Te Tao BODY WASH
Review of Te Tao Wild Rice and Oatmeal Body Polish by
CookieCrumbs
Advantages: Unique Smell, leaves you cool and refreshed
Disadvantages: Not moisturising enough. Quite Pricey.Bottle wont last long.
...On a recent shopping trip, I purchases a trial size (125ml) bottle of Te Tao body wash for £1.25. Anyway, before I go into the pro’s and con’s, one simple question: Would I by this product again? Answer: Yes
The body wash contains many natural ingredients. The two main ingredients are Chinese angelica, and green tea. The green tea is added to smooth and soften, and to leave a layer on the skin to protect from pollutants. The angelica is an ancient remedy for sluggish circulation flow, so it has a refreshing and revitalising properties. Other ingredients include ginger, cinnamon and sunflower oil.
So as you can see, the emphasis is on natural ingredients. This isn’t a surprise, as the Te Tao range are made by Kaun. Kaun was created in 1998 by four women who were inspired by holistic and herbal medicine
The product comes in clear...

More Te Tao Vicar
Review of Te Tao Tea Tree Shampoo by
madamejojo
Advantages: does what it says, smells lovely
Disadvantages: slightly expensive.
...For as long as I can remember I have been using Head and Shoulders shampoo as I suffer with a dry flaky scalp. This works well, but recently my hairdresser advised me not to use it as often as I do as it was to harsh for me.
So over the last week or so I have been searching for a shampoo that wouldn't be has harsh but still gave me the effect of my usual shampoo.
I spent ages looking on the shelves and spotted a shampoo that I had seen a while back but never bothered with as I didn't know much about it.
WHAT IS IT CALLED?
TE TAO (chinese herbal therapy) TEA FOR HAIR
This shampoo gently cleanses your hair and regulates dry scalp, so it seemed ideal for what I needed from a shampoo. It contains mild chrysanthemum, lycium berries and eclipta.
It cost me £2.99 for a 250ml/8.4floz bottle. This was from Tesco.
I started...

Review of Te Tao Warm Henna Red Shampoo by
KarenUK
Advantages: Good colour and texture, smells lovely, enhances colour
Disadvantages: Expensive for what it does
...Seeing as my hair is now at the stage where it needs a complete rest from dyeing, I have been on the lookout for alternative ways of keeping my red colour a little bit longer. Therefore, when I saw The Big W had a sale on recently, I was happy to snap up this product for half price. (Expect to pay between £3 and £4 for a 250ml bottle normally.)
Te Tao has been a well-known range for quite a while now, but it wasn’t one I had ever tried, feeling the products were rather over-priced. They do a range of shampoos for various hair types (see www.tetao.com for further details) but this one caught my eye because it is a deep, dark orange-red colour and had the word ‘henna’ in it. As you probably know, henna has been used for centuries to dye hair in a more natural way than using bleaches and chemicals.
The full name...

Milk and two sugars for mine please
Review of Te Tao Lemongrass Teashine Shampoo by
Sootica.P.Monster
Advantages: Shampooey type things-it cleans hair and smells nice.
Disadvantages: It doesn't promote world peace, or do the dishes.
...[Cue swirling mist and occasional clang of oriental gongs in the style of the telly programme Monkey and, if you wish, dodgy mock Chinese accent]
"Chinese herbal medicine first evolved in the mountains of ancient China as Taoist philosophers searched for the elusive elixir of life. Over the centuries they learned of the remarkable healing powers of carefully combined plants and minerals taken in tea form... incredible benefits which Te Tao now brings to your hair."
(text blatantly poached from back of bottle.)
So then here it is, the coveted elixir of life. Cunningly disguised as a lemony shampoo.
My reason for choosing Te Tao was not entirely honorable; upon arriving in the shampoo section I found there was no lovely Boots offer comprising my usual bottles of Citre Shine and I would have to pay *shock horror* full price...

Finding the Way...
Review of The Essential Tao: An Initiation into the Heart of Taoism Through the Authentic Tao Te Ching and the Inner Teachings of Chuang-tzu - A Compendium of Ethical Wisdom - Thomas Cleary by
frkurt
Advantages: Good insights, good passages
Disadvantages: A few translations are a bit awkward
...Thomas Cleary, a recognised and respected scholar on Eastern religions and philosophies, is an acknowledged master also of translation from classic Chinese and Japanese tests. If one seeks out English translations of The Taoist 'I Ching' or 'The Art of War,' Cleary's version is probably the edition most likely to be found.
Thus, the work in this book, 'The Essential Tao,' an initiation into the heart of Taoism through the authentic 'Tao Te Ching' and the inner teachings of 'Chuang Tzu,' carries a great pedigree. It fully lives up to expectations. These two works, which together describe the essentials of the philosophy and practice of Tao, impart great wisdom and insight, and Cleary's translation keeps much of the distinctiveness of the original Chinese.
The 'Tao Te Ching' and 'Chuang Tzu' cover a wide array of topics, from...

Extract of Laotses TAO TE KING
Review of Poetry by
net_fish
Advantages: wisedom
Disadvantages: ??
...Hi, this is my first Opinion in english (I'm from Germany), so I've chosen something, that isn't too difficult to write ... ;o).
It's a quotation from the TAO TE KING.
The TAO TE KING hasn't anything to do with a king, it is a anthology of wise sayings, wrote by Laotse, a chinese philosopher.
The translation of TAO TE KING is:
"the book of the sense and the kind of life"
I like reading this book, because it's full of wisedom...
Here is one of my favourites, it's about the duality of everything (I've just the german version, so I do my best to translate it into english) :
When the people on earth
recognize beauty as beauty,
ugliness is born.
When the people on earth
recognize good as good,
the evil is born.
See:
Being and Not-Being show each other,
Light...

Te Tao - I'm getting more virtuous than ever!!!
Review of Everything that starts with T ... by
Hippychick54
Advantages: lovely light texture
Disadvantages: its green!!!!!!
...Te Tao Chinese Rose and Mother of Pearl Body Lotion
As usual for me -couldn't find the category for this and Ciao didn't invite me to request one no matter how I tried - but as I had received some nice comments about the Shampoo and Conditioner I thought you might want to know about the body lotion too!!! This seemed as good a place as any!!
The main ingredients for this product are as follows:- Mother of Pearl – reputed to have anti ageing properties, Orange Blossom extract which counteracts stress, Chinese Wild Yam, this rebalances, conditions and tones and Chinese Rose which helps to calm stress
This was on offer in my local chemist for 99p – what interested me was that it had a pump on top of the bottle – I can’t cope with removing tops on bottles especially when I have lotion all over my hands.
I have to say...

Get naked
Review of Te Tao Wild Rice and Oatmeal Body Polish by
Klara13
Advantages: Clear softer skin
Disadvantages: A very gritty bath
...Get naked, rub all over and wash off.
Hello and welcome to my review. Go-on it was the title that got you here? Wasn’t it?
Not misleading really because you will have to get naked to look at your skin! So how’s it looking? Tired, dull a bit dry and scaly after wearing the winter woollies.
Looking forward to shrugging of the winter warmers, lathering on the suntan or the self-tan lotion and getting ready to party. “I wish” I hear you cry. Well ok you just want your skin to feel and look good. So sit back relax and I will tell you about a product that I have been using for a couple of years now.
