Review of Tannoy Mercury F1

Tannoy Mercury m3 floorstanders

Advantages: Deep bass, weighty sound. Relatively cheap.
Disadvantages: Actually discontinued (seek out newer mx3s), treble and detail can sound a little less exciting compared to other speakers.

...Although these speakers have now been replaced by the newer mx3s (which are similar, but have been tweaked a little over these m3s), they are the speakers I currently own, so I thought I'd review them (since no-one else has and there's not even a Tannoy category! (shame on you, Ciao!)). I bought these speakers just over a year ago, to go with an Arcam Alpha One amp. I listened to some other speakers as well, such as the Q35s from KEF (I think) and the Mission 733e, and also Acoustic Energy AE120SEs, but since the latter are normally £600, we'll leave them out of the discussion. The m3s are nice enough looking floorstanders, with isolation spikes and bass reflex ports. They are a two way design (1 tweeter and 1 mid/bass driver) with single inputs (i.e. not bi-wireable). Advantages: Awesome gameplay - superb graphics - realistic sound effects - wide range of game options

...As a kid I loved playing F1 on my Playstation - it was a game that would have me sitting up into the wee small hours - had great graphics and gameplay that outstripped anything I had ever played before and when I stumbled across F1 2002 on Ebay for £12.99 I immediately decided to bring back those happy memories and I wasn't disappointed in the slightest by my purchase - it may be old - but this game has a timeless quality thanks to the graphics - sound effects and ultimately gameplay. Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3s

Advantages: Lots of grip, good in all conditions including wet and dry
Disadvantages: Slightly pricey, Can pull car around a bit on rough road

...I purchased some Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3 for my Citroen Saxo VTS around about November time last year after being recommend them on various car discussion forums, by people who use their cars for both road and track driving, I had never tried the Goodyear brand before this so thought I would see what they were like on my Citroen Saxo VTS it wasn't really needing new tyres at the time but I wanted a high performance brand tyre to suit my driving needs. I never though of Goodyear as on of the leading brands but now I have tried these I feel they are on their way up in the world of tyres and I will now be a returning customer of theirs for all of the cars I own. 4 months on I could not be any happier with Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3 tyres and will definitely be using this brand or another Goodyear manufactured performance tyre if this product...

...This magazine does exactly what it says on the tin. It is by far in my opinion the best magazine for all you need to know about Formula one. I do wish that maybe it would be fortnightly as sometimes it does feel like there has been so much going on between issues. Each magazine has all the latest news and gossip, there is plenty of technical information, all new upgrades to the cars are explained and photographed allowing the readers to understand ups or slumps in performance a little better. F1 Racing does some great interviews not only with the Drivers but also with Key staff from within formula one and these really give a great insight into the world of F1 where most questions are asked and answered.
