Targus Ultra Mini 4-Port USB Hub
Review of Targus Ultra Mini Hub - hub - 4 ports by
matt_fantastic
Advantages: Funky glowing lights
Disadvantages: Cheaper "clones" are available
...I bought the Targus Ultra Mini 4-Port USB Hub as I have more USB items than USB sockets on my laptop docking station.
Its compact dimensions (width 9.5 cm, depth 4 cm, height 1.5 cm, weight 40 g)and included USB connection cable allow it to fit anywhere on the desk, and its four USB 2.0 ports (480Mbps data transfer) allow rapid connection to all sorts of peripherals. It's also backward compatible with older USB 1.1 devices, and Apple devices I believe, too.
Installation (with Windows XP SP2) is a doddle, with no drivers aor anything to install, just plug it in, wait a few seconds while Windows does its stuff, and we're off. Connecting USB peripherals previously connected directly prompts Windows to repeat its "Found New Hardware" business, but this takes just a few seconds.
When peripherals are connected, the plastic around...

Targus Mini Optical Retractable Mouse Mouse
Review of Targus Optical Super Mini Retractable Mouse mouse by
matt_fantastic
Advantages: Super small & compact
Disadvantages: Cheaper "clones" are available
...I bought this Targus Mini Optical Retractable Mouse Mouse as I was sick of fiddling about with my laptop's trackpad and/or "nipple" mouse button when trying to demo software at work, and wanted to avoid a) unplugging my mouse from the docking station, and b) filling up my bag any more than necessary...
It's really small (5.0 x 1.6 x 8.3 inches, weight: 3.2 ounces) so takes up almost no space in my bag, and although it's great on a full size table/desk, it's just as easy to use in a small work space or even on a small airplane tray.
The Mini Optical Mouse is "only" USB 1.1, but that allows "plug and play" connection with USB sockets on Windows 98/Me/2000/XP and Macintosh OS, I believe. Just plug it in, wait a moment while Windows does its "Found New Hardware" stuff, and you're off ! No drivers to install or anything...

Targus, What CAN I say.
Review of Targus 75W AC Mains Power Supply - power adapter - 75 Watt by
GerlofL
Advantages: It comes with more cables.
Disadvantages: The part that you can not take out of the charger is the weak part.
...Bought it, was happy with the idea that I could use it in England on any laptop, because I am moving from The Netherlands to England. However, I had it, and the iron pin at the end of the wire you put in your laptop broke, leaving the iron piece in my pc. Thank God I do not give a damn about my teeth, I ripped it out of my laptop, and there I was, a iron pin in my mouth, my laptop wanting power and my Targus Adapter shining at me like it did nothing wrong. The store owner did not give a damn, and said it was my fault. There I was, no guarantee, no power for my laptop, and no response from Targus.
If you never ever move your notebook, maybe this product is advicable, else I would go for something else, it is worth looking for, trust me.
I got blamed, and when I wanted to deny it they already walked away, without the intention...

Targus Chargable Wireless Laser mouse
Review of Targus Laser Wireless Desktop Mouse - mouse by
tartupets
Advantages: Laser precision, max grip and rechargiability
Disadvantages: Batterylife, no on-off switch, syncing to the receiver
...So, i bought the Targus AWM14EU mouse about 2 weeks ago.
My experience has been good, though the "user interface" is a bit off. The sensitivity is good and I like big mice due to the grip. Also, the main buttons work fine and accurate. But, the scrollwheel is a bit loose and so are the browsing buttons under near your thumb.
On the user manual, it states that you should charge the batteries for at least 8 hour for best performance. Do so, because, I charged it for 6 hours and ended up with 2 weeks of battery life. Also, it should have an on-off switch for transportation. And it looses contact to the computer, when you acciadently smash it. But smash it again and it will work , and it lags when you move it. Use at your own desire...

...Aztech CNR2900-W (C1) SEC modem
I bought Packard Bell PC Imedia 3032 last year at PC World (not the best place to buy a PC I'll tell you) and this is the modem that's in my tower. It's an Aztech CNR2900-W.

ADSL Modem
Review of Netgear DM602 ADSL-Modem by
miss_d_bus
Advantages: small, cheap, fast
Disadvantages: gets hot, not as cheap as USB only modems
...So this is the device needed to get the ADSL line working but how well does it work?
Appearance
=
The first thing I noticed about this model is the colour of it. Its silver and this gives it a modern appeal. Its small and rather thin. It is only 2.8cm x 17.5cm x 11.8cm so makes it a compact modem.
It is also light and weights in at 600 grams. When the modem is switched on, it has yello LEDs that light up to show if the power is on, USB, ethernet and if the ADSL line is there.
System Requirements
* ADSL Internet service from BT and your chosen ISP. I use Nildram.
* Ethernet (netowrk) or USB connection on your PC
* Windows 95, 98, Me, NT, 2000, XP, Mac
* Internet Explorer 5.0 or Netscape 4.7 or better - Tthis is so you can access the configuration menu.
Box Contents
* DM602...

Nintendo -No - No - No- Modem Yet!
Review of Nintendo Modem (analogue) by
benraiben
Advantages: Play games over the 'net'/ (Will) add longitivity to games/
Disadvantages: Maximum utilisation not yet possible/ Won't work for anyone with AOL as an internet provider.
...Nintendo has finally reached the 21st century, by coming up with the ability to allow players to play games over networks, as you would do with online games on the PC. Even Xbox and Playsation 2 owners have had the pleasure for a fair while now. Nintendo has been slow, but it is gradually getting there.
It's great to be able to play games with friends as opposed to just alone vs. the computer's artificial intelligence (which sometime can be plane daft, or cheat-like!). However, it isn't always possible to have friends over. So what is the solution?
The somewhat simple solution to this is - the Nintendo 56k modem!
As usual with Nintendo, the packaging and products are all of a high quality.
In the box, you get the following the one Nintendo GameCube Modem Adapter, along with one standard phone wire (which is approximately 12...

An excellent modem
Review of Zoom/FaxModem 56K Dualmode 2957 by
jonwhite
Advantages: reliable, fast
Disadvantages: None
...My ZOOM 56K V90 Dual Modem has been the best modem I have ever had. When I purchased a new machine it came with its own PCI modem, however this soon came out and was replace with my trusty zoom when I started getting cut off from my ISP. I regularly axchieve speeds of up to 52K and with a usual connection at 49,333 bps.
The modem is fitted internally and has been in service now for almost 2 years without any sign of breakdown. Trusty, reliable and fast are the best way I can describe it. With a Flash Circuit I can even upgrade it should the need arise.
A great modem at a very reasonable price.
Customer support is excellent too....

USB modem for all
Review of Turbocomm E500 USB modem by
skul
Advantages: Stable work on any lines, low price, small size, suitable for desktop and notebook PC's
Disadvantages: Need P166MMX CPU or higher
...So, here is new USB modem from Turbocomm based on STMicroelectronics chipset. It's good choice for not only desktop PC's users, but for mobile computers users too. Small size, perfect design, super quality. Work very good and stable on all phone lines (I'm living in Ukraine, where phone lines is terrible!). Due to use of USB modem don't need power adapter and not limited by your COM port speed (you can set max speed up to 460800 bps in MODEMS applet of Windows control panel). Of course, very simple to install (REAL plug&play), just plug it to USB port of your PC's and install driver. Also, bundled with lot of software (Bitware fax/voice/data communication program).
Also, equipped with useful and easy-to-install drivers.
I bought it cause it created special for me :), I can put it in pocket and use with any PC with USB port.
The only...
