Advantages: Excellent materials, tutors and support, good value for money, interesting assignments Disadvantages: It's expensive (although there is financial support available), can be hard to motivate yourself
...I am currently half way through my first Open University course: A210, Approaching Literature. I was apprehensive at first, as I have had bad experiences with other distance learning companies! But from the online registration process, to receiving all the materials, to going to the monthly tutorials, to actually writing the assignments, I have thoroughly enjoyed every second of it! I am lucky as I have already been to university, but I could see how someone who has no experience of higher education could find it quite daunting. However, you receive a lot of support and guidance from the tutors and fellow students. The electronic TMA system, which allows you to send your assignments to your tutor through the internet, is really good and saves on postage costs! It is quite a constant workload. There are 7 TMA's (tutor marked assignments...

Advantages: Good colour and texture, smells lovely, enhances colour Disadvantages: Expensive for what it does
...Seeing as my hair is now at the stage where it needs a complete rest from dyeing, I have been on the lookout for alternative ways of keeping my red colour a little bit longer. Therefore, when I saw The Big W had a sale on recently, I was happy to snap up this product for half price. (Expect to pay between £3 and £4 for a 250ml bottle normally.)
Te Tao has been a well-known range for quite a while now, but it wasn’t one I had ever tried, feeling the products were rather over-priced. They do a range of shampoos for various hair types (see www.tetao.com for further details) but this one caught my eye because it is a deep, dark orange-red colour and had the word ‘henna’ in it. As you probably know, henna has been used for centuries to dye hair in a more natural way than using bleaches and chemicals.

Advantages: Excellent highly defined display. Good for the price. Disadvantages: Can develop faults over time.
...Earlier this year, lacking the funds for a fancy flat screen TFT or LCD monitor to replace my 4 year old Dell monitor I decided to opt for the Relisys TE 770 model CRT model. Having never even heard of the brand name before, I was rather skeptical.
My sole reason for buying the TE 770 was that it was the only black monitor currently on offer in the shop, put simply I wanted my new monitor to compliment my other hardware components.
Setting the model up was quite easy, a power cable is supplied with the monitor, though you may need some help from another person when lifting the monitor onto a desk or workspace.
You do need to plug in two leads, the monitor's input cable, and the power cable. The input cable must be slotted into the American style 3 - pin slot in the back of your tower/ flat case unit.
The power cable has two ends...

Review of Relisys TE 770
Advantages: Fun, educational, entertaining, hands on Disadvantages: Very big (can't see it all), can't take pictures of exhibits
...Te Papa Tongarewa museum ("Te Papa" or "Our Place" for short) is New Zealand's national museum and is right in the heart of Wellington next to the docks. If you only have time to visit one thing in Wellington, visit Te Papa. Many of the collections are online, so if you can't make it all the way to New Zealand, then have a look at the web pages instead. Originally dating from 1992 (or 1998 for the present incarnation in its iconic building), this is a modern museum suitable for children and adults alike and the exhibits are fun and often interactive, whilst still being educational.
Most of the exhibitions are free, but you pay if you want to go on a guided tour. Lifts going to every floor help with accessibility and are useful for everyone - the museum goes up to floor level 7, so we were quite worn out by the end of our trip...
...The Oxford Companion to English Literature is a weighty tome. But there's no fat! No, sir! Every ounce of the weight of this book is pure literary muscle!
The book was first published in 1932, edited by Sir Paul Harvey, and the current edition is edited by the author Margaret Drabble.
The book is an invaluable companion to anyone who has an interest in English, be it professional or amateur. The design of the book is simple to follow, with each entry in alphabetical order.
The book is an eclectic collection of thousands of literary references. It covers fictional characters, authors, locations that are of significance to English literature, fictional locations, literary patrons, music, history, poetry, religion as it relates to literature, drama, theoretical concepts of literary criticism, etc., etc.

...For as long as I can remember I have been using Head and Shoulders shampoo as I suffer with a dry flaky scalp. This works well, but recently my hairdresser advised me not to use it as often as I do as it was to harsh for me.
So over the last week or so I have been searching for a shampoo that wouldn't be has harsh but still gave me the effect of my usual shampoo.
I spent ages looking on the shelves and spotted a shampoo that I had seen a while back but never bothered with as I didn't know much about it.
WHAT IS IT CALLED?
TE TAO (chinese herbal therapy) TEA FOR HAIR
This shampoo gently cleanses your hair and regulates dry scalp, so it seemed ideal for what I needed from a shampoo. It contains mild chrysanthemum, lycium berries and eclipta.
It cost me £2.99 for a 250ml/8.4floz bottle. This was from Tesco.

Advantages: Versatile, nice design, internet facility, storage, large amount of features. Disadvantages: Physical problems: buttons breaking/falling off, common shaker breaking probelm.
...become very annoying as this also seems to be a common error and friends have had to completely remove the buttons from the phone which destroys the look.
Unfortunately this brings the rating of the phone down, as far as the software is concerned the phone is perfect it is only the physical problems that spoil the W850i....

Review of Sony Ericsson W580i
Advantages: Unique Smell, leaves you cool and refreshed Disadvantages: Not moisturising enough. Quite Pricey.Bottle wont last long.
...On a recent shopping trip, I purchases a trial size (125ml) bottle of Te Tao body wash for £1.25. Anyway, before I go into the pro?s and con?s, one simple question: Would I by this product again? Answer: Yes
The body wash contains many natural ingredients. The two main ingredients are Chinese angelica, and green tea. The green tea is added to smooth and soften, and to leave a layer on the skin to protect from pollutants. The angelica is an ancient remedy for sluggish circulation flow, so it has a refreshing and revitalising properties. Other ingredients include ginger, cinnamon and sunflower oil.
So as you can see, the emphasis is on natural ingredients. This isn?t a surprise, as the Te Tao range are made by Kaun. Kaun was created in 1998 by four women who were inspired by holistic and herbal medicine
The product comes in clear...

...With the birth of our 4th child last year, I need a car with 6 seats. I had a budget of £6,500. The best MPV i could get for that was a 1993 Renault Espace with a smoky engine, ripped cloth seats and tatty loose fittings. Comparing parts and service prices between that and Mercedes showed very little difference and the Mercedes E Class estate drives an awful lot better.
I ended up with a more powerful model than I intended with a 240+ bhp 300TE-24valve Sportline from 1991. This car may be 12 years old now and have 150,000 miles under its belt but when it was new in 1991 it cost over £40,000. It was built well and still has no rattles or squeeks (apart from the baby seat!), cleans up beutifully and does not look its age at all.
It has proved relatively reliable, very comfortable, safe, swift and has very low depreciation now.
I...

Review of Mercedes 300 TE
Advantages: A classic novel that impress peole with your variety of reading materials Disadvantages: a slightly contrived ending
...As many of you know, I have a great love of literature. Not just the current best sellers but children's classic, adult's classics, text books and many more genres. However, when studying my A2 literature I found that the books lost a lot of the appeal that they once held. Therefore I am pleased to say that I didn't read the classic Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte until just the other day. I had read Charlotte Bronte's Jane Eyre and fell in love at once with Mr Rochester, all of the Austen novels, falling in love at once with Mr Darcy and many of the other Victorian type novels, mostly for pleasure but with the mind that they would help for comparison of texts of the era when I sat the dreaded exam for the worst book I have ever read, Tess of the D'Urbevilles.
Now leaving the dreary subject of Tess with her many signs of ill fate...
