The Matrix review
Advantages: Every single second
Disadvantages: None
...The Matrix stars Keanu Reeves as Neo, a normal 9 to 5 worker who secretly does computer hacking on the side. One night, a mysterious woman named Trinity seeks him out and introduces him to Morpheus, considered a terrorist by the government. Morpheus shows Neo a world he couldn't possible imagine, and learns that he may the key to saving it.
If you went back to 1999 and asked people the film they most want to see that year, hardly anyone would've said this film. This, of course, was the year of the first Star Wars prequel and the hype machine was in overdrive, and so The Matrix got relatively overlooked. But it's so much better than the phantom menace it's hard to see what everyone was so excited about back then.
This film came out at the perfect time. The internet was booming, mobile phones were no longer only tools for the wealthy...

The Matrix has you
Advantages: An action packed movie with brilliant special effects
Disadvantages: None I thought it was ace
...This is the first DVD opinion I have written. I hope I have covered all the relevant issues.
The matrix is a brilliantly made film, with great acting and directing. A lot of time and effort went into making this film, and I really do think it has paid off.
The story line is mind blowing, to say the least. The world is real, right? WRONG!
The world you live in is a dream world. Nothing is real. The life that you have been living hasn't happened. Your brain is a computer, that has been programmed, to believe everything around you is normal and real. All your memories never happened. You are not the person you thought you were.
With me so far? You meet someone, who gives you two choices, stay as you are or discover the truth. What would you do? A fascinating story unfolds as Neo (Keanu Reeves) learns the astonishing truth...

The matrix recycled
Advantages: Good entertainment
Disadvantages: tooo much hype
...the trailer but I thought they were a let down, all the best shots with them in were in the trailer and even though they had about 3 lines they acted them purely.
Persephone: [Monica Bellucci] Nice to look at, but as a jealous, bitter incidental added no more than a diversion to the plot
Still a recommendation?
I still enjoyed this film and though I take it apart and analyse it that is all that matters really. It is not the classic Matrix was, it couldn?t be, all the parts are already there, but it does set you up for the next movie, and I?m looking forward to that. Sometimes it?s the flaws that make things more interesting, memorable.
I digress
Morpheus ?Do you ?think? that we are still in the ?Matrix? now??
Neo,?No, this is an op on Ciao, and this is a sequel anyway? you?re far too serious?...

The matrix
Advantages: great acting, great soundtrack
Disadvantages: 3 is two to many
...I have to admit The Matrix is not really my kind of film, this was a present I bought for my hubby last year and he loves it.
I paid £29.99 from play.com and it was worth every penny. You can get it much cheaper on ebay now but hey it's a year on.
I'm not a big sci fi fan but I don't mind The Matrix, I like the sound track, I like Laurence Fishburne, and I like agent Smith, but for me the story is a little far fetched. Any way, enough of my likes and dislikes on with the review.
The acting is brilliant in these films, all the characters are strong and the actors play them perfectly. Keanu shaved his head, vomited and had sex scenes. Fishburne, is shot at, beaten up, happy, sad and dumfounded. Everything is done perfectly.
This is the 3 DVD Matrix box set. This means you get The Matrix, The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix...

Matrix
Advantages:
Disadvantages:
...This movies in my opinion is by far the best film of 1999. I think now I have watched it about 7 times and I still see things I didnt see before. The story was just fantastic which showed great imagination. The Acting was also superb, It was a true pleasure to watch. And the Action ... it just didnt stop, it really had me on the edge of my seat. The thing that really made this movie was the excellent special effects, some of the best I have seen. I really hope there will be a Matrix 2, and I never say that about films, normally I dont even watch them....

The Matrix
Advantages: Original storyline and awesome special effects
Disadvantages: None
...the government lobby; this scene took a week and a half to film. It is action packed with Neo and Trinity (Carrie-Ann Moss) shooting everything in site. Apparently the set took 2 hours to rebuild after each take.
The Wachowski brothers wanted the fight scenes to look so good they modelled them on real kung fu movies. Each actor had their own individual kung fu master on set, the actors thought that combat training would only last for a couple of weeks, training lasted 5 months, from October 1997 until March 1998.
The Matrix has you gripped from the first minute and the action does not let up. It bombards your senses with amazing sights and sounds, original effects in an original storyline, it doesn’t get much better than this....

MATRIX

Disadvantages: -------

Still half-asleep Neo is then woken by a knock at the door. It’s some of his friends wanting to buy a disc. (Neo is an office worker by day and a computer hacker by night. They ask him to join them for a drink down at a club. Neo is just about to refuse when he notices a white rabbit tattooed on a girl’s shoulder. So he decides to go along. When he gets there he finds Trinity (Carry-Anne Moss) waiting for him. She says “I know what you’re looking for, I know why you spend hours at your computer and I know why you live alone. You’re looking for him”.

Behind Enemy Lines
Advantages: Entertaining the whole way through
Disadvantages: Slightly on the budget side
...structured, it flickers between two different scenes, one of the terrain and one of the ship. The ship scenes are the informative and talking scenes and the terrain scenes are crammed full of action. The film balances out so that it doesn?t drag on or get boring but the story line can still get quite deep and complicated.
Owen Wilson also impressed me in Behind Enemy Lines, I could not imagine him completing a film which is not a comedy but he does it beautifully with this film. His character is well written which probably helps him a lot and the action and seriousness of each scene keeps him sensible.
However the thing with Owen Wilson is no matter how serious the scene or the role he unfortunately has a comedy face and therefore I did not find him fitting into the role cosmetically. I kept expecting him to come out with a one liner or say...

The Matrix Revolutions review
Advantages: Jaw dropping visuals
Disadvantages: Can be rather boring
...The Matrix Revolutions is the final part in The Matrix saga. In it, Zion is preparing for the oncoming onslaught of the machines in which they stand no chance of survival. Meanwhile, Neo is held captive by the Merovingian at a train station so Trinity & Morpheus set out on a journey to rescue him so he can save everyone.
This one suffers from the same thing Reloaded did. It's too pretentious and some of the philosophical aspects feel forced. The actions scenes aren't as good either, so there's less to keep you entertained as some scenes can drag on a bit.
I was probably more psyched for this one than Reloaded because of one thing: The war with the machines. I remember being stunned when I saw it first, it looked absolutely incredible. hundreds of thousands of sentinels moving so effortlessly, almost as one giant mechanical creature...

The Matrix Reloaded review
Advantages: Amazing fight scenes
Disadvantages: Clunky script
...The Matrix Reloaded is the follow up to the huge smash hit The Matrix. Again the plot centres around Neo (Keanu Reeves) Morpheus, Trinity, and the rest of the crew as they continue to battle the machines that have enslaved the human race. That's not all though, they learn that 250,000 sentinels are digging towards them in order to wipe out the humans who dared to rebel against them.
I think it's fair to say I was more excited about this film that any film before or since. And when I left the cinema after seeing it for the first film, I was a little confused. I knew it wasn't a bad movie, but it wasn't up to the standards of the first one either. For me the script is too bloated and pretentious, and the philosophical aspects seemed a bit forced in places. And I defy anyone to understand what The Architect said first time around...
