Taxan is part of a Japanese electronic company who have been around since 1981 and have been a leading producer of monitors. This CRT (cathode ray tube) monitor works by basically firing electron beams through a vacuum at a screen to produce a picture. This picture is what we see when we look at a monitor. Weighs 20Kg Personal Experience This monitor is a bit old school for me, it weighs as much as a death star if your trying to move it and nearly takes up as much room as one to. ...I bought a Taxan monitor 2 years ago. It was a smart looking monitor in my opinion and also had a useful USB hub on the base. The monitor achieved the TCO99 standards for the display . Prior to buying the Taxan I had looked upon it as superior in the world of CRT displays alot of this idea may have come from the fact that it had a superior price. When I received the monitor I thought it was very curvy and had a big chunky power button but I was pleased overall. The dot pitch is an impressive 0.25 which is very impressive with a max resoloution of 1600*1200 which is average I suppose. A couple of months into using it the display started refreshing periodically. This started getting more frequent and in turn more irritating. The monitor then started making a boing noise when I pressed the chunky power button on every occasion...

Sound as a pound (or 99p as the case may be)

Advantages: Cheap products (not literally). Well known brands. Nice layout.
Disadvantages: Queues can be too long. Some of their stuff is rubbish.

...Quite a wide choice of stock. Everything is priced at 99p, so slightly cheaper than poundland. The shop in our city centre is cramped and gets overcrowded, but they sell things for the garden, kitchen, and allsorts really. They have lots of sweets and soft drinks. the only problems with the cans of pop is that they are not refrigarated which can make them taste a bit lousy. This said though you do get three or four cans for 99p. It is hard to find any of the staff that speak much English. It may also be me that looks slightly dodgy but the security guards have a bad habbit of following me round their store. I find this approach off putting as it makes me not want to buy anything from them. I can go in Marks and Spencers and hardly get a second glance from the staff.
