TASBOOKS 3 - EXCELLENT SOFTWARE * UPDATED*
Review of TAS Books 3 Complete package by  kismet

Advantages: Really easy to use, helpful tool for your business
Disadvantages: can be a bit pricey depending on package

...I have had to completely rewrite this review, as the previous one was outdated and referred to the old product title and was misleading. Tas Books 3 Controller is Accounting software from Tas Software. The company claim that it can save you hours of paperwork. Well, I would have to agree with them. I am sorry if this reveiw gets a bit technical, but I am an Accountant, and presumably this review will be read by people looking for an Accounting Software package, and they will know what I mean! Tas Books Controller has the following features: Customers & Sales Ledger +++++++++++++++++++++ You can maintain and access all customer details, products and services. You set up the codes that you want. It also has built-in correspondence for overdue accounts. You can process batches of invoices and credit notes quickly... Read review

TAS PAYROLL
Review of TAS Payroll Complete package by  kismet

Advantages: easy to use, YEAR END FORMS A DODDLE
Disadvantages: none so far

...I use TAS Payroll on a daily basis in my job as an Accountant. I find it easy to setup and to use, and it makes the End Of Year paperwork a complete doddle. I am writing this review for people who know what I am talking about, so will not be explaining the nature of the forms etc! TAS PAYROLL SAY THERE ARE 6 STEPS TO SETTING IT UP ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ 1. Install software and follow tutorial 2. Setup company details 3. Setup employee details 4. Setup period to run payroll, enter any adjustments 5. Print payslips and reports 6. Post payroll and update totals. They are right about this. The software comes in a box with CD and booklet. Insert CD into CD-Rom and follow instructions. Easy. Once the programme is installed, you restart your computer and then log... Read review

The Complete Black Books
Review of Black Books - The Complete Series 1 To 3 (Box Set) by  Nads82

Advantages: Hilarious!! different!
Disadvantages: Only 3 Series!

...Introduction ************** Black Books is a British sitcom which was broadcast on Channel 4 and has now been released as a complete box set. The series is set in ‘Black Books’, a small independent, second hand book shop in the Bloomsbury area of central London. The shop is owned by Bernard Black (Dyland Moran), an eccentric, foul-mouthed, Irish drunkard. The show is based around the lives and antics of Bernard Black, his assistant Manny (Bill Bailey), and their friend Fran (Tamsin Greig). Each series consists of 6 episodes and there are 3 series in total. Characters ************ Bernard Black played by Dylan Moran Manny Bianco played by Bill Bailey Fran Katzenjammer played by Tamsin Greig These are the main characters throughout all 3 Series. Welcome to Black Books
Review of Black Books - Series 1 DVD by  ElapsedSpiral

Advantages: Brilliant double act of Dylan Moran and Bill Bailey
Disadvantages: Unoriginal

...bottle* Bernard: No one's prepared to admit that wine doesn't actually have a taste. Manny: But you can't taste anything, you smoke eight bajillion cigarettes a day. What's that? Bernard: What? Manny: What's that you're eating? Bernard: It's some sort of delicious biscuit Manny: It's a coaster. *Manny rings a cleaning agency to come and clean the shop* Manny: The whole place is a complete mess, you can't find anything; right now, I'm eating scrambled egg with a comb from a shoe! -DVD Packaging- The packaging of the DVD is of a poor quality. The case features a press shot of Dylan, Tamsin and Bill posing as the characters in front of the Black Books sign. The colour scheme is an appropriately gloomy brown and black, but the composition of the cover looks hastily done and unprofessional. The disc itself is a bland brown... Read review

Turkish delights in South London
Review of Tas Pide, London by  daisydaisym

Advantages: Delicious, affordable, friendly and comfortable
Disadvantages: Is eating too much a disadvantage?

...Situated on London's South Bank, opposite the main entrance to the Globe Theatre, and ten minutes walk from London Bridge station, Tas Pide is a real treat to find. I first went there after visiting their sister restaurant, only a short walk away on Borough High Street. While at the other restaurant I picked up a card thinking that it was for them, but only realised when I next came to book that I had actually picked up the wrong one - undeterred I phoned and booked a table at this one, and discovered to my delight that it was just as good, if not better than it's sister. And if you want proof I have been back there many, many times, recommended it to others, and never heard a bad word said!!! THE MENU Tas Pide had a wide collection of turkish food on it's menu, from homous, felafel and traditional salads (and so many others... Read review

MyBook, Me Like
Review of Western Digital My Book Essential Edition WDG1U5000 500 GB by  orrin31

Advantages: Very easy to use
Disadvantages: USB only

...The ‘Essential Edition’ of the Western Digital MyBook only has USB2.0, which for me, is fine as I can plug it into any computer I wish. Other editions include Firewire, which of course costs more and not all computers support Firewire. It has a (fairly long) 3m power cable, a standard USB (type B) cable to connect to the computer and the box itself, that is very simple to set up and to use. The front has a green circle that lights up when switched on and flickers when in use. Apart from that, it is completely black in colour and has no other distinguishing features. It took me 2 minutes to set up and start to use, and that included opening the cardboard packaging! I decided to buy the 500gb capacity, as I already had another external hard disk which has 320gb, which was completely full. I needed another 500gb as backup and storing... Read review

Ulead VideoStudio 8 Complete Package
Review of Ulead VideoStudio 8 Complete package by  ilaskey

Advantages: Ease of use, SmartSound, improved audio and titling
Disadvantages: No background rendering, some new features a bit fiddly.

...Ulead's Video Studio 8 adds new features to an already highly capable yet easy to use program, it's difficult to see what if anything can be added at this price point that could possibly deserve a whole version jump from 7 to 8. Opening the Box As well as the CD, Ulead Video Studio 8 includes not one but two printed manuals. The first is a user guide to the software. This covers all the basics and helps get you up to speed quickly without being too onerous a read. Also included is a rather neat guide to Digital Video editing in general by Douglas Spotted Eagle (really!). For beginners this is a great read and Ulead deserve a big pat on the back for including this second book. System Requirements are getting slightly heavier with a Pentium III 800 with 512Mb being specified for editing (you can get by with 256Mb if you don... Read review
