Taxan is part of a Japanese electronic company who have been around since 1981 and have been a leading producer of monitors. This CRT (cathode ray tube) monitor works by basically firing electron beams through a vacuum at a screen to produce a picture. This picture is what we see when we look at a monitor. ...I bought a Taxan monitor 2 years ago. It was a smart looking monitor in my opinion and also had a useful USB hub on the base. The monitor achieved the TCO99 standards for the display . Prior to buying the Taxan I had looked upon it as superior in the world of CRT displays alot of this idea may have come from the fact that it had a superior price. When I received the monitor I thought it was very curvy and had a big chunky power button but I was pleased overall. The dot pitch is an impressive 0.25 which is very impressive with a max resoloution of 1600*1200 which is average I suppose. A couple of months into using it the display started refreshing periodically. This started getting more frequent and in turn more irritating. The monitor then started making a boing noise when I pressed the chunky power button on every occasion...

BUSH 27" WIDESCREEN LCD TV

...end of line 27" widescreen lcd flat television and just had to buy it. The only trouble was, that being end of line meant that you could not order it for delivery, so I did a search of all my local stores until I found one and we reserved it for collection the next day. My husband came home with the tv, we unpacked it and installed it so easily, it was a dream. The Techinical description of this television in the Argos catalogue is Bush LCD27TV005 27in Widescreen LCD TV. The Argos order number is: 529/2150 and we paid £399.99. From what I have read online, this television was retailing at around £600 originially, but at the moment, all of the LCD televisions seem to be 26 or 30/32 inches, so it looks like they are phasing out the 27" ones. The television is silver in colour and the speakers are each end of the television...

Akura AH260 LCD

Advantages: Good picture, Widescreen, HD Ready, Wall Mountable and an assortment of connections.
Disadvantages: Remote control:slightly hit and miss but still works. HDMI connection would be useful.

...I bought this LCD tv roughly 2 years ago. I must admit I was quite skeptical over the manufacturer before I bought it, but it was a good price and had good features too. And I can comfortably say that this LCD tv has not let me down to this day! It has a good quality picture for both digital tv and games. It also supports the HD feature, though I have yet to use it. I am sure it would be more than adequate. The remote control is a standard remote control, slightly hit and miss, but works nonetheless. Although the tv doesn't have an HMDI connection it is always possible to get a HDMI to DVI converter or vice versa in order for it to work with the playstation 3 and other devices (It works with the current DVI connection, but other cables may be required). The tv is also wall mountable, and safe to say I have no problems with it being hung...

Venturing into the world of budget LCD televisions

Advantages: Easy to tune; clear, high quality picture, good sound

Having looked at a number of flat panel TVs with screen sizes ranging from 15 to 32 inches, I decided to upgrade my normal screen size from 15 inches to 26 inches in order to provide that home cinema feel in a relatively small room. While large screens were also appealing, a combination of a tight budget (see above) and a small room with which the set would be located, forced my hand into the sub 32 inch category. Cheap flat screen LCD TV better than dearer ones

...When the one of the channel switches on the little television in our kitchen became dodgy - and after all it was about 25 years old - we decided to look for a new one and ended up at our local big Tesco superstore because the prices were cheaper. We were drawn to a range of small LCD televisions and at the time we thought that the Digilogic 15 inch television had one of the best pictures in the lower end of the price range. I had never heard of Digilogic but I now know that it is Tesco's own brand name for a range of electrical goods. We spoke to one of the sales people who said you could not go on the picture quality in the shop in making your choice as people fiddle with the controls(!) and as we were a bit afraid of buying a brand that we knew nothing about we opted for a slightly more expensive Bush model of the same size.
