Targus Mini Optical Retractable Mouse Mouse
Review of Targus Optical Super Mini Retractable Mouse mouse by
matt_fantastic
Advantages: Super small & compact
Disadvantages: Cheaper "clones" are available
...I bought this Targus Mini Optical Retractable Mouse Mouse as I was sick of fiddling about with my laptop's trackpad and/or "nipple" mouse button when trying to demo software at work, and wanted to avoid a) unplugging my mouse from the docking station, and b) filling up my bag any more than necessary...
It's really small (5.0 x 1.6 x 8.3 inches, weight: 3.2 ounces) so takes up almost no space in my bag, and although it's great on a full size table/desk, it's just as easy to use in a small work space or even on a small airplane tray.
The Mini Optical Mouse is "only" USB 1.1, but that allows "plug and play" connection with USB sockets on Windows 98/Me/2000/XP and Macintosh OS, I believe. Just plug it in, wait a moment while Windows does its "Found New Hardware" stuff, and you're off ! No drivers to install or anything...

Targus Wireless Optical 5 Button Mouse
Review of Targus Wireless Optical 5 Button Mouse mouse by
Tortenmann
Advantages: very good charge time, good software, easy to install
Disadvantages: only one.........wish it had a metal shell
...Unlike other optical wireless Mice that require batteries, this mouse does not, it charges whilst you are not using it. It ahs its own cradle, so it charges via the computers’ USB slot, saving you money on batteries.
I brought this mouse after looking for an optical mouse that actually works, and properly. It was around £29.99; I brought it from Amazon in the end as it was easier to buy from there. Looking at other optical mice made me think, have I made the right decision?
Well, fortunately, I had. I just plugged the mouse straight inot the computers’ USB slot and I worked. There was an extra cd for drivers, needed by older operating systems and hardware; this cd contained also some software for the extra buttons, like the scroller.
The nice looking cradle site by the side of my computer, waiting for me insert the mouse to lay...

The little mouse that is actually streets ahead.
Review of Targus Optical Mini Mouse mouse by
HopSkotch
Advantages: Lightweight, nice size and easy to get used to.
Disadvantages: Scroller button could be more free-moving.
...The Targus mini-mouse is one of those situations where because I wasn't expecting anything great from it (I'd known they make computer bags, but mice !!) was completely suckered in.
For starters, the size is perfect. Excellent for laptops and travelling. Regular size mouse' don't fit so well into computer bags (unless you want a big bulge sticking out the side) but this compact size fits in with no problems at all.
The USB attachment just clips in , no problems in recognizing it and its ready to go - very easy. No problems on flat desks which is where I use mine and being optical you no longer need a mouse mat.
I would call a comparison to a german car, an Audi perhaps. understated, maybe even dull to look at but a great drivers vehicle which performs when it needs to.
One criticism I do have is the scroller button which...

A MOUSE THAT DOESN'T EAT CHEESE.
Review of Targus Wireless Optical 5 Button Mouse mouse by
thingywhatsit
Advantages: Totally responsive.
Disadvantages: Shape takes a bit of getting used to.
....
MY MOUSE HAS NO BALL
Optical mice do not have the traditional cleaning problems of mice that have a removeable ball, and can be used on any surface without the risk of dirt getting into the workings. This for me is a big plus.
MY OVERALL CONCLUSION OF THE PRODUCT
Despite my sceptical start as I opened the package, I am impressed by the range of features, the fact that the manufacturer looked at mouse use from every angle, thought out about the battery problem that many users have, and combined the receiver/charger. The unit is lightweight, feels snug in the hand, is responsive and easy to use and actually encourages you to use the two extra buttons as their accessibility is so simple, and your choice of which function you want these buttons to have can be changed at any time in a simple manner.
10 out of 10 for a well thought...

Targus Chargable Wireless Laser mouse
Review of Targus Laser Wireless Desktop Mouse - mouse by
tartupets
Advantages: Laser precision, max grip and rechargiability
Disadvantages: Batterylife, no on-off switch, syncing to the receiver
...So, i bought the Targus AWM14EU mouse about 2 weeks ago.
My experience has been good, though the "user interface" is a bit off. The sensitivity is good and I like big mice due to the grip. Also, the main buttons work fine and accurate. But, the scrollwheel is a bit loose and so are the browsing buttons under near your thumb.
On the user manual, it states that you should charge the batteries for at least 8 hour for best performance. Do so, because, I charged it for 6 hours and ended up with 2 weeks of battery life. Also, it should have an on-off switch for transportation. And it looses contact to the computer, when you acciadently smash it. But smash it again and it will work , and it lags when you move it. Use at your own desire...

Man not mouse... Microsoft Wireless Optical Mouse
Review of Microsoft Wireless Optical Mouse Blue Moon IMD - mouse by
karenlearmonth
Advantages: Wireless, Optical, Coverage
Disadvantages: none spotted to date
...I thought it was about time I reviewed the item I probably use more often than most - my mouse!
Product Overview:
As the product title implies it is a wireless, optical and Microsoft. Some more details bar the obvious to help you may be the following:
* Scroll Wheel
* Left/Right Handed
* Customisable buttons
* PC/Mac
* USB or PS/2
I think there are a few colours to choose from. I've got blue/silver and I think there is red/silver and white as another option (but don't hold me to that)
To my knowledge 'Special Edition' is merely colour editions because I didn't notice anything on the packaging to tell otherwise (although as is usual with my new purchases they are out of the wrapper rapid and into use before thought is given!)
Responsiveness:
I have found that however you choose to set this product up, so long...

Labtec Wireless Optical Mouse.
Review of Labtec Wireless Optical Mouse Plus - mouse by
smcccc
Advantages: No more wires.
Disadvantages: Eats the batteries.
....
and the optical-tracking technology provides smooth cursor movement on almost all surfaces and eliminates the hassles of mouse pad and cleaning old-fashioned mouse balls.
The only downside to being wireless is that it takes batteries and with this one there is no off switch on the mouse,
so when not using my computer I remove the batteries..... and have noticed by doing this the batteries do last longer, around 3 weeks for me with average usage.
Overall this is a nice and neat looking little mouse and I prefer this much better than my old corded one, although I still have the old one just in case I run out of batteries when I dont have any !
As this was a gift I'm not sure of the price, but have seen it as low as £9.00 online.
SPECIFICATIONS:
Receiver
Batteries
Cordless Mouse
Small PS/2 Receiver and extension cable
Two AA Batteries...

A very good optical wireless mouse.
Review of Labtec Wireless Optical Mouse Pro - mouse by
Bunks
Advantages: No wires, accurate and responsive. Easy to set up.
Disadvantages: Battery usage and very occassionally doesn't respond at start-up. Wire for censor attachment.
...The Labtec wireless optical mouse comes with a mouse, two batteries, an installation CD and the mouse censor.
MOUSE
The mouse itself is nicely shaped to fit the palm of your hand and comes with a left and right click button. The buttons are separated by a roller (useful for scrolling pages when using the internet or for word processing) and a left and right button (which can be used to scroll left or right on bigger pages , mainly Excel). You can also click the roller down which is useful for automatic scrolling of pages.
CENSOR DEVICE
This is 3x2" and comes complete with a wire measuring roughtly a metre in length. Now this is where the wireless bit goes out of the window, as you have to attach this piece of kit to your PC/laptop for the mouse to work. This also has to be within a range of two feet from the mouse...

Genius Wireless USB Keyboard and Optical Mouse
Review of Genius Wireless TwinTouch+ Optical Value - keyboard , mouse by
alienateduk
Advantages: Wireless, Relativly cheap, Durable, Initially get rechargeable batteries
Disadvantages: Need to eventually buy new batteries, Problems with low power.
...essential in all modern mice. It has an optical laser so can be used on any surface.
Both the keyboard and the mouse are wireless and their signal is picked up by a smart receiver come battery charger. The feature of being wireless is great for people who use spaces for multiple purposes such as a written work/study area as well as for using a PC. It plugs into a standard USB A slot. The box comes with 6 rechargeable AA batteries, user manual and a driver CD.
The rechargeable batteries are a great addition to the pack however I found after a few months of use they did not hold the charge as well and did not last. This means eventually you will be using regular batteries which is obviously more expensive than using wired keyboard and mouse equivalents.
When the battery power in either the mouse or keyboard gets low it can lead...

a good sized mouse for portable computing
Review of Labtec Mini Wireless Optical Mouse - mouse by
ThePuss
Advantages: easily portable, reciever storage inside base, good compatibility
Disadvantages: bulky, while portable, a bit pricey
...I have two Sony Vaio laptops, one with a track pad and one with a track point. I don't personally like track points, and never have, so I've been looking around for a decent mouse for carrying about for some time. I have an Elecom sub-mini mouse that I bought about 4 years ago in Japan but it has needed a good surface to work on.
When I saw someone using this mouse I was intrigued... it is close enough to a full sized mouse, it has 3 buttons, and it's wireless. Just what I wanted. The thing that really sold me was the "unique" feature of storing the wireless USB key receiver in the base of the mouse.
OK, that's how we met, now for the technical bit...
The mouse, with stored USB wireless key is 10cm long, 6.5cm wide and 3.5cm high (approx. measures). Its a little tall for packing in some slim line laptop bags, but I see...
