Thomas The Tank Engine and Friends

Advantages: Great stories, good engines, educational experience
Disadvantages: The new stories aren't as good

...I am now 17 years old, but I do still love watching the odd Thomas The Tank Engine story very ocassionly. I grew up watching it and I had, and still do have, most of the videos and story books. I was pleased to discover that the programmes and concept is still going strong. They are continuing to make new stories and introduce more characters, both of which have some positive and negative costs. I will write everything that I know about Thomas The Tank Engine and try and gives those of you who haven't seen it before, a good idea of what it all involves. Tanks Rev

Advantages: Kids just love him
Disadvantages: Wacky prices

...and his friends toys.... We personally have so many Thomas toys that I couldnt give you discriptions without needing a week to do it. Suffice to say that my boys spend hours playing with their Brio trains which we add too as often as possible, seeing as brio is on the more expensive side. But ebay does offer an alternative to paying out so much money, but in my experience have found that everyone wants Thomas so the bids exceed drastically, the original price. This christmas my boys will not be let down. I have for them the usual colouring books and pens and my mother has told me that she has sent over a remote control Thomas. There is a limitless range out there, all guarenteed to keep the little uns occupied for many hours. On closing, I want to again say Tanks Rev....you have made millions happy through taking a great passion...

A whole Tank of fun

Advantages: entertains the children, only 5 minutes per episode
Disadvantages: too much merchandise to be conned into

He ?lives? on the Island of Sodor, which my sources inform me is near/like the Isle of Man. Thomas has many friends, in the original books, he had just 5 friends ? James, Henry, Gordon, Edward (all Tender engines) and Percy (who was the only other Tank engine). Shortly after other characters started to appear; such as Duck, Bertie (the bus), Harold (the helicopter) and Terence (the tractor). Advantages: Every tank that ever existed

Flood The Tanks

Advantages: A beautifully crafted album of songs
Disadvantages: None

Well Flood The Tanks is his third album, released in 2003, it wasn't an instant success but then there is no real marketing machine behind him (good or bad? I have yet to decide), it is gradually working its way into people's record collections by his constant touring and hard work. I wanna be a Tank Girl

Advantages: The Tank- it's AWESOME!!!!
Disadvantages: Not much in the way of a plot, but what do we care? We have TANKS *8)

...Brilliant stuff. It's a very quirky film, but not the sort of film for macho insecure louts. They'll detest it. Happy guys and mischievous girlies will love it though. Background: Tank Girl is a character from a strip in 'Deadline' comics. A tough bitch basically, toned down a lot for this film, but made more fun by Lori Petty and her voice. It's set in the future where the Earth has been hit by a meteor, and it hasn't rained for years. Thus whoever controls the water controls the power. In Australia, where this is set, that's the 'Department of Water and Power'. The comics were basically about Tank Girl and her friends bumming around and keeping themselves in beer. For the film version, a plot has been artificially grafted on - pretty badly. Summary: The film is enjoyable, but leaves a lot to be desired...

Float Tanks - Stress Relief Beyond Total Belief

Advantages: Fantastically relaxing and uplifting experience
Disadvantages: wish I could afford a tank for my home ;o)

...I'd seen the horror of the movie Altered States way back when, plus Homer and Lisa taking their own journey by way of the float tanks at Karmaceuticals, Springfield USA and I even saw an episode of Ab Fab featuring Edwina and her own float tank. So I guess you could say it's something that?s always intrigued me. Six months ago I was lucky enough to receive a course of 3 floatation tank sessions at the Floatworks Floatation Tank Centre in London. http://www.floatworks.com My first session was truly breathtaking, leaving me completely blown away, chilled and uplifted.
