Compaq 4GB of Really good ram
Review of Compaq DRAM 4 GB by
Tortenmann
Advantages: four gigabyts of ram! very fast, cheap, only slots into one slot
Disadvantages: not many, wont work with older operating systems
..., and started looking for the slots for the DRAM, they were locate din the most hard to find place possible, with all the wires crowding it, I had a hard job trying to install it.
Because I already had 512MB of RAM installed already, I could have a total of 4.5GB of RAM, more than some people can boast of. Now I can shut them up! This RAM, unlike others, only takes up one slot, some RAM made by manufacturers take up to four slots which is kind of useless, seeing as most computers currently have only tow slots for the RAM.
After I installed the RAM, I restarted the computer, and to my surprise, total surprise, windows 2K had recognised it and it ram surprisingly fast, with minimal programs running that is. I was happy with what I had brought, now I have fewer crashes, and the new RAM saves me time because I can multi-task easier now.
I think...

512 Megabytes of RAM - as smooth as it gets.
Review of Kingston ValueRAM DRAM 512 MB PC1600 by
Pisces1977
Advantages: Good price, neat design, reliable, excellent capacity and great performance
Disadvantages: None
...-notch, nearly on the centre of the module and those 8 chips shown on picture are both-sided, adding a total of 16 chips. Works perfect on Intel Pentium 4, AMD and other types of computer systems where requirements are met, this Memory gives you great performance increase, good reliability and comes with a lifetime-warranty.
I have two of these already installed in my computer, totalling a good 1024 MB (MegaByte) capacity, enough for users who like to work on Graphic design programs such as PaintShop Pro 9, Corel Draw 12, or even using Microsoft Office programs. Works great on games too, there is a lot of noticeable difference on gaming with 1024 MB DDRs which I have right now since my previous review regarding testing with two 256 MB PC3200 modules - totalling 512 MB, the test was fine, but there was a blink of pause from two 256 MB DDRs (512 MB...

PC2700 256mb RAM
Review of OCZ Basic DRAM 512 MB PC3200 by
roy.jennings1
Advantages: None
Disadvantages: Loads of problems
...I came across OCZ RAM products after purchasing a new PC from a UK web based company called PC-DEPOT.CO.UK.
During the initial set-up of the PC, and installing of software, the PC often rejected the installation throwing up VxD errors and System crashes.
Eventually the PC became a working unit.
After just a few days I was forever getting system crashes and freezes. So I contacted the suppliers, who in turn sent a small program by email to test the fitted RAM.
This program proved that the OCZ (elixir) RAM PC2700 256mb was in fact the fault.
They agreed that if I removed it myself and sent it back they would replace it (foc). Before I could do this the PC crashed beyond recovery.
SO I purchased replacement RAM from a local supplier of a totally different make.
Having had to format the HARD DRIVE, and start from scratch loading...

I need more memory to think of a title.
Review of Nintendo Expansion Pak DRAM 4 MB by
benraiben
Advantages: Boosts N64 graphics to
Disadvantages: Only a few of the later games require it.
...The Nintendo Expansion Pak memory is simply a 4 Megabyte Random Access Memory Ram (RAM) for your N64 gaming console.
Now, this extra memory increase the resolution (which is sometimes optional on N64 that do not require the Expansion Pak to function at all) creating more lush, crispier graphics as well as boosting artificial intelligence. Which is useful because a lot of the later games that were produced for N64 utilized this. The point being that the Expansion Pak mainly is too improve the games appearance.
With the Expansion Paks in place, games with vast large worlds, 'cinema sequences' and so on could be made, without the slow down which console games can sometimes suffer from.
A majority of the later N64 games (close to the 'retirement' of the N64) needed the expansion pak to work at all, but seeing as very few...

Get it and get Perfect Dark.
Review of Nintendo Expansion Pak DRAM 4 MB by
Notorious-Biggles
Advantages: Needed for a few games
Disadvantages: Other than those few games it is needed for, it doesn't do anything.
...Not much to say about this really. What it is really is an extra 4 MB of memory for the N64. This is needed for several games, most notably Donkey Kong 64 and Perfect Dark.
Most of the later N64 games needed this, but seeing as few of the later games for the N64 were big hits it meant that not many people really actually bought an Expansion Pak.
If you have a game that needs an expansion pak, then get it. On some games it just gave them better graphics. But be aware that if the game doesn't say it uses the expansion pak then it simply doesn't do anything, making it a waste of money.
The other thing besides games that it is needed for is using the code generator feature of Action Replay cartidges. They need the extra memory for finding codes....

GeIL 400 MHz / PC3200 512mb memory
Review of GeIL Value DRAM 512 MB PC3200 by
KnowledgeBase
Advantages: Reliable, efficient
Disadvantages: None found yet
...I recently completed my first self build computer project. After having bought a pre-build last time I decided to do it myself this time as I have been inside my old one enough times to know what goes on.
My last computer used unbranded memory, and I feel this caused compatability issues with components I installed. I decided to opt for GEIL memory this time, and have installed two 512mb sticks giving me 1024mb of random access mem. Im running the mem with an AMD 64bit 3000 939Winchester processor and an ABIt AV8 mobo and have had no compatability issues.
The hardware analysis software SISoft Sandra 2005 informs me that its currently running 1gb memory, which is acceptable. Ive run prime95 on it for 24hours including tests such as 2500 lucas Lehmer iterations and the mem is stable. It remains stable when moderatly overclocking...

Voodoo 4-4500 agp 32mb.....
Review of 3Dfx Voodoo4 4500 by
wakey_uk_22
Advantages: Good Game Playing - Realistic.....
Disadvantages: Won't work with some revisions of pc-chips mainboards.
...as soon as you reboot after installing the drivers i have tried alot of different drivers all with the same result. this isnt just a voodoo 4 problem i believe the voodoo 3 is has the same problem aswell. I sent an e-mail to the pc-ships support team and they replied with we have tested our mainboards only with nvidia products which is fair enough as they own about 90% of the market now.
Anyway besides that i think this is a great card and if you are buying one of these it's a good choice but just bear in mind the pc-chips issue.
Technical Specifications:
Single 3dfx VSA-100 SLI
32MB memory
4 pixels per clock rendered

Real-time full-scene anti-aliasing
T-Buffer digital cinematic effects
128-bit 2D/3D/video
350MHz RAMDAC
Both AGP and PCI
OpenGL and Glide
Hope this helps anyone wanting to buy...

Kingston
Review of Kingston ValueRAM DRAM 512 MB PC1600 by
coopsta133
Advantages: good price and value. Good brand
Disadvantages: Not the fastest around.
...Here you have the Kingston ValueRAM DRAM 512 MB PC2100 (266mhz). Kingston has always been known to by many to be very good, reliable RAM being delivered to you at low costs which is excellent. I have used Kingston many times and never experienced any problems what-so-ever. You can purchase this stick for around 35£ from a place such as ebuyer. It just shows that it is kind of outdated as it has dropped from the 65£ or so it was when it was originally developed!
This stick of RAM I would not recommend if you are a gamer as Kingston offers a bit more than 266MHZ (the speed it is rated for) in some of its newer sticks. I do say that this is good for a computer that is used for simple day to day tasks such as word processing. It is great for use in the office. That is where I have mine installed.
Installation is a breeze: Just follow...

Corsair DDR2 6400C4 800mhz 2GB (2x1GB pair)
Review of Corsair XMS2 DRAM 2 GB PC2-5400 by
ClockworkUniverse42
Advantages: Excellent speeds, reliable, very cheap, decent overclocking potential
Disadvantages: Slightly poor quality of heatsink
...Unfortunately the link to the Corsair XMS2 DRAM 2GB PC2-6400 C4 only goes to this page. So here's where I'll write my review!
I'm going to just go ahead and state it right at the beginning - this is some excellent memory. It's fast (800mhz), it has lower timings (4-4-4-12), it's reliable, and it's very cheap. You can pick the 2GB set of two modules up from £35 anywhere now, which is a phenomenally low price. That's really the hallmark of this product - low price, high quality.
At the moment, unless you're running games in Windows Vista, there's really no need to have 4GB of memory; even the most demanding game you can run won't use more than 2GB RAM. That's why I recommend this 2GB set to everyone I help construct computers. Not only it is fast, and so brilliant for games of all sorts, it's also cheap, so it's great for those with more...

Asus EEE 4G Surf - 900Mhz/512Mb/7" TFT (July 08)
Review of ASUS Eee PC 4G - Celeron M 353 630 MHz - 7" TFT by
cport80
Advantages: Fast boot time, Good connectivity
Disadvantages: Small keyboard, horizontal scrolling, poor webcam
...for a standard monitor, a SD/MMC card slot, network (RJ45 cable), phone, headphones and microphone sockets. The internal drive on this one is a solid-state 4GB hard
disk which doesn't sound like much but use a 4GB/8GB flash memory stick in one of those USB sockets and you should have more than enough storage for most people. The whole case is about A5 in size and about an inch and a quarter thick so this really is compact.
By far the most impressive aspect of this machine is its startup time. Approximately 20-25 seconds from a cold start. It is by far the fastest booting computer I've seen this year. The machine comes pre-installed with Xandros linux which is an obscure choice in my oppinion but it works well and although I originally planned to put Puppy linux on this machine I just haven't felt the need to yet. The manual also explains...
