Wish I could get this tablet on prescription
Review of Scottish Tablet - Thistle Confectionary by
borntoloaf
Advantages: The finest sweetie just like your mammie made
Disadvantages: Couldnae get it in England, Belize, Cyprus
...Och thon tablets make me either constipated or rot my gut. I am talking about the ones the doctor prescribes me for my knee pain. However, when it comes to Scottish tablet, there is no pain, only pleasure. Although I have heard that there is a fine line between pain and pleasure but best we don’t go there on this family website! (Not that I go there on any other website before you all start leaving me rude messages in the guestbook!).
MITHER GOINAE GO AN GET ME SOME TABLET
Now I’ve been an exiled Scot living in various countries serving Queen and Country and then living in England to be near Mrs B’s family (oh why did we do that!). What I’ve really missed has been The Sunday Post and Scottish Tablet, both of which my mither sent me. Och she’s a grand lass.

Review of Thorntons Butter Tablet by
Louise90
Advantages: Lovely taste. Melts in your mouth.
Disadvantages: Not ideal if you're dieting. They don't last long. The price
...Shopping in Thorntons chocolate shop is something I very rarely do. In fact, I can't remember the last time I went in there. Thorntons always reminds me of my Nanny as she loved that place!
Anyway, I have now taken a liking to one particular kind of chocolate. (There are many more, but shall stick to this one). And that's Thornton Butter Tablet. The first review was written by TRAMPUS, whom I shall blame outright for getting me to try these in the first place! You see, she made them sound so mouth-wateringly delicious, I just had to try them.
So whilst in town this morning, I popped into the dreaded store and said to the woman behind the counter "I want to try these chocolate things, but can't remember the exact name of them. But do know they have the word 'butter' in them." She replied, "Maybe you mean Butter Tablet." I...

Great for pregnancys and anemia
Review of Guinness Original Stout by
mazzybaby35
Advantages: Purely Medicinal
Disadvantages: accuired taste
...I was first told about Guinness as a child by my father because I used to be anemic and my parents could never get me to take tablets, so at a young age of about 7 I was given a glass with meal times. Later on in life during my pregnancies my anemia came back so the doctor gave me the usual folic acid and iron tablets, only thing was the iron tablets made my morning sickness worse, so I tried the Guinness again and although it never really tasted that great on its own some one told me to mix it with black currant and that helped it to go down easier. Now as I approach erm .. .as my kids call it . . . middle age my anemia has come back ( anemia is when you produce more white blood cells than red, this then leaves you prone to all the flues, cold and coughs that go round. And you never have colour your face always, looks like a white...

Minty, mentholy and marvellous - mountain breeze
Review of Wrigleys Extra Mountain Frost Sugar Free gum by
hinkypink
Advantages: Long lasting flavour
Disadvantages: Only 10 pieces in a packet!
...Wrigley's Extra range are the sugar free tablets, which personally, I find the best. Tablets seem to have a better flavour than sticks as they have that hard, crunchy shell rather than being limp and soggy with little flavour.
If you like flavour, this one is for you! The strongest of the Extra range, some may find it a bit extreme, especially as it doesn't wear off. During my taste tests (i.e. stuffing my mouth with sweets and stuff!) I have found that Extra tablets have a flavour which lasts strongly for about 2.5 hours, whereas a rival brand's sticks have a flavour that lasts for just 45 minutes.
This particular flavour is found in a dark green (not turquoise) metallic pack and contains 10 tablets. The packaging is standard really - although I do find these Extra packets hard to get into sometimes - they end up splitting...

Extra Time
Review of Wrigley's Extra by
bluefrog199
Advantages: tasty
Disadvantages: loses that tastiness
..., resulting in painful and permanently disfiguring injury. But, my friends, it will all be worth it in the end. Step this way.
The mints I am here reviewing are the sort that come in little tablets. Back in the day, you only used to be able to get gum in stick-format, neatly arranged in the packet like the dehydrated tongues of some small, albino reptile. To be honest, I preferred them that way. But times change, and you can't cling to the past like a child to its mother's apron strings. Nowadays, most mints seem to come in a tablet form, and I suppose that's the kind of thing we'll all have to get used to. Not that it makes a huge difference, but I find they are a little trickier to get out of the packet. And when stick-gum does finally meet its demise, it will also sound the death knell for those amusing mouse-trap tricks that snap down...

KISS GOODBYE TO ASHTRAY BREATH.......
Review of Wrigleys Extra Ice by
Badger_Boy
Advantages: Cheap at 35p per pack, has a lovely mint taste, leaves my mouth refreshed, smells gorgeous
Disadvantages: None
...As a filthy smoker and something of a regular drinker you can imagine that my breath at some times of the day is not as fresh smelling as it could be and to be completely honest, at times it downright stinks. With only limited breaks to go outside and smoke normally I use Wrigley’s Extra chewing gum to freshen up my breath and keep my mind occupied.
Chewing gum helps me take my mind off cravings and is also good exercise for the muscles in the jaw so when given a reason to try another brand whilst staying loyal to Wrigley’s I couldn’t resist the temptation to give Wrigley’s Extra Ice a try, after all I needed chewing gum and the fact that a pack was the same price as my usual chewing gum at 35p for 10 of the little tablets meant that I wouldn’t be getting anything less for my money.
Identifying the brand and make is easy...

I am still waiting for my wings
Review of Red Bull Can Energy Drink by
funkyfiend
Advantages: major caffeine boost - great for when you're on the verge of collapse
Disadvantages: not good if you have to avoid caffeine in your diet, over-priced
...My earliest memory of drinking Red Bull is when i was 13 and out with my friends in town. We were bored, young and excitable and we wanted to give this Red Bull thing a go (a fairly grown up thing we thought, as none us really liked coffee and we wanted this caffeine-drug thing). So we each bought a can and some Lucozade tablets, then out on the street we emptied half the packet of lucozade tablets into our cans of Red Bull and drank them. My god. We ran through the streets and through the shops like small crazed animals, buzzing off the amount of caffeine and sugar that we had just ingested.
Ah the good old days.
Nowadays i prefer to have a pick-me-up of vodka and Red Bull when im out in town and thats fine thanks. Even though in most bars/clubs a single shot of vodka and Red Bull will cost you at least £3.50, so when a guy next asks...

Drink yourself fit!
Review of Clipper Pure Green Tea by
Squinkle
Advantages: keeps you healthy!
Disadvantages: you cant add milk
...and 100% biodegradable.
For some reason when you say green, people immediately think expensive, this is not the case as Clipper is about the same price as other green teas on the market, and in some case less. It's in the average price band, which is good, seeing as your not just helping yourself get healthy, your helping the planet.
I have to say that for me, Green Tea works, and works well! I suffer from hayfever normally from March until September (lucky me!) . Then last year around January, I read in a book that Green Tea can help with allergies and decided to give it a go. When March rolled around, no sneezes, this lasted about two months, but when my hayfever did return, I carried on drinking the tea as well as taking the tablets. I kept drinking the green tea in the morning instead of my regular cup of tea and this year I only...

█ EXTRA ICE - WHAT'S THE BIG DEAL!? █
Review of Wrigleys Extra Ice by
Tha-Flash
Advantages: Freshens breath - Lasts longer than other chewing gums - Vegetarian Friendly
Disadvantages: Take a look at the floor when you're in town.
...Wrigley’s Extra Ice
As you reach the counter of your local newsagents; it’s only natural to notice what’s in front of you. I always find myself naturally picking up chewing gum because you never know when you’re gonna need it. Let’s be honest here, it’s cheaper and healthier than a clunky Marsbar. Wrigley’s Extra Ice, little white refreshing tablets packed securely in an attractive shiny packet. What’s great about chewing gum is that it makes you feel that bit better and refreshed. As you probably know, kissing someone with bad breath is such a major turn off, Extra ICE fixes that. Just dip into your pocket and refresh your breath in seconds. Extra ICE is also vegetarian friendly.
You may think Extra ICE is obviously going to be my favourite because it’s Ciao’s product of the week. Not really, because I did try these a while ago...

Whoosh with Foosh!
Review of Foosh Power Mints by
death2mullets
Advantages: Great minty taste at first, cheap compared to red bull
Disadvantages: Don't feel the same buzz, slightly odd after-taste
...is the "Hippo Crunch". This method just involves ramming the mint between your teeth until the pieces are small enough to be washed away down the throat. I'm sure you'll agree that this method is rather a waste of a good mint.
Once the mint has gone, there's a slightly bizarre after-taste. It's almost a chalky after-taste...it reminds me of the Rennie's tablets that I used to steal from my Granddad when I went to stay with him 15 years ago. It's not a great aftertaste and I found myself wanting to get a drink or have another mint to mask it. The aftertaste is definately the first disappointment I experienced with the mints, but it's also one of the biggest problems, as no-one wants to eat a mint that is going to taste great for five minutes and then make them feel like they've been licking a blackboard.
Packaging
The mints come...
