TDK CD-R Marker Pen
Review of TDK CD-R Marker Pen - CD labelling pen by
Kingkarliii
Advantages: Last a long time
Disadvantages: Only 4 Colours
...in the front of the packet or case to hold the pens securely in place
***The Pens***
As I have already mentioned there are four pens in a packet, Red, Green, Blue and Black. Each one has written in silver TDK CD-R PEN with the TDK logo clearly visible. On the end of each pen is a different coloured screw in cap to help identify the pen that you require. As well as this each pen has a different coloured lid and have a clip on them so that you can clip them to the inside of your jacket or shirt pocket. The nibs of these pens are really fine making it easy to write and recognise what you have written and there is no smudging at all
***Smell***
Like most permanent markers these pens give of toxic fumes that would make you high if you were to sit there and sniff them or use them in a small unaired room.
***Price***
Unfortunately I did...

The Best Brand CD-R So Far
Review of TDK CD-R 650 MB 16x by
waynehorrigan
Advantages: So far they're 100% problem-free
Disadvantages: Never say never with CD-Rs
...For my money, TDK have a long and respectable tradition in the production of blank media. In the 80's I'd tape the top 40 rundown on Radio One with crazy old Bruno Brookes using one of their many blank audio tape products. Around the same time I'd tape my favourite programmes (Gary Shandling, The Tube and Grange Hill) using a TDK blank video cassette.
And now, as we undergo burn and rip mania, I've started using their products for my MP3 collections too. Loyal? Well, yes. When the day comes that TDK let me down, I'm off to find a new brand. But in the meantime, if it ain't broke......
WHAT IS A CD-R?
CD-R stands for compact disc recordable as opposed to rewritable (that's a CD-RW). The difference between the two formats is that you can use a CD-RW over and over again, but a CD-R only once. CD-R, whilst capable of storing...

Another Day, Another CD-R
Review of TDK CD-R 700 MB by
waynehorrigan
Advantages: Flawless, huge capacity
Disadvantages: None thus far
...I'm a bit confused. The picture on Ciao shows the CDR74, 650MB of this product but the description is that of the 700MB, CDR80 version. For the purpose of this review I'll go with Ciao's description - which is lucky because that's the one I own!
I've recently completed a TDK CD-R review but when I saw that this alternative TDK product was listed on Ciao, I felt compelled to review this too. I know, I need to get out more, but my wife and daughter are at Ikea and my son is in his room playing with his Thomas The Tank Engine tracks and trucks, so what the hell? Anyway, I'm working on my bedroom tan.......
The ins and outs of CD-Rs appears in my previous review so I won't bore you with all that again. I'll just review the product this time.

A boring review on CD-R80 discs!!!
Review of TDK CD-R 700 MB 24x by
kerryzach
Advantages: se op
Disadvantages: see op
...I may be a bit out of my depth with this review! Sorry but I was bored!
TDK CD-R Data discs are designed for computer-based data storage. You can store on them any kind of data - audio, video, multimedia, text files, etc. CD-R discs are write-once, meaning a CD-R can be fully recorded one time, but can't be erased or re-recorded. This can be highly annoying when something does go wrong. It has been known for a pile to be sat at th side of me, simply ready for the dustbin!
TDK Recordable Compact Discs (CD-R), rather than the CD-RW which can be re-written. These discs promise to offer high-density storage and excellent recording.
TDK Certified Reflex Ultra CD-R discs are said to be highly reliable, although you get a few errors and mis-writes. This is hard to say whether it is due to the discs or simply due to the location from...

The standard quality blank cdr at great prices
Review of TDK CD-R 650 MB 16x by
AlanThompson
Advantages: Play on any machine. Consistent quality
Disadvantages: cannot overburn as much as verbatims
....
They are a little more expensive than many cheaper brands, but there are a few places to order them online, with discount offers.
One such place is www.eurodead.net/cdr
which lists vouchers for money off at Buy.com (uk)
i have ordered 125 TDK's for £30 using the site mentioned above.
If you need to decide on which blank discs to use, then you really cannot go wrong with TDK.
Other brands I rate on a par with TDK (for audio use) are Verbatim, Sony and Kodak....

It does exactly what it says on the tin
Review of TDK CD-R 650 MB 16x by
crustypaul
Advantages: Good audio quality, reliable
Disadvantages: Some blanks don't play properly, dodgy at higher speeds
...TDK cd-r blanks seem to have become the yardstick by which all other blank cd-r media are measured but coming from a pure audio quality or sound-engineering point of view they are not the best available.
While TDK blanks are generally fine for running off copies of commercial audio cd's i have found that if you try to write audio to them at anyhing over X2 speed then any really low end bass frequencies will start to go a bit wooly or wobbly (for want of a better word). Even at the lowest speeds you will also find that you get a very slight brittleness and phasing appearing in the top end that can be disconcerting if you know the sound of the cd you are copying really well. These effect's are very slight and you probably wouldn't notice them unless you are specifically listening for it but personally i would not put much faith...

CD-OK
Review of TDK CD-R 80 min by
Kingkarliii
Advantages: Store yor data, free your hard drive
Disadvantages: come on a spindle and have no cases
...I recently managed to fill up my 80GB Hard drive with all sorts of rubbish and needed some CD's to store my information on. Usually I would buy them from Tesco's, but as I was In a hurry I popped into my local computer retailer (Northbridge Computers in Lowestoft) to see what he had available. All he had on this occassion was TDK CD-R80 discs. There was single CD's in cases, boxs of ten in cases and spindles of twenty-five and one hundred. I plummeted for the spindle of twenty-five as I wasn't rich enough at the time to buy the big fat one hundred spindle.
***Product***
The disc's themselves are light blue with a silver swirl on it. TDK CD-R80 is clearly stamped on it. There is plenty of room to write on them and they can store up to 700MB of data or 80 minutes recording time. They are ideal for backing up files, pictures, photos...

Imation blank CDR's
Review of Imation Corp. CD-R 700 MB 48x by
Paradis
Advantages: Their cheapness
Disadvantages: None I have found
...I wanted a pack of cdr's that would burn easily enough without having to dump a load of them in the process. I actually stumbled on these quite by accident, after my usual TDK brand was out of stock. I thought I would give them a try, and I am glad I did, because they burn at a reasonable speed, and have caused me no problems with either the recording of, or the retrieval of data so far, and I have used a few 50 packs now. In fact I can't recall having to throw any away that wasn't my own mistake.
Imation are very realistic price at around £15 for a spindle pack of 50, or 100 for £30. As there is no saving on the 100 pack, I generally buy 50 at a time. The pack they come in, is excellent for their storage too, with a spindle to keep them on and a nice twist, clear lid that keeps the discs dust and grime free until you need them...

I'm the Music Man
Review of TDK CD-R 80 min by
Nathan_Innit
Advantages: Make CD's with the music you want
Disadvantages: Only an hour and 20mins of music
...When purchasing my new laptop, which was years ago now, there was one important feature to me and that was that it had to be able to write to CD's because if there's one hobby I have, and one thing I love, it's music. Whilst we are in an age of MP3's where CD's don't really matter when CD's do come into play is at parties (can't have everyone crowded around one iPod) and also in cars. Now there's a lot of pressure when deciding what to put on a CD for my car, but my dash compartment is slowly starting to make a collection.
And what brand are these CD's? Well TDK CD-R80 of course! There's no brand I ever used, and at this very moment I don't think there's any need to change brand. Whilst the picture beside this review shows a case, I actually p | | |
