out without risk of knocking the laptop off.
This is the Core 2 Duo version of the MacBook Pro that is Cooler and Slightly faster than the Previous model, the other major differences between this and the older models is the Cache 4 Meg vs 2meg and the addition of 128 Bit SSE making this equal to greater than...

Intel's Core 2 Duo E6300
Review of Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 / 1.86 GHz processor by
nickrein
Advantages: Fast, Dual-Core, Overclockable, Great for Gaming
Disadvantages: Price?
...This is an excellent processor from Intel. It is using the new Core 2 Duo technology. This is a dual-core, meaning that it can preform multiple functions, such as browsing the web and listening to music while burning a cd, very well.
This is one of the less expensive processors from the new line. However, I have found it to be the the processor that has the best value. It is an excellent buy and is strongly recommended for all new computers that can afford to spend this much on a processor.
For those interested in overclocking, it offers unbeatable potential. A huge overclock, meaning about 3.2 ghz, is not uncommon or particularly hard to reach with quality components. Please note that this voids your guarantee however.
This is also perfect for gaming. With this, one core can handle background applications, such as winamp...

Apple MacBook Pro Core 2 Duo 2.5 GHz - 17" TFT
Review of Apple MacBook Pro Core 2 Duo 2.5 GHz - 17" TFT by
pieceofmind
Advantages: nice screen, good battery life, fast specs
Disadvantages: large size (price?)
...Apple mac-books, where to start...
ok, so to start,
it is an apple, that means you get a solid quality product and on the whole very good customer are.
this particualar apple is deffinatly more suited to being a media center than other laptops. At first glance you realise that it is a fairly large laptop, this allows for a big screen, which being an apple ffers clear vivid displays, unfortunatly the big screen increases the overal size and also uses more battery, however, the 4.5 hour yattery is still very good for an entertainment laptop.
The laptops technical specs include a very fast 2.5 ghz dual core proccesor which is very fast, the dual core allows it to tackle multiple tasks quicly as well as increasing the overall speed of the laptop.
The price is quite steep however, but i believe, if given the money...

Intel Core 2 Duo E6550 / 2.33 GHz processor
Review of Intel Core 2 Duo E6550 / 2.33 GHz processor by
mop591
Advantages: Very fast, cheap
Disadvantages: need to have IT expereince
...This intel dual core processor with 2.33Ghz speed (total speed of 4.6Ghz) with a 4MB Cache can handle an awful lot of demanding programs runnning at once, obviously it has its limits, but for the price its a very good processor. This processor is also compatable with 64 bit computing.
It has an LGA775 Socket which is compatable with most of the new motherboards if you are looking to upgrade or build your own pc. If you are looking to buy a processor i would highly recommend this one or several similar ones, but you need to have IT experience and know what you are doing before paying out for one of these. It comes with a 3 year limited warrenty so it is really set to last....

Introducing core 2 duo at the lowest price
Review of Intel Pentium Dual Core E2160 / 1.8 GHz processor by
neo1983
Advantages: Greatest value and performance at the lowest price, highly overclockable
Disadvantages: Only 1MB L2 shared cache, performance hit in games
...; ▀ ▀
First was the great Core 2 Duo E6000 family. The first Intel Core 2 Duo processor cores, code-named Conroe were launched on July 27, 2006 at Fragapalooza, a yearly gaming event in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. These processors are built on a 65 nm process and are intended for desktops, replacing the Pentium 4 and Pentium D. All Conroe processors are manufactured with 4 MB L2 cache; however, for marketing purposes, the E6300 and E6400 versions based on this core have half their cache disabled, leaving them with only 2 MB of usable L2 cache. These processors had great performance and after a long period Intel had again the performance crown in the processors market, beating AMD's Athlon X2 in the majority of benchmarks.
The E4000 family (Allendale core) was launched after few months with the main role to compete...

Apple MacBook Pro Core 2 Duo 2.5 GHz - 15.4" TFT
Review of Apple MacBook Pro Core 2 Duo 2.5 GHz - 15.4" TFT by
sammyboi08
Advantages: ''
Disadvantages: ''
..." (OS10.5) disk since the display model I had bought had the old "Tiger" 10.4.10. Since I work with multimedia and am very impressed with the software delivered with iLife (disk included with the Apple products) I was disappointed to see that most of the items which are of use, do not work using Leopard. So I returned to the older Tiger and this is the system that I am presently testing. With only 1GB of memory I believed that the applications may be a little slow but actually everything seems to be operating as usual. My old Titanium runs at 400MHz and so with the present speed of 2.16GHz I expected an increase in speed but should have known that there would be no change. Software takes just as long to start up, close down and granted I can run several enormous programs parallel, nothing actually is any faster. Points of comment 1...

Review of Apple MacBook Core 2 Duo 2 GHz - 13.3" TFT by
nickyg63
Advantages: sexy fast different simple
Disadvantages: could take a bit of getting used to
..., did I mention how sexy it looks!! the battery lasts for around five hours and takes around 2hrs to charge. The one thing that takes a little getting used to is the minimise close & expand are on the opposite side.
So if your thinking of buying a laptop have a good look at an apple I'm glad I did!!...

Apple iMac Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz - 20" TFT
Review of Apple iMac Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz - 20" TFT by
owais997
Advantages: speed, sound, generous size monitor, Leopard OS
Disadvantages: Power/Sleep light missing
...Duration of ownership:2 Weeks
Strengths: Sleek and beautiful design, simple and elegant operating system, wireless keyboard and mouse
Weaknesses: Power/Sleep light missing
Overall Evaluation:I have used Macs (5th one) since mid-90s and have always appreciated their design and OS strengths. Overall, this is an great computer. Everything worked perfectly right out of the box without checking the manual. Considering what is included on this iMac, it is an impressive array of features. About the only peripheral you need to add is a printer! You sure get a lot of features for the money.Price is always a concern, especially compared to PCs. With this model, they have added more "bells and whistles" and not raising the price.Apple has finally gotten its act together by redesigning the popular iMac....
