...A turtle called Tara... it's all very random really but my daughter loves her! I can never help myself when I'm browsing toy stores, I always come away with yet another toy for my daughter. She is only 6 months old yet she seems to have more toys than children twice/three times her age! The latest toy is Tara. Tara is a turtle and she's aimed at teething babies but she is way more than just a teether toy! Tara is brightly coloured, and when I say that I mean it! She has a bright green face and her shell is patches of different colours and textures. Bright purple, orange, red, silk, velour and cord. She has big white stitched eyes so very baby friendly as they're not able to be pulled off and a big wide smile so very appealing to babies. As well as the different textures and the colours of her shell there are little patterns...

...I wish I could be writing another great holiday review here, but sadly my holiday at Haven's Craig Tara holiday park was a big let down. Craig Tara is located in Ayr, Scotland, on the old Butlin's site. Until my holiday at Craig Tara, I had never stayed at a Haven holiday park before, as I had a great holiday at a Hoseasons holiday park back in 1990 and have booked with them many times since. However, I had often wondered what the '£9.50' holidays are like - you know the ones I mean - which are advertised in the national papers a couple of times a year, where you collect the vouchers. I finally got round to collecting the vouchers for myself and my partner and set about deciding where to go. You have to choose 3 options and we decided on Craig Tara as our first choice. Mainly because we love to visit Scotland and have never been to Ayr...

Copthorne Tara - The Customer

Advantages: Good location, access to tube station, nice/well looked after hotel
Disadvantages: Some of the staff/service is not up to scratch

...Getting There: -------------------- The Copthorne Tara Hotel is conveniently situated a short walk (about 5 minutes) from the Kensington High Street Tube station. This means that getting to and from the hotel is quick and convenient. The Kensington High Street Tube Station is part of both the District and Circle Lines, meaning that you can get to many major and convenient locations by jumping on the tube there (including Kings Cross and Victoria stations). Although this was probably bad luck, I do urge you to check that while staying at the Copthorne Tara, the district and circle lines are running as unfortunately during my stay they were under maintenance for 2 of the days. In this case the nearest station was Notting Hill, which was around a 30 minute walk away (not good when wearing high heals to go to the theatre). In terms...

...We went to Craig Tara holiday park in Ayr this year for our summer holidays ( July 2007), I went as I thought it would be a fun holiday for my kids, at that stage they were aged 8 years, 6 years and 5 years. Looking for a family holiday It was October 2006 and we were looking up different holidays on the internet as we wanted to book well in advance we came across Craig tara, I must say by the look of their website it was brilliant. The chalets looked amazing and there seemed to be loads to do and the prices didnt look bad either. Booking We decided to book a week, half board in a silver chalet, we rang Havens them selves and asked for more details, they told us the price, which was £526, the check in time (2pm) The price included funworks passes for us all, so we booked there and then and paid through debit card. ...I have just returned from Craig Tara today, 27/06/07 after 2 days of a 4 day break,i thought it best i get down my experiances whilst they are still fresh in the mind.I'll start at the beginning,as my Maths teacher always told me 'its a good place to start!'. I booked a 4 day 'Midweek Break' back in February over the Internet for my family,my wife and two children aged 2 and 3.The website is modern,with impressive photos of the rooms and entertainment available,lots of information and most of all i got a great deal of £214 Half Board for all of us with a 'Luxury Silver Chalet'.(Down from £400).Perfect for the kids i thought.I booked over the Internet there and then,so we could tell our employers of our intended adventure! ...Having read two of Maeve Binchy’s other books, “Light a Penny Candle” and “The Copper Beech”, that I didn’t really enjoy I wasn’t going to be tempted when I saw “Tara Road” at my local newsagents. But I love reading and I was desperate for a good read and it was the best of a lousy selection, along with one other. (but more about that another time…) So, I “paid my money and took my choice”. After dinner that night my husband hardly saw me for the next two evenings, I couldn’t put that book down, I was engrossed! ...We have been to several other Haven sites and feel that this is by far the best we have been to. We have been to Craig Tara 3 times so far this season and I am just about to book again for the October break. The staff are friendly and helpful and the 'Funstars' actually seem to enjoy what they are doing. They provide fun family entertainment without patronising the children or being sarcastic. (I observed some poor entertainment at another |Haven site where this was the case). The pool was clean and had plenty of space to accomodate a large amount of guests. I have been in peak season too, so it was very busy, but surprisingly easy to access facilities without queing. I have been to the park on both a Self-Catering and Half Board basis and enjoyed both. ...The latest book to head my way is none other than 'RSPV', written by author Tara Moore. Now when I first saw the book I had no idea what it was going to be like. I had never heard of Tara Moore before so her style was going to be completely new to me. However, the cover of the book itself is incredibly attractive. All we see is the neck and lower face of a woman, with a large glittering necklace around her neck. Now for ages I thought this read 'RSUP', and it wasn't until I went to find out more about the author before reading did I realise that this necklace actually read 'RSVP'. ...I have travelled to Craig Tara Holiday Park in Ayr on a yearly basis for the last four years and watched it go down hill faster than an avalanche. I can honestly say the first year I went (2004) I loved it, came home with lots of good things to say about the place but since then I have been a lot less enthusiastic about it. After a poor holiday last year I had to give returning some serious thought but as they have done every year before my fiancées mum and dad went ahead and booked for the following year.
