Fantastic Value PCI Network Card

...Netgear FA310TX network cards offer the best value for money named network card. The card is very simple to install under windows 95/98 Or NT Server and Workstation just using the enclosed driver diskette (TCP/IP, Netbui and IPX all bound to the card just fine). The card supports 10/100 Mbps, Auto-sensing RJ-45 interface and Full or half-duplex modes. So far compared to all of the card's that we have used on our LAN this unit has proven to be absolutely faultless (could change, but only time will tell) for £14.00 + VAT. I have got 20+ of these cards running in a mixed OS enviroment connected either a 3COM 3300 24 Port switch, HP 10/100 Hubb or various other Hubbs doted around the office to provide connectivity. ...I have surrently undetaken the Cisco Certified netowking course and I would like to recomment it to any one else who may find it to be beneficail t there career. The Cisco course is very informative and if you have an interest in netwoking you may enjoy it. You wil learn all the basics in networking such as topologies and ethernet, tcp/ip etc that is very interesting. The course cost £1500 but the offer has been given to me at my college at no extra cost. At the end of the course you are given a certified netwoking qualification that may be useful in the future. The course is very intersting and I recomment it to others....

The way to do this is to connect the print server and PC via an ethernet cable and to change the IP address of the PC to one on the same range as the print server (this is only a temporary change until we have the print server configured). The game of the year?

..., the effects are very impressive. A full install however, takes up 1.5GB including cinematics, so you better have a cavernous hard drive if you want the full Diablo effect! You can play multiplayer on Battlenet or with a TCP/IP network. I've also found out that there is already a v1.01 patch for Diablo with a v1.02 on its way, so be prepared for a few more of them coming out to fix up those little bugs... On the whole though, a jolly good show!...

...Virtual Pool 2 is a brilliant snooker and pool game. The backgrounds are fantastic with great graphics. An example of a background is an actual bar. In the version I have I only have 1 background but you can find patches on the internet with more. The opponent Al is a range from bad to excellent depending on which person you play. Also there is a two-player option, which is fun. There are many types of games of snooker and pool to play which keeps you going for a long time. Especially good is the internet play. The connection is TCP/IP so it is totally free. Also the controls are very simple and easy to use. The graphics are good, the enemy Al is good and the options are great. This game is fantastic and a must buy if you?re somebody who likes snooker/pool....

Review of Virtual Pool 2 (PC)

Easy to use network print sharing

Advantages: connect any printer to the network,
Disadvantages: Can;t really use with non-HP printers, not bi-drectional in that respect, cost (when buying new)

...I got my 170x off ebay for the princely sum of £20 (tho no manual), and it was def worth it! I can now share this printer over the network without using a PC to share it with! It wasn't easy to set up initally, but after running DHCP on my linux box it was easy to configure over the web interface. If you do not have DHCP, you will need the HP network printer wizard app thingy to configure it via ipx/spx, or you will not bed able to access it. If you're not a tech head like me, you may have problems installing it, so read the manual and HP support site carefully! After that I connected my HP laserjet 6l, and that basically was it! it was that simple. With windows XP, you simply add a network printer (TCP/IP) With 98, you needed the network printer wizard app. Simple and not noisy, it just sits next to the printer...
