The film was in many respects a remake of a remake, a retelling of a famous story yet in many other ways it was so different from any other versions of the story that had ever been seen before. The story of the mutiny on the Bounty is an age-old story about the ship and her ill-fated voyage to transport breadfruit back to Britain.
